Summer Celebrations - Creation #3

See if you can believe this one, but I managed to make a Christmas card using the "Summer Celebrations" cartridge.  That's right...a Christmas card.  Who knew?!  Here it is:

I used the "My World" cartridge to create the card base, using Cricut Craft Room.  I used the frame feature and hid all the contours in one of them, leaving the second one with the fence.  I welded the two together to create my card base, it is 5"x5."  I cut a smaller rounded square at 4 3/4" out of some snowflake patterned paper from DCWV for my background.

I used "Summer Celebrations" for my moose.  I cut the moose head at 4."  It actually goes with a Canadian flag, but I only used the moose.  I also used "Summer Celebrations" for the body of the moose.  It is actually one of the tags on the cartridge.  I covered both the body and the moose's head with some brown flocking powder.  I adhered the body behind the fence and the head with some pop-dots.  I covered his antlers in crackle accents and his hooves and eyes in glossy accents.

I tied some red and white baker's twine into bows to add to my fence posts.  My sentiment is computer generated and I trimmed the cardstock into a banner.  I used glue dots and pop-dots to adhere the banner, to give it some depth and make it seem like it is waving.  I finished off the card with a snowflake button on the left side of the banner.

He's Making a List

This card is 5"x5." I used red cardstock for the base and trimmed some patterned paper 1/8" smaller. I used mystic green Stickles around the edge of the patterned paper. The list is cut from My World. I used my Gypsy to hide the writing on the scroll, it normally says "We the people." I then used a tan colored marker to draw in the details. I used a Scrappy Moms Stamp to create the "naughty" and "nice." I stamped them in pearlescent beige ink by Tsukineko. Santa is cut at 3" and I pop-dotted him to the card. I added some diamond Stickles to his beard and hat trim, I also flocked the red part of the hat. The sentiment is stamped in pearlescent ivy ink, by Tsuikeno. The sentiment is also from Scrappy Moms Stamps. I matted it and added some diamond Stickles around the edge of the white.

I made this card for the following challenges:

Card Creations & More Challenge #9

It is challenge time at Card Creations & More! This week's "So Saturday Challenge" is challenge #9, use some sort of embossing.
I created a 12"x12" layout. These are some more pictures from my trip to Sweden, back when I was in high school. You can see some pictures of the castle I saw in yesterday's post. :) The background cardstock is from K&Company. The two corner pictures are 3 1/2"x5" and the middle picture is 3"x6." I matted each picture with some teal cardstock, cut 1/8" larger than the picture. The journaling part is 3 1/4"x4 3/4." I matted it with some light blue cardstock cut at 3 1/2"x5" and some teal cardstock cut 1/8" larger than the blue. The ship is cut from My World at 3 1/2" and the waves are cut from Life is a Beach at 1 1/2." I then embossed the waves with my Cuttlebug and the D'vine Swirls folder. The title is cut from Robotz, using the font shadow and font feature. I then embossed the white regular layer with the Polka Dots embossing folder.

Now head on over to Card Creations & More by C and check out what the rest of the design team has embossed. Then enter your own embossed creation! I can't wait to see what you come up with!! :)

More Classmates Cards

Okay, so I have more cards made with the classmates cartirdges than I realized. See what happens when I am not sitting in my craft room with my cartridges in front of me? ;) I keep forgetting that My World and My Community are classmates cartridges, I just lump them with the shape cartridges, and for some reason I just skipped over Learning Curve. So here are the cards made with those cartridges. :)

The card on the left is made with Learning Curve. The card is a pre-made A2 card, with the pattern already on it. I cut the letters from Learning Curve in dark green paper, using the shadow feature. I then cut them again, regularly, with gold paper. I don't remember at what size they were cut. I then adhered them on, using pop dots on some of them for a variety of texture. The card on the right is from My Community, and is a 5"x5" square card. The background papers are from Me & My Big Idea. The green tree paper is a flocked paper. The gingerbread house is from My Community, cut at 4 1/2." I cut out all the pieces multiple times, in multiple colors. I then adhered them all down on the house, I used some pop dots on the gumdrops and truffle. I used a lot of Stickes and glitter on this one. The gumdrops are covered in glitter, from Martha Stewart. The roof and snow on the chimney are icicle Stickles, I also used Stickles on the candy canes and dots on the house. I used a white gel pen for the swirl on the truffle and the salt on the pretzel.
This last card, and I promise it is the last classmates cartridge card, is from My World. I used another pre-made A2 card. The car is from My World. I cut it using the shadow feature in white, then the regular cut in red and the wheels in black. I placed some vellum behind the windows for a litte more realism. The sentiment is computer generated and cut with my scalloped circle Nestabilities.

Cornucopia

Here is an autumn card I made that I actually like a lot! I've been making a few, but most I haven't liked or I thought they were so-so, but this one I really like. :) The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used paper from Debbie Mumm's Harvest and Holiday paper stack that I got last year. The background paper, the strip of yellow patterned paper, the patterned border paper, and the paper for the cornucopia are all from that stack. The rest of the plain paper is from my stash, I got to use some more scraps for this one. :) I laid out all the pieces on my Gypsy so I could figure out how I wanted it to look and how big to cut everything. I don't remember sizes of everything anymore, except the sentiment. That was cut at 3/4." The cornucopia itself came from Paper Doll Dress Up. The pumpkin came from Everyday Paper Dolls. The corn and apple are from My World. Finally, the wheat stalks, squash, tomato and cucumber and the sentiment are all from Country Life.

This card is being entered into the following challenges:
Paper Playtime: autumn
Paper Sundaes: fall/halloween colors
My Sheri Crafts: autumn
Fantabulous Cricut: in my garden harvest time
Pile It On: red, brown, green, yellow
