"Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies..."

Hello Creative Inspirations Paint fans! Since the 4th of July is coming up and here on the blog Diana has the awesome Inspired By Challenge: Red, White and Blue going on, I thought I would do a little Red White and Blue project of my own.
Really, in this case it was take an old project and make it better. Last year did this mixed media piece using lyrics from "America, the Beautiful" and a fabric US Flag I made using acrylic paints and a piece of muslim. There was also some stamps, stickers and various patterned papers incorporated in the piece. I loved how it turned out, but never felt as though it was complete. I recently realized what I could do to finish the piece off.

Using some patterned paper I covered a wooden heart I had and then used Rustic Red and Denium around the edges of the papers and on the side of the heart. I took chipboard stars and used Deliquesce Fine White to cover them and adhered them to the heart. I took four additional chipboard stars, embossed them and added them to the corners of the canvas. The USA on the heart was made using some letter alphas which I embossed with Deliquesce Super Sparkle Red. It has a great sparkle!!

A close up of the added decorative heart. To give the stars on the entire piece more sparkle, I added Fairy Dust paint to each of the stars. To the four stars on the canvas, I also added a bit of Denium paint to the edges of each to help them blend into the original canvas. It helped pull the heart together with the canvas.

And the products from CI Paints used below:

You still have one week to join in the Inspired By Challenge: Red, White and Blue... come play!

Have a great day!!

You're a Star!!!

Hello friends! I'm so happy to be back on the blog today to share a card I made using a stencil, chipboard, distress ink and some Creative Inspirations Paint and Embossing Powder.

Using a Crafters Workshop stencil and a mixture of Denium and Onyx CI Paints, I stippled the design on my white cardstock. After the paints dried I went over them using a Distress Ink pad. This is very similar to the marbling technique using the CI Paints.
I painted some UmWow star chipboard with Antique Silver and then embossed a gear design on it using Deliquesce Platinum embossing powder with my Versamark embossing ink pad and a gear stamp.  The Platinum embossing powder looks great in contrast to the Antique Silver Paint.

Here are some other views of the card... you can see the shimmer of the embossing powder and the paints.

And a recap of the paints/powder used on my card:

These colors look so great together... I'm thinking about making a canvas using these. I'd say a night sky theme would be good! ;)

I'll see you soon! Have a great day!

Card using Gelli Plate and CI Paints

Hi and Happy Friday everyone! It's Emily here, and today I have a colorful card I made using some wonderful Creative Inspirations Paints and embossing powders along with my Gelli Plate.

I was curious if the CI Paints would work differently on the Gelli Plate than typical acrylics, but guess what? They don't! They work just as well as basic acrylic paints! And with the CI Paints you get the added shimmer bonus!

Here is how my card turned out...

The sentiment was stenciled on with modeling paste and then I sealed it with Deliquesce Clear embossing powder. Deliquesce Fine Black embossing powder was used around the letters to make them pop. The whole card has this shimmer... in person it is awesome!

You can see some of the shimmer below....
This was definitely one of my favorite cards to make. I used Fuchsia and Denium CI Paints for the dots and chevron patterns. The yellow is a heavy body acrylic. I was originally afraid I would get a greenish color with the Denium over the yellow acrylic, but it didn't happen. That is one of the great things about the Creative Inspirations Paint. Since they are transparent, they will still retain their color when painted over another lighter color of paper or acrylic. And you can see the Denium dots through the Fuchsia in their original color as well. It's best to make sure that each layer is dry before adding another with the CI Paints in this kind of process. This is what I found was best. :)

Colors used in "High Five!" Card:

Thanks for joining me today! I will see you tomorrow with another card I made using a technique shared on an older tutorial post..... it's definitely a post you can't miss!

Fun Layout

Hello Everyone!!

It's Kendra from Luv 2 Scrap N' Make Cards, wanting to share a fun layout I recently created for my son's album.

