Garden Fairy

I worked on a home decor project instead of a card today.

I used a 10"x10" basswood canvas and painted its edges brown.  I then cut out my scene and adhered it to the canvas.  The entire scene is from a digital Cricut cartridge called "Dimensional Scenes - Fairy Tales."  I cut it at 10."  I used foam tape on the fairy, some of the grass, and two of the butterflies.  The butterflies are from the "Kate's ABCs" cartridge.  I hid the face on the fairy and used a stamp from Peachy Keen instead.  It is from the Black Eyed Peaches Face Assortment.  I added a little detail with a white gel pen.  I finished this piece off with some enamel dots for the flower centers, Wink of Stella on the butterfly wings, and dark blue Stickles on the blue of the fairy wings.

I made this for the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut: things with wings
My Sheri Crafts: create something 3D - with lots of dimension
City Crafter Challenge Blog: fairy tale element
Crazy 4 Challenges: emerald green color
The ABC Challenge Blog: G is for Grand - anything but a card
Pile It On: garden creatures

Baby Name Sign

One of my friends had her third baby, this time a girl.  So, I got to make a girly name sign.  I don't usually do girly, so it was fun to do something a little different.

I have the sign hanging above one of my bookshelves, so ignore the not-so-kid friendly books such as H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allan Poe.

I used a float frame to make this one.  The frame is 16"x8 1/2."  I cut some patterned paper with clouds on it to 6" tall.  I had to use two pieces to make it the 14" length, but the image mostly covers the seam.  I put the paper between the two panes of glass of the float frame.  The images and name are all cut from vinyl and adhered to the outside of the front pane of glass.

The pegasus image is from "Fantasy," a digital cartridge.  It is cut at 7."  The butterflies are part of a cut from "Kate's ABCs."  The image is on page 56 of the handbook.  I hid everything but the butterflies and sized them to fit the sign.  The larger butterfly is 1.87" and the smaller one is 1.37."  The name is made from the Tiny Treasures cartridge by Creative Memories.  You get the font using the "sweet pea" feature.

Sea Life Wall Art

I mentioned in my post yesterday, that I had been in Washington visiting my friends and their 9 month old baby.  I made a name sign for their son a while back, you can see that here, and gave it to them while we were visiting.  My husband hung the signs up and I decorated the wall next to it with some vinyl cut in sea life inspired shapes.

The name sign was made with "Extreme Fonts" and "Art Nouveau."  For more information, see the original post, here.

Here is a better look at the sea life wall.

The sea weed is from "Life is a Beach."
The fish is from "Four Legged Friends."  I just eliminated a couple of layers and flipped it.
The bubbles are from "A Child's Year."  I flipped them to work with the fish.

The sea weed is from "Word Builders 3: An Ocean of Words."
The fish and bubbles are from "This & That."  This is a Creative Memories cartridge.

The octopus is from "ZooBalloo."
The bubbles on the right are from "A Child's Year."  Like bubbles with the fish, they are flipped.
The bubbles on the left are from "Kate's ABCs."  They are just two of the bubbles in the bubble bath word title.

Little Darling

This adorable card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used brown cardstock for the card base.  I cut some multi-colored polka dot cardstock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8."  I then cut more brown cardstock at 4 7/8"x3 5/8."  I cut some white cardstock at 4 3/4"x3 1/2" and then embossed it with the Juli's Garden embossing folder.  I added some pearls to the middle of the flowers.

I used Kate's ABCs for my cute little girl pushing her buggy.  She is cut at 3 1/2."  I added pearls to the flowers on the ground and the flower on her pocket.  I adhered her to the card with pop-dots.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I cut the cardstock that it was stamped on into a banner and ahered it to the card.

Queen Bee Tee

I have had my Yudu for over a year now, but have never used it. I have used a Yudu before, I used to teach and demo at my old store, but I never set up my own and used it. This is also the first time I have made an image with multiple layers. Everytime I demoed or taught the Yudu at work I made single layer images. This was an interesting process, but I think the t-shirt turned out cute! Here it is:
I made this for my cousin's daughter. I made all the invites and decorations for the party and thought I would create a t-shirt as her birthday gift. I kept the bee theme. I used Kate's ABCs for the queen bee. I cut it at 4," and all its layers. I used all those pieces to burn the screens and create the t-shirt. I used the silver Yudu glitter for the crown. Since there was no yellow layer on this bee I used a paint pen to color in the yellow parts. Once everything was dry and heat set I added a googly eye and some gems on the crown. I used the irock by Imaginisce to apply the gems.

Cute as a Button

This is a two page 8"x8" layout. The background paper is from the Sweet Stack by DCWV. I wrapped one of the pages with a pink ribbon, then tied a bow and adhered it to the ribbon. I topped off the bow with a button from my stash. The title, "cute as a button" is from Kate's ABCs and cut at 2." I used another button from my stash for the center of the flower. I cut mats for two photos. The one on the left hand page is for a 3 1/2"x5" photo and the one on the right is for a 4"x6" photo. I cut both layers 1/8" larger than the previous layer and then wrapped them with some ribbon. The lamb and the bear are from the Sugar and Spice Lite cartridge. I cut the lamb at 2" and flocked it with some pink flocking and used some black pearls for eyes. The bear is cut at 3." I used a Peachy Keen stamp for her face and used some tropical tangerine Stickles on her bow. The pink outfit and safety pins are both from New Arrival. The outfit is cut at 3 1/2." I used a button for the center of the flower on it as well. The safety pins are cut at 2." I added some tropical tangerine Stickles to the heart on one of the safety pins and used glossy accents on the two pink ones. I used pop-dots to adhere all the images to the layout, except the saftey pins.

Kitty & Butterflies

This card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4" and made with a dark green cardstock. I then cut a light green cardstock at 4 1/4"x6." I drew swirls all over with a green marker and then went over them with some lime green Stickles. I then wrapped the card with some ribbon. The cat and butterflies all came from Kate's ABCs. The cat is cut at 3 1/2." I covered the kitty with some glitter. The set of butterflies was cut at 2 1/2." I embossed all the wings of the butterflies with the D'vine Swirls embossing folder. On the largest butterfly I added a button for its head and used some black diamond Stickles on his body. I pop-dotted the orange flower, small yellow butterfly and the orange butterfly. Enjoy!!
