ODBDSLC30 White and Bright

HELLO AND HAPPY SATURDAY!

Today is the Shining Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs! Our challenge this week is to  to make your creations white and bright. Use all white on your card except for your stamped image and embellishments. That means no designer paper unless it is all white.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, September 23rd  on the Our Daily Bread Designs BlogOne random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. We will even choose a few Shining Light Awards for those who participate. Check out the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog for even more details!

Today, will be a day of cleaning for me. I personally think cleaning makes me ugly, but I know it blesses my man. So I do what I can! J I am not going to do a deep clean, because I have some stamping to get done too. We are having some guests over for our monthly Game Night tonight, so I do need to do SOME cleaning. I gave them a “warning” though that my house will not be perfect due to some deadlines I have and home schooling. They do not really mind. We all have the motto “ come to spend time with us, not our house!” The beauty of friendship!

Now – do you want to know about my card? Here are the details…

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE: COLOR CHALLENGE - BLUE, GREEN AND BROWN

Happy Friday! Do you know what is funny? I work at home and so you would think that most days it wouldn't matter what "day" it is. Fridays always seem to give me a feeling of freedom and hope. My husband travels a lot for work, and with Friday, I know he may be coming home. While I love my children with all of my heart, it is a welcome time when he is home because of what I like to call the "Testosterone Factor." The "Testosterone Factor" is when the children will behave differently with dad... While there are the same consequences for many of my children's behaviors, Dad being home brings us a sense of peace, calm and comfort! The depth of his voice always brings things under control faster than anything Mom can do! While I can give them the "evil eye", raise my voice, send them to their room, etc., nothing can stop a quarrel faster than the depth of my man's voice saying "Enough!" So after what seems like a week of endless bickering, I look forward to my man returning home. Yippee!

You probably came here to see my card and not hear about why I love Fridays. Right? *SMILE* Today, is Blogger Challenge Day! This week's Bloggers Challenge is to create a project using Blue, Green and Brown...

My first project uses all three of these colors with some yellow too... I just loved this paper and wanted to use it! My card uses QKR Stampede  adorable image called Nurse on Neenah Cream card stock and Memento Black Ink. Colored my image up with my Copic Markers and did a touch of airbrushing with my BG000 Copic Marker.

I used SU Autumn Spice Designer Paper that has just a touch of texture- LOVE IT! Colored my image up with my Copic Markers. Added some faux stitching around the Nurse image with SU's retired All In a Row stamp (once of my MOST used stamps ever!) I attached the image with Dimensionals, then added a few Water Dew Drops with some mono glue dots. The card stock I used is Espresso and Wild Wasabi. To top it off, I added a BIG BOW with luscious satin ribbon!

Other Challenges for this card are the Truly Scrumptious - sketch and Blue & Green, Belli Challenge - Something with a B (brown and Bow), Gingerloft Challenges - Anything Goes, Paper Sundaes - Anything in threes - Dew Drops!

My second card uses QKR Stampede's Pumpkin Vine stamp. It is sooo much fun to color! For this project I used Creative Inspiration Paints, Winter Frost mixed with some ink pad refills and painted with my water color paint brush! These paints are great to work with! Easy to use and clean up easily with soap and water! Best of all... check out that shimmer! Sooooo Pretty!

The paper I used is Basic Grey Archaic DP, Moss, Chocolate Chip and Cream Neenah cardstock. I cut the half circles out using my Creative Memories Circle Cutter and punched the edge with a Martha Stewart punch that embossed at the same time.  The stitching is once again (the only kind I do! *smile*) is faux stitching with the All in a Row stamp set. I added a bow with Chocolate Satin ribbon and the Cowboy Dew Drops are attached with mini Glue Dots. I have a few angles so you can see the shimmer of the Creative Inspirations Paint.

Here are a few more challenges for my second card for today...
Mercy's Tuesday SketchTruly Scrumptious - sketch and Blue & Green, Belli Challenge Something with a B (brown and Bow), Gingerloft Challenges Anything Goes, Paper Sundaes - Anything in threes - Dew Drops!, Kaboodle Doodles - Inspiration challenge (I chose some of the colors!)

