Beautiful Butterfly

I actually made this for my mother for Mother's Day.  I didn't post it when I made it so that my mother wouldn't see it.  However, I subsequently forgot to post it.  So, here it is (finally):

The butterflies are from Jaded Blossom, the Butterflies stamp set.  The sentiment on the front of the card is from My Craft Spot.  The interior sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder to emboss the white mat on the front of the card.

Sassy

Since I start school tomorrow I had to make sure that I got a little crafting in today.  This is the card I made:

The card is 5"x7" and made of dark purple card stock.  The yellow polka dot card stock is 4 3/4"x6 3/4."  The dark purple square is 4 1/2"x4 1/2" and the light purple square is 4 3/8"x4 3/8."  The background mat is made with the "Elegant Edges" Cricut cartridge.  I cut it at 4" wide.  It is embossed with the Sizzix Bubble Wrap embossing folder.  The scallop border is from the "Holiday Cakes" cartridge.  I cut it at 5" wide, then added a small strip of dark purple card stock at the top of it.

The girl is from SVG Cutting Files, it is called Sassy Thing.  She is cut at 4" tall.  I added some purple glitter to her top and used some purple gems for her hair.  I used Wink of Stella on her lips, shoes, and eyelashes.  I covered her eye and mouth with glossy accents.  I also inked her hair with Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  She is adhered to the card with foam tape.

The sentiment is stamped on a speech bubble from "Photo Booth Props."  I cut it at just over 2" wide and hid the words that were supposed to be cut with the bubble.  I then used a Jaded Blossom stamp for the sentiment.  It is from the Sassy Pants set.  I used foam tape to adhere this as well.

I cut another piece of the yellow polka dot card stock at 4 3/4"x6 3/4."  I then cut a piece of dark purple card stock at 3"x5" and some white card stock at 2 7/8"x4 7/8."  I used another stamp from the Sassy Pants set by Jaded Blossom for the sentiment.

I made this for the following challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges: bubble (I used a speech bubble & the bubble wrap embossing)
Pile It On: use something that starts with the first letter of your first name (purple & polka dots)
Seize the Birthday: anything goes
Naughty or Nice Challenges: silly (this sentiment makes me giggle)

Flower and Flourish

We've started keeping track of people's birthdays at work.  So, I have taken it upon myself to make cards for everyone.  I have to plan ahead so that we can get them signed by everyone (or nearly everyone) before their actual birthday, but I think I can manage.  I might have to write down our birthady list to keep at home!  This is for a woman who's birthday is coming up in about a week and a half.
This one is pretty simple, but I like how it turned out.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used white cardstock for the card base.  I cut some dark purple cardstock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8" and more white cardstock at 5 1/8"x3 7/8."  I stamped the senitment in dusty concord Distress Ink, by Ranger, and embossed it with the Cuttlebug folder, Swiss Dots.

The flower and flourish are a Sizzix die.  I inked the edges of the flowers with more dusty concord ink and I inked the leaf with peeled paint Distress Ink.  The leaf is acutally the middle of part of the flourish.  I adhered the flourish to the card, then adhered the end of the leaf down and popped up the rest of it with some foam tape.  I curled up the edges of the flowers and adhered them together, then to the card.  The middle of the flower is a gem from Recollections.

I made this using the color challenge for "Day 39" at 365 Cards.

Perfect Sentiments: "Clean and Simple Fall"

It's Wednesday and that means time for another challenge at The Perfect Sentiment!!
This week our challenge is "Clean and Simple Fall"
The challenge: create a card with a sentiment for fall or Thanksgiving
The twist: make it clean and simple
Here is the card I made for the challenge:
I made the card 4 1/2"x6 1/4" from a brown cardstock.  I trimmed some golden colored cardstock at 4 3/8"x6 1/8."  I cut some more brown cardstock at 4 1/8"x5 7/8."  I then cut some shimmery ivory cardstock at 4"x5 3/4" and then embossed it with the Tim Holtz embossing folder called Thankful Print, by Sizzix.  I cut a strip of brown cardstock at 4 1/8"x2 1/2"  I cut some gold cardstock at 4"x2 3/8."  I used Autumn Celebrations to cut the sentiment at 2 1/4."  I added burgundy and cinnamon Stickles to the red swirl and the word "grateful."  I also added some glossy accents to the word "be."  I used a Marvy Uchida punch for the maple leaf, which I covered with crackle accents and adhered to the card with pop-dots.  Nice and easy!
Now it is your turn to create a clean and simple fall card.  Be sure to link it up at The Perfect Sentiment.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Bee Day Card

I finally made the birthday card for my cousin's daughter. :) I made it quick tonight since the birthday party is tomorrow and I have a three hour drive to get there. I used the same layout on my card that I used for my two Halloween cards I made yesterday since I knew all the cut sizes and figured it would go quick. I also used Trick or Treat again.
The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and is folded at the top. The black cardstock is 1/8" smaller than the card base and the yellow polka dotted cardstock is 1/8" smaller than the black. I used Elegant Edges to cut the mat at 4." I embossed the white layer of the mat with a Tim Holtz Sizzix embossing folder called honeycomb. I used Trick or Treat for my little bee girl and cut her at 3 1/2." I flocked her hair, added glossy accents to her tongue, yellow Stickles to the antennae and stripes, and gave her pearls for eyes. I stamped a sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps on a white banner that I hand cut and used some pop-dots in the center to lift it up. I finished it off with some black pearls on the edges of the banner. Quick and easy!

Bee-Day Party Goodies

I have already posted the invitations and the banner for my cousin's daughter's birthday party. Well, here is the rest of the stuff I have made.
I made some cupcake toppers. I used Live Simply and cut the bee/daisy at 3." I gave them a cute Peachy Keen face, since I used faces on all the bees and then adhered them to popsicle sticks. I created some treat bags. I used a sandwich sized bag and some jelly beans that I got for a steal! I used Elegant Edges to create the bag topper. It is cut at 7 1/4." I then used Sentimentals for the "bee happy" phrase, cut at 1 1/2" and the bee from Create a Critter, cut at 3," with the Peachy Keen face of course. I stapled on the black label, then glued on the white layer. I used pop-dots to adhere the bee for a little dimension.
I also created the thank you cards. They are 5 1/2"x 4 1/4." I used the honeycomb Tim Holtz embossing folder by Sizzix with my Cuttlebug and the yellow cardstock. I used a Scrappy Moms stamp for the sentiment on the front of the card and a Paper Smooches stamp for the inside. I then colored the "thanks" part of the sentiment with a yellow marker. The bee is again Create a Critter, cut at 3 1/2," and give a Peachy Keen face.
The rest of the small bees are leftovers from the treat bags. I didn't know how many I would need when I started working on them and wound up with too many!
