Pretty Pumpkin

My mom was visiting the other day and went shopping at JoAnn's.  She found this pumpkin-shaped yard stake that she really liked so she bought it.
When I saw it I loved the different textures and patterns that were used and was inspired by it.  So I used that inspiration to create a card.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used dark green card stock for the card base.  I then cut some ivory colored card stock that has a slight swirl pattern to it for my next mat.  It is 5 3/8"x4 1/8."  The brown damask print is 5 1/8"x3 7/8."

I used some ovals from the "Days and Dates" cartridge to create my pumpkin.  The ovals are about 3 3/8" tall, or wide (since that is how they actually cut).  I used a plaid patterned card stock for the outermost two ovals.  The other three are solid orange card stock.  I ran two of them through my paper crimper and embossed the last one.  I used the Victoria Cuttlebug folder, covering it with vintage photo Distress Ink before putting in my oval.  I also inked its edges with vintage photo Distress Ink, the other four ovals are inked with tea dye Distress Ink.  I also cut two ovals from a dark orange card stock for the back of the pumpkin.

The stem is from the "Trick or Treat" cartridge.  It is part of a jack-o-lantern cut, but I only used the stem and sized it to fit my pumpkin.  The leaves are from the "Simply Scarecrow" cartridge.
The tag was created with metal dies from My Craft Spot, called Tiny Tags Metal Dies.  The sentiment is also from My Craft Spot and designed to fit the tags, it is from a set called Tiny Tags 3.  I wrapped the stem of the pumpkin three times with green twine, then tied three pieces through the hole in the tag.

I adhered the pieces of the pumpkin together with foam tape.  I then adhered the whole pumpkin to the card base with two layers of foam tape in the middle and gluing the edges right down to the card.  I like the curved dimensional effect it creates.
