Pretty in Fuchsia

Hi CIP followers!  I finally worked on a new page in my art journal.  I've used a Julie Nutting image to stamp up, clear emboss, and color with some pretty CI paints.  The shimmery CI paints that I've used are Fuchsia, Tickled Pink, Mocha Latte, Carmel, and Onyx.  I've also used the clear Deliquesce over black ink.  Each of these items can be found in the Creative Inspirations Paint store.

Canvas + CI Paints = Timeless

As you all know, I love creating with canvas... I could work with nothing but various size canvases and be completely happy. Yesterday, I pulled out some printed canvas that I had purchased at Michaels a while back and a 6x6 canvas along with my Creative Inspirations Paints and got to work.

I used a mixture of Beige, Carmel and Antique Copper paints on the canvas page with the clock print. I used a fabric medium with the paints so that they would blend into the canvas rather than only sit on top of it. This was the first time I tried this with the CI Paints. It worked rather well. I sealed it all with a matte medium and Mod Podge.

I had some foil tape left over from a previous project that was embossed with clocks... this I adhered with modeling paste to the front, and another to one side of the canvas. Tissue paper, joint tape and more modeling paste was added to the other sides of the canvas for texture. For the first time, I did not add any stamping to a canvas. I may go back and change this, but for now I like how it looks. More Antique Copper was added to the sides and front embossed clock. After it dried, I went over the raised portions of the front and sides of the canvas with some Antique Gold using my finger. When you look at the canvas from any side it has that fantastic shimmer that we all love so much with the paints.

In the close ups above, you can see the texture that the embossed foil tape, modeling paste, tissue paper and joint tape created. I find it fun to finish the sides of my canvas as though they are the center of the piece themselves. I like it when you can look at a project from any side and see lots of detail. Something to think about the next time you create a canvas piece. :)

And as always, the colors I used in my piece...

Wishing you a wonderful day full of creativity and messy hands!!

A Marbled Card using CI Paints

Hello again friends! Emily here with another card to share with you that I made using some Creative Inspirations Paints. For today's card I used a marbling technique that our tutorial queen, Kassi shared with us. I am in LOVE with this technique!

Here is the original video:

Here is the final card...

For my card and the marbling, I used Autumn Wheat and Carmel CI Paints with some Vintage Photo Distress Stain. You can also use the Vintage Photo Distress Ink if you don't have the stains. Kassi uses Distress Ink in her tutorial video. I love the final result you get with this technique! It looks so good!

Here are some close ups of the card...

I embossed the sentiment with Deliquesce Metallic Copper embossing powder. It really went well together with the other paints used in the card. I added some Beige and Antique Copper paints to some Prima flowers for added color.

Below are the CI Paints and products used....

I hope you've enjoyed my projects the past two days! I will see you on Monday with another project!!

Leprechaun Duo

Hi CIP fans and followers!  I just had to stamp this sweet Leprechaun for St. Patrick's Day, and to follow along with the current Go Green challenge!  I had fun with Creative Inspirations Paint, and added a bit of paper piecing.  I've used quite a few shimmery paints from the Creative Inspirations Paint store, along with the Deliquesce Metallic Copper embossing powder for the sentiment.  The paint colors used are: Copper (all along the scalloped edge), Carmel and Raw Sienna (stockings), Emerald and Evergreen (Shamrocks and jacket accents), Green Olive (hat sash), Gold (coins and buckles), and Sunshine (star shape in coins).

Listen to your Heart... use CI Paints! ;)

Hooray, it's Friday! I'm so happy that the weekend is finally here! Today I have a tag to share with you that I created for a banner setup I put together to hold cards and tags in our house. All it consists of is a long piece of twine with miniature clothes hangers along it to display the cards and tags. I change out the cards and tags depending on the time of the year and seasons. It is really working out well and is one of our favorite spots in the house. :)

Believe it or not, there are quite a few CI Paints on this little tag. A lot of colors were used on the background of the tag which I first covered with Mod Podge and various pieces of old ledger pages. After the pieces had dried I applied Carmel, Blush, Rose Quartz Tickled Pink and some Beige paints. The girl was cut out out from a card I had received in a scrapbook kit years ago that I saved in hopes I would some day use. I finally did! I used Fairy Dust on her crown, Sea Foam and Coal on her eyes, and some Autumn Wheat on her wings. Beige and Antique copper were used on the girl's dress. After all of the paints had dried, I used a stencil and some Light Modeling paste to make the hearts which I covered in Deliquesce Super Sparkle Pink and then heat gunned. As a final step, I used my sketch pen to trace around the girl, hearts and sticker phrase.

Look at all of the sparkle and glimmer of the Deliquesce on the hearts! I love it!

You can see some more of the shimmer of the background and her dress here.

Once again, I have a collage of all of the Creative Inspirations Paint products used in my project today.

I hope you have enjoyed my tag today. I will see you soon!

Birthday Boy with CI Paints

Hello CI Paint fans, and Happy Thanksgiving to those of you here in the US celebrating!

For today's project I've made a card for an upcoming birthday, and tried some distressing with the Creative Inspirations Paint.  I colored this sweet image from CC Designs, and cut several die cuts using recycled cereal boxes with cardstock over the smaller pieces (the crown and birthday tag).  The frame is plain chipboard with the Onyx CI Paint directly painted on to it.  The coverage really looks as solid and shimmery either way.  I added some clear gloss over the crown (love the flecks of shimmer under that gloss!), and then stamped the Happy Birthday tag using the White Deliquesce embossing powder.   To add a bit of distressing I painted over the white lettering, with Onxy, and then dry brushed it off.  His cupcake is topped off with a bit of Carmel CI Paint, and I've just chalked around the edges of the cut image to finish it off.

Always Be Grateful

Good morning and Happy Monday fellow paint lovers!  Emily here today with a canvas I created using lots of beautiful Creative Inspirations Paints.

Recently, I have been inspired by all of the fall leaves and colors I am surrounded by on a daily basis when I walk to work. Thanksgiving is also coming up very soon, so many have been posting and sharing what they are grateful for this month. The two inspirations combined equal today's canvas.

Nine different paints were used from CIP in this canvas. Not only did I use the paints on the flowers, but I also used them on the canvas, the glass beads gel and a small amount on the wooden letters.

As you can see, the message of the canvas is clear. It is a nice fit for this time of year. I currently have this piece hanging in the hallway surrounded by family photos. It reminds us to be grateful for who and what we have. :)

You can see the shimmer of the paints in these various close up shots. When you look at the canvas from different angles you can see the different colors I used.

Below are the Creative Inspirations Paints used in my canvas today.

Other supplies used: canvas, Bo Bunny Khaki Dot cardstock, Prima Flowers, Wood Veneer Alpha (Studio Calico) Liquitex Glass Beads Gel, Acrylic paint , Distress Ink, Prima Stamps, Tim Holtz Stamps, StazOn Ink,

Thank you for stopping by today! Remember to join Jessica for our Weekly Inspired By Challenge! This weeks is Inspired by: Turkey Turkey!! So let us see those Thanksgiving or Turkey inspired projects!!

CIP - Pin Cushion with Shimmer and Bling

Hi there Crafty Friends!  Kimberly here, and I'm back with a new project with CI Paint.  I've used five colors from the Creative Inspirations Paint line on my pin cushion.  The pin cushion is made from an empty ribbon spool with a plastic cap on the top covered with paper, the pins I've made with beads from my stash.  The flowers have Carmel, Winter Frost, and Fairy Dust, while I used the Green Olive and Chocolate on the leaves (they started out white).