OK - I need to get busy today! My to do list is quite long! I hope you have a fabulous day! Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to check out MORE ideas with this color combo by clicking on the Bloggers Challenge Badge along my side bar!

Enjoy your day and SMILE!!!!

AWARENESS BLOG HOP AND BELLI CHALLENGE!

Hello! Welcome to the AWARENESS for Creative Cuts and More! You are in for a GREAT treat! Our Designers are very excited to share some fabulous CANCER AWARENESS projects using the wonderful Die Cuts from Creative Cuts and More.

Did you enjoy Steph's FANTASTIC  Ensemble? If you have not come here from Steph's Zerbe Design Blog, you will not want to miss what the Design team has in store for you. Head back to the Die Cut Diva Blog. That is where all of the action starts!

Don't forget on the NEW website have over 100 NEW Die Cuts AND a NEW section called GREAT DEALS!

Once you are finished HOPPING along the Blog Hop, you will have an opportunity to win one of the WONDERFUL  assortment of awareness ribbon products, including an awareness ribbon album, awareness cards and maybe a box or two.  You can find the ways to win this wonderful prize on the Die Cut Diva Blog!

Your chance to enter to win will have a deadline of Sunday, September 19th at midnight! We will announce the winner on Monday, September 20th.

CC&M will donate 20% of all sales of Awareness Ribbon products in September and October!!

One more thing - check this out! Terry has all of the Cancer colors listed here, so if you know of someone with a different type of cancer you can use that color! Before this, I honestly didn't know that the different cancers had "colors" besides PINK for Breast Cancer!

We will donate half of the proceeds to American Cancer Society and the other half to Susan G Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.

Now... Are you ready to see my variety of projects? I hope you like them! I had soooo much fun creating them! In addition to the Blog Hop, I participated in the Belli ChallengeThis week’s Belli Challenge is to use something that starts with the letter B – so technically  ALL of these qualify! Right? For Breast Cancer? ;) If we want to be technical though, some things you can use that start with B are buttons, bows, brads, blue, Black, emBossing…. Ok the embossing might be stretching a bit but you get the gist, right? *smile*

Once you are finished hopping along the Blog Hop, I would LOVE it if you came back and checked out all of the Belli Challenge Participants! They are all so talented and would LOVE to hear your comments!!!

Here are the details on my projects...

Awareness Ribbon Window A7 Card - Vertical - for this project, I cut a rectangle out of white and black card stock to create the layers. I put a white sheet of card stock on the inside of the card, sponged with black along the ribbon edges and then using my white gel pen, I added faux stitching around the edges to match the ribbon I used. The stamped words are from Stampin' Up!, Offray Black stitched Ribbon, triple flower punch from SU, Black Dew Drops and mini Glue dots were used as well.

Awareness Ribbon Window Square Box #01 - For this project, I grabbed my retired Stampin' Up! Rub Ons and added them by simply... (you guessed it!) rubbing. *smile* I then grabbed my roll of packing tape and added a strip BEHIND the window. Carefully sprinkling glitter over the sticky side - I made a small glitter window. I then added the Gems with mini glue dots.

I filled the box with small 4" x 4" note cards. Many times when I need card stock, I will e-mail Terry from Creative Cuts and More and let her know how many sheets I need. This way, I am sure to have coordinating card stock!

All cards use the Stella Bugaboo Digital Images. I added the words with my Photoshop program. I used white card stock, passionate pink Smooth card stock from Creative Cuts and More. I used Copics to color the image and Mini Glue Dots to hold the buttons on. Easy Peasy!

Ohhh I almost forgot! To hold this wonderful box together... I used the KILLER RED TACKY TAPE

My last card uses the same images as above, however although it doesn't have a "ribbon" for Awareness, I couldn't resist using the Oval Window A7 Card - Horizontal card. I added some Glitter Card Stock that I had on hand and cut out a window to add a little pizzazz.
Using the Mini Glue Dots again, I added the button embellishments and the white Satin ribbon as well.

Now that you are done checking out my blog, you will want to head over to Kim's Blog, to see what she has in store for you! She always inspires me with your crafty scrap booking and paper crafting ideas!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
