Sea Life Wall Art

I mentioned in my post yesterday, that I had been in Washington visiting my friends and their 9 month old baby.  I made a name sign for their son a while back, you can see that here, and gave it to them while we were visiting.  My husband hung the signs up and I decorated the wall next to it with some vinyl cut in sea life inspired shapes.

The name sign was made with "Extreme Fonts" and "Art Nouveau."  For more information, see the original post, here.

Here is a better look at the sea life wall.

The sea weed is from "Life is a Beach."
The fish is from "Four Legged Friends."  I just eliminated a couple of layers and flipped it.
The bubbles are from "A Child's Year."  I flipped them to work with the fish.

The sea weed is from "Word Builders 3: An Ocean of Words."
The fish and bubbles are from "This & That."  This is a Creative Memories cartridge.

The octopus is from "ZooBalloo."
The bubbles on the right are from "A Child's Year."  Like bubbles with the fish, they are flipped.
The bubbles on the left are from "Kate's ABCs."  They are just two of the bubbles in the bubble bath word title.

Christmas Boxes

I had to wait to post these since they are gifts for my mom and brother. My mom checks my blog almost daily and didn't want to ruin the surprise. I used my Gypsy to size everything and all the patterned paper is from the Merry Christmas Stack by DCWV. The solid papers came from my stash.

These are three gift boxes I made for some small gifts that I gave to my mom and my brother. The pillow box is for a coffee gift card for my mom, as is the armadillo tree box. Inside, there is a small carved armadillo that I got her when I went to Belize, hence the armadillo on the front. The pillow box was cut from Wrap It Up at 6." I created a band to go around the box using a border from the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art cartridge. It is cut at 1 1/4" and then wrapped around the box. My mug is cut from Everday Pop Up Cards at 3 1/2." The snowflake on the mug is from Winter Lace, cut at 1 1/4." I added some star dust Stickles on the steam and some lime green Stickles to the snowflake.

For the armadillo box I used the tree-shaped box on Tags, Bags, Boxes & More. The armadillo is from Birthday Bash, cut at 2." His eyes and nose are black pearls and I used a candy cane sticker to give him a little Christmas treat. I finished off the box with a shimmery red bow.

This little box is a gift for my brother. I got him a carved turtle when I was in Belize and this is the box I created for it. The box is from Wrap It Up. I cut the turtle at 2" from Four Legged Friends and his Santa hat is from Pooh and Friends, cut at 1."

Sleepy Puppy

This is a double layout (12"x12") that I created in memory of my German Shepherd, Gin. We just recently had to put him down and I thought this would be a nice way of remembering him. I have enough pictures of him to give him his own scrapbook, so I probably will eventually. The papers/cardstock I used are a mixture of DCWV's Pets Stack, TPC Studio's Paws and Claws Dog stack and ones I had in my stash. I matted all five of my pictures. The two on the left hand page are both 4"x6," as is the vertical picture on the right hand page. The other two on the right hand page are 3 1/2"x5." I matted all of the pictures with a brown paw print cardstock (which is hard to tell), cut 1/4" larger than the pictures. For all but the vertical one, I matted them with the blue cardstock, cut 1/8" larger than the brown mat. On the vertical picture the blue mat is 1/4" larger than the brown. I also gave that one a third mat out of orange, also 1/4" larger. I wrapped the right hand page with two ribbons, the orange bones and brown paws, then added three buttons that I found in my stash and thought were perfect. I cut the large circle from the dotted cardstock at 10" using the pre-loaded E2 cartridge, Cricut Essentials. I used Paper Pups to cut my title. The "puppy" cut was actually "puppy love" on the cartridge, I just didn't cut out the "love" part and paired it with the "sleepy" cut. I used both the shadow and the regular feature to create my title, which is cut at 2." I cut the little dog from Four Legged Friends, at 3 1/2." I used a light ivory color for the body, then chalked over it with some brown chalk to give it a little texture and make it a little darker. I also added some glossy accents to the nose. The tag was created from a mixture of cartridges. The actual tag and its shadow (brown and orange pieces) are from All Mixed Up, cut at 4." The blue paw print circle is from Paper Pups and the ivory circle inside is from George and Basic Shapes. I used my Gypsy to lay it out so that I could make sure the sizes were right and would fit together how I wanted them to. I put a brad through the hole in the tag so that the tag is interactive, it swings to reveal my journaling spot.

I made this for the following challenges:

My Sheri Crafts: faithful companions

Picture Perfect Creations: two ribbons, three buttons

Whimsical Wednesday: scrapbook page with interactive element

Get Your Bark On!

This is my last card for the day. I think it will work quite well as a masculine birthday card. This is a 4 1/2"x6 1/4" card. I used cream cardstock for the base of the card, then cut some patterned brown paper 1/8" smaller and mounted that on the card base. I then used some patterned orange cardstock for the next layer, cut at 4"x5 3/4." I tied a bow with some brown ribbon around the orange cardstock and then mounted that to the card. I cut a brown square at 3 1/2," an orange square at 3 3/8," then a cream square at 3 1/4." I embossed the cream cardstock with the Argyle folder. The dog is cut from Four Legged Friends at 2 3/4." All the cardstock is from TPC Studios, except the cream cardstock and the patterned brown paper. I stamped the sentiment, from Scrappy Mom's Stamps, on some orange cardstock. I used jumbo java ink from Tsukineko. The eyes of the dog are gems and I also added some gems in the four corners of the square.
I made this for the Jitterbuggin' challenge. The challenge this week is to make something using brown and one other color and to add a bow somewhere on your creation. I am also entering this into the Paper Cutz challenge. Their challenge is to make a project using any theme and any colors you like.
