'Mother' Layout

This is a special photograph of John's Mother, Georgina.  Georgina is an amazing lady at the age of 81, and her life story is just so amazing - I could sit and listen to it over and over.  You see, she is alive today due to escaping Berlin, and then skiing out of Austria many years ago.  In her group of friends that attempted this, very few survived.

So I created a layout for Georgina, using Creative Inspirations Paints to illuminate the beautiful papers and embellishments.  Sadly, the roses no matter how hard I tried, would not show their true colours - they are not 'that' dark in reality.
There is a lot of Creative Inspirations Paints within this layout. The lace, has been painted with 'Gold', just lightly brushed over to add a shimmer and age it a little. Chipboard elements have been painted using Copper, the edges of each butterfly (including the background paper) have been edged in Gold - just a touch around very edges.
The flowers have all been coloured or highlighted using a variety of colours - they look amazing in real and I am sure if you click on and enlarge the photographs, you can see more detail of that beautiful shimmer that Creative Inpsirations Paints produces.
The Prima Vine was a real lolly pink colour, after a wash of Raw Sienna, Copper and a touch of Gold - voila new flowers.  Also, the leaves were coloured too, ridding of the original brightness.  So, don't be afraid of re-vamping items in your stash you are no longer keen on!  Creative Inspirations Paints can cover as much of the previous colour as you wish - a light swish of the brush for subtle tones, or several layers to completely cover.  The best part, the paint dries quickly...
 Thanks for dropping by...

Little things inspired layout

Hello friends!  JennK here with you today to share a layout I created inspired by this weeks theme of "Little Things".  The theme got me thinking about all sorts of fun things, but what I decided on, was to focus on the LITTLE things in life that make me happy.  So, a layout war born....

The pictures are from a recent trip my kids and I took to visit my sister over the summer.  I just love to get these little 2X2 pictures printed.  I decided that I wanted to incorporate a few butterflies into the mix so I created a few squares of the same size and then mounted my butterflies to them.

Here are the paint colors I used in my layout.

I painted the edges of the squares with the Rose Quartz paint...look at the yummy shimmer!!  I also painted the embossed areas of the butterflies.  The easiest way to do this is to leave your butterfly in the die.  Then gently pounce the paint on the open areas, try not to get too much paint otherwise it will bleed under the die.
Here are a few close up of the finished project..

I hope my project inspired some ideas on how to use these yummy paints as well as this week challenge.
Have a great day and Happy Craftin'!  JennK
