Cupcakes!

I have cupcakes for you today!

Both cards are 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used white card stock for the card base.  I then used one of the Card Mat Dies from Jaded Blossom to cut the happy birthday word card stock.  The scallop oval is also from Jaded Blossom, the Scallop Oval Dies set.

The bears are from My Scrap Chick, they are part of the Birthday Bears cut set.  I inked around the edges of the bears with tea dye Distress Ink and around the icing of the cupcakes with tumbled glass Distress Ink (blue) and Victorian velvet Distress Ink (pink).  I also added a little white gel pen doodling.

The icing trim and on the hand are both adhered with foam tape.  I also adhered the whole bear with foam tape for dimension.

I used Peachy Keen faces on both bears.  They are both from the Teddy Bear Assortment.  The sentiment is also from Jaded Blossom.  It is part of the Hey Cupcake stamp set.

I made this for the following challenges:
City Crafter Challenge Blog: use the word "you"
My Sheri Crafts: teddy bear
Crafty Creations: word/letters on background
Cute Card Thursday: words/numbers

Father's Day Cards

I made the cards I need for Father's Day already.  I feel so prepared!

These shaped cards are both from My Scrap Chick.

The first one is the Sweater Vest Card.

I embossed the sweater with the Argyle Cuttlebug folder.  The collars are popped up with foam tape and I used real buttons.

Both sentiments are from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  The front sentiment is embossed with sliver embossing powder.

This one is the Men's Suit Card.

I inked around the edges of the lapels, collars, and tie with faded jeans Distress Ink.  The collars are popped up with foam tape.  I used a button-shaped brad in place of the button.

I used the same Scrappy Moms Stamps sentiments on this card as well.  The sentiment on the tie was heat embossed with a navy embossing powder.

Pumpkin Treat Box

I actually got some time to craft today!  I got a rare Saturday off from work, and I am all caught up with homework and reading, so I took advantage!

I used a cut file from My Scrap Chick for the treat box.  It is from a file called Halloween Boxes, but it no longer available.  All assembled it stands about 3 3/4" tall.  I inked around the edges of all the pieces for some dimension, then added some faux stitching around the pumpkin pieces.

The face is from Peachy Keen Stamps, the In Stitches Face Assortment.  I covered the nose in orange peel Stickles, and colored in the mouth with an orange marker.  Then I finished off the face with a white gel pen.

The banner and sentiment are both from Jaded Blossom.  The banner is from the Mini Tag Dies 2 set and the sentiment is from the Harvest Signs set.  I used a punch for the leaves, then finished it off with a little yellow and red bling.

I made this for the following challenges:
Friday Mashup: 3d project
Jaded Blossom: fall colors
My Sheri Crafts: thinking of fall
Die Cuttin' Divas: 3d project

Bookworm

The card I made today features a cute little bookworm:

The card base was made with a cut file from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Trapezoid Card Base.  I cut two of the layers, one larger than the other to create two mats.

The bookworm is from My Scrap Chick.  I got it as part of a file called Bugs & Things, but you can now purchase it individually as a file called Bookworm.  I inked up the edges of his nose with peeled paint Distress Ink and the edges of his body with crushed olive Distress Ink.  I did not cut his eyes, instead I used stamps from a Peachy Keen face.  The eyes are from one of the largest face stamp of the Cornies Assortment.  I used foam tape to adhere the top part of the book to the worm.

The stack of books is also from SVG Cutting Files.  It is part of a cut file called Pebbles the Cat.  I used foam tape to adhere the whole piece, worm and books, to the card.

The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, the Catch the Reading Bug set.  Once the sentiment was stamped I used my Cuttlebug and the Seeing Spots folder to emboss the white mat.

Snowman Hugs...

I made a little treat box today.

This one is shaped like a coffee mug.  I used a cut file from My Scrap Chick called Full Cup Treat Holders.  I used the "scooped top" mug and cut it so that, when assembled, it is about 4" tall.

The snowman is from the "Snow Friends" Cricut cartridge.  I cut it at 4."  I did hide the face using Cricut Craft Room so that I could use a Peachy Keen stamp for the face.  It comes from the Happy Lashes Face Assortment.  I used some markers to color in the nose and mouth.  I added a couple of navy blue buttons for a little embellishment.  I also added some glossy accents to the snowman's boots.  The snowman is mounted on the mug with foam tape.

The sentiment and the banner  on which it is stamped are from My Craft Spot.  The sentiment is from the Think Snow set and the banner is one of the metal dies, Ribbon Banners - Arched.  I adhered it on some toothpicks to mount it at the top of the mug.

I made this for the following challenges:

Penguin Gift Box

Part of the Christmas present for my father and his wife is a gift card to one of their favorite restaurants.  Today I made a box in which to put that gift card.

The box is from a set called Winter Paver Favor Boxes & Cards by My Scrap Chick.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out.  Once it is all assembled it stands about 5 1/4" tall, by 3 3/4" wide, and 1 3/4" thick.  I did alter its size a little, so that at its widest point the box perfectly fits a gift card.

Before putting the white part of the penguin on the top of the box I wrapped it with some red and white twine.  I also made sure the run the twine through the hole of my tag.  The tag is from the "Mickey and Friends" Cricut cartridge.  It can be found on page 116 of the handbook, the icon feature.  I cut it at 1 1/4."  I cut the white layer twice, once for the front and once for the back.  I used stamps from My Craft Spot for the sentiments.  Both of them are from the Tiny Tags Christmas set.

I embellished the penguin with some little buttons that I made using the "Cricut Essentials" cartridge.  They can be found on page 42 of the handbook, using the shift function.  I cut each one three times, at 1/2," to make them nice and thick.  I inked around the edge of everything (buttons, beak, feet, bow tie) with tea dye Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

I decided not to use the eyes that come with the box.  Instead I stamped some eyes using Peachy Keen stamps.  The eyes are from the Erkle & Merkle Face Assortment.

I made this for the following challenges:

My Craft Spot: 3D Christmas