The chipboard arrow on the top of the page was covered with Denium Creative Inspirations Paint.
After it dried I used a dot stamp and some Versamark ink to add the dots and embossed with Deliquesce Fine White Embossing Powder.

I just love how it turned out and kind of helps the eye lead you to my son in the picture!!

The heart was also a chipboard piece I covered with polka dot paper.  I used a pencil to dip the eraser end in Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations Paint and then dabbed it on the polka dots on the to give them shimmer as well as a little texture.
Lastly I used a glue pen to trace the "Love" sentiment and add Resplendence Angel Dust Glitter!

I just love my shimmery paints and other CI Products!!

Have a wonderful day!

Altered Pocket Hanging

Hi CIP fans!  Dana here today sharing an altered resin pocket. I found this pocket at one of my favorite discount stores and thought it would be fun to give it a facelift.  I added color and some fun shimmer to this piece with Denium (the perfect blue jean color), Rose Quartz and Onyx.

This flower really catches the light!

I painted the base around this quote in Onyx.  I added a light coat of Denium to the blue jean pocket.  Once dry, I highlighted several areas of this pocket piece with White Frost, for a more shabby feel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Casing It - Inspired by the CIDT

Hi CIP fans!  I hope you are all having a fabulous start to the New Year.  Dana here today sharing a tag I created for the Challenge theme for this week; Casing It. I'm inspired by my fellow Creative Inspirations Design Team members every day.  This tag was inspired by Kassi's Tissue Paper Tutorial.

Instead of using white tissue paper like Kassi, I chose a bright red.  I highlighted the crinkle texture of the tissue paper with Denium, Emerald and Gold paint. I love the vibrant shimmer of the CI paints and am thrilled that they show up well on a dark background! If you're looking for some inspiration for your next project, check out the Creative Inspirations Tutorials.

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with this week's challenge! Remember, you do not need to use CI Paints on your projects, but if you have them, we would love to see how you used them. As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

An Adoring Canvas

Hello to you all this Monday, I hope it is going well! Emily here today to share a canvas I created using loads of Creative Inspirations Paint along with some Deliquesce embossing powder.

The following paints and powder were used in today's canvas:

Creative Inspirations Paint

I used a 6"x12" stretched canvas. I primed it with Gesso before using my acrylic paints to paint the background and heart image. After the acrylics dried, I added my Creative Inspirations Paint in Tanzanite, Denium, Coal and Ice Blue all over the canvas by layering each color on and mixing them in various places, except for the red heart.

I just wasn't happy with the heart not having any dimension, so I added tissue paper, modeling paste and some heavy body acrylics to it. After it had all dried and hardened fully, I used more acrylic paints in red and then covered the acrylics with Rustic Red and Garnet Creative Inspirations Paint.

As you can see, I also added various stamps all over the canvas, and also for the word "adore" on the heart. After "adore" was stamped, I went over the letters with my Faber Castell markers and then again with CI Paint in Coal. I also used my markers to trace around the heart as well as add some doodles to it.

For a final touch I added Deliquesce Super Sparkle Pink embossing powder over the heart for even more sparkle and texture.

In the close up shots below you can just see all of the sparkle!
What's fantastic about these paints is that I can mix and layer them on my canvas for varying looks. :) You can do all sorts of fun things with these fantastic paints! Don't be afraid to mix things up!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your day and be sure to get Creative!

The kids get to ride their favorite spinny rides, eat junk food and enjoy the day with their friends.
So for my card today I went with a fair favorite....the candy apple!!

I used the adorable Bugaboo Stamp and colored him with my copics
but on top the colors
I added
CI Paints in
Denium, Evergreen, Carmel, Sunshine and Rustic Red.
It is hard to see in the picture (I tried to get a shimmery closeup)
but the image has some awesome shimmer!
Do you see more CI Paint products on my card????
There is...
Deliquesce Black embossing powder was used for my sentiment!

Full of Blessings

There is definitely a lot of CI paint on my card today. I thought I would try the watercolor whimsy technique from the current Technique Junkies newsletter. The art panel on my card is vellum. I painted the back with denium, spring green, and plum. The shimmer of the paints doesn't show through the vellum very much, but the colors are so deep and rich; they worked beautifully for the back. On the front I first used rose quartz, sage, mocha latte, and sky blue with a Crafters Workshop stencil. I then used a Cornish Heritage Farms background stamp stamped in black and highlighted with a white pen. The sentiment is from Artistic Outpost and is framed with a Spellbinders die cut. The flower is cut from fabric using a Tim Holtz die and was painted with rose quartz and spring green CI paint. The shimmer of the paint against the deep background is wonderful.

Stars 'n Stripes

Tomorrow is the 4th of July holiday (Independence Day) in the USA. So  I thought that a 4th of July card would be appropriate to feature today. Besides this week's CI blog challenge is Independence Day.
My card layout is based on the challenge this week at Mojo Monday. The flag background panel is an Our Daily Bread Designs background stamp. In order to color it the way I wanted, I stamped it in Memento London Fog. Then I brought out my denim, garnet, and winter frost CI paints and painted the flag. I dry embossed the dark blue core'dinations panel with a Cuttlebug folder, sanded the stars, and then went over the stars with fairy dust paint. The center oval was a bit of an experiment. I spread gel medium on my nonstick mat and placed the stamp in the glue. Then I stamped the fireworks (Northwoods) on a piece of white cardstock. I quickly added Resplendence (CI glitter) emerald, regal red, and gold. This made some very sparkly fireworks. (It's important to wash the stamp off immediately before the gel dries.) The 4 is from Tim Holtz's Idea-ology line. I painted it with garnet paint and quickly sprinkled it with Resplendence regal red. The glitter stuck to the paint like it was glued. I think this card celebrates the 4th quite effectively with all of its sparkle and shimmer.

Memory Book 'Page' with Chipboard Elements and Tag

This fortnight for Creative Inspirations Paint, I thought I would show my 'work in progress' on my Memory Album.  This is one of the pages inside where the torn/distressed edges were painted with 'Gold', allowing for a really aged appearance.

I'm not the best stamper (learning the art), so I tried to attempt to create an embossed image, which was not really sucessful, but practice will make perfect.  Sadly, I cannot tell you which colours in the 'Deliquesce' range I used, as I packed them up before writing them down (with the thought of throwing my tag out).  I played around a little with using the Denium and Sky Blue Creative Inspirations Paints on the background, trying to meld one into the other. The more I played, the more I liked it, so thus, my tag did not end up in the bin.

The silk ribbon was painted with straight Denium, and here and there a touch of Blush.

The Imaginarium Designs chipboard butterfly was painted using the Sky Blue, then touched (while still wet) with Denium, blending the two together.  I am unsure what the green spot is, must be something spilled onto the chipboard before painting.  It does not show in real, only in the photographs!
I used a lone Prima Marketing flower in white, painting it in the same colours as the tag - Denium and Sky Blue. A light touch of the paintbrush to the edges of each layer of the flower with the Denium paint, gave more definition and character.  Before the paint totally dried (you have to work quick as it does dry fairly quickly) I rolled the flower in Resplendence 'Angel Dust' - my new favourite in the Creative Inspirations Range.  Oh my goodness, it is sooooo delightful, the colours are beyond amazing and a little, goes a very long way.
Applying Gold to the edges of the actual book, and then the torn/distressed edges gave a beautiful shimmer, and replicates an older era of 'book'.
Supplies:
Creative Inspiration Paints: Denium, Sky Blue, Gold, Blush, Resplendence 'Angel Dust'

Prima Marketing: White Flower

Silk Ribbon: Hand-Dyed with Blush & Denium Creative Inspiration Paints
