COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS & FAUX LEATHER

Hello Everyone!  HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!! This week my children wrapped up their AWANA program. Two of my gremlins earned an award and my other gremlin finished his book at another church right before we moved to our new church. He did earn an award, however due to the change in our church, he didn't get one except the congratulations, a job well done from me.

I am so proud of my children. They have worked hard this school year and did a lot of memorizing God's Word. The best part of all for me, as Mother's Day nears is the joy of having them share my life with me. I know I may complain and whine about my children, but they really and truly are one of the BEST parts of my life. I love to tease them, snuggle with them, and smooch on them.

Anyways, this week, the Technique Junkie Newsletter is sponsoring the Gingersnap Creations Challenge Blog! The theme this week is Cowboys and Cowgirls and we would LOVE to have you join us in the challenge!

Here is some information about my card.... Regretfully, I do not have a lot of Cowboy and Cowgirls, so I had to combine several sets to fit this challenge! :)

Stamp Sets: Bronco from SU and Mini Tags 3 from Our Daily Bread Designs this is their brand new release and this set matches the NEW Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio Three.  You can get 10% off the entire bundle AND the Spellbinders....

Week 1 {ODBDLYLS4} Scrapbook Challenge

Hello Everyone!!! Can you believe the month of March is over already? I can hardly believe the way the year is flying by! Our Enrichment program is done and I have my Mondays free again! I can not express how good that feels. My children are disappointed, but it has allowed me a bit more freedom. It also means that our school year is almost done! You can only imagine how good that will feel! *SMILE*

Since it is April, it is time for our new Let Your Light Shine Scrapbook Challenge  at Our Daily Bread Designs. This month our challenge is an INSPIRATION CHALLENGE based on this photograph.

You may use the colors, the flowers, the butterflies, etc. as your inspiration! Whatever strikes your fancy!

Here is my design along with the details and close ups...
ODBD Sets Used: Fish Background, Faith

I used the colors for my inspiration...

If you look closely, I stamped the Fish Background, on white card stock to create a back ground.

The flourish and flowers are Tim Holtz dies. I used a sponge dauber and sponged them.

I used the Ornare and the Paper Piercer on the card stock I journaled on and added Dew Drops to further accent the page.

I typed up letters and printed them off and punched them out with 1/4" square punch. I used mini glue dots to adhere them to the page.

Here are the requirements for the challenge...
**You must use ODBD stamps on a scrapbook page of any size!
**Other stamps are allowed, but ODBD images need to be the focus!
**Use Keywords ODBDLYLS4 and ODBD when linking to SCS or other public galleries.
**The same keywords will be used for this entire month of March!
**To be eligible for the $25 gift certificate, leave a link to your creation here using Inlinkz.
**All entries for the entire month must be linked to this first post of the month using Inlinkz.
**If you use either your blog link or online gallery, please give a link back to this challenge page.

The challenge runs from today through Saturday, April 30th, at 6 pm EST. You have all month to enter. You can enter as many times as you like, just remember to link your creations to this first post. We will select a winner from ALL of the March scrapbook challenge entries for a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store! The winner will be announced with our new challenge that will begin Tuesday, May 3rd!
Thank you for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

THE ANCHOR THAT HOLDS...

Hello Everyone! Can you tell I am on a BAJA BREEZE (soft blue) kick these days???? I can't seem to get enough of this color and I can not explain why! *smile* Today, I created this card for the Splitcoast Stampers Clean and Simple Challenge and I combined it with the Featured Stamper Challenge too. I used Dandi's card HERE as my inspiration. For the FS Challenge, we are supposed to change a few things... so on my card I changed the stamps, the colors and added some brads and paper piercing around the edge.

I also used the Background Burst Extension from the Technique Junkie Newsletter from the April/ May 2010 Newsletter. I love this technique!!! When you create the backgrounds you get TWO pieces to work with! So you get more bang for your buck! LOL

Here is a close up of the background - very soft and subtle and Ohhhh soooo BEAUTIFUL!

Here are some more details:

Stamps: Anchor from ODBD, Old World Map retired
Paper: Baja, White, Saffron
Ink: White, Baja
Accessories: Pastels, Paper Piercing Tool, Saffron Brads, Sponge Daubers, Wavy Cutter

OK! I am off to get some more work done today! Hope you have a fabulous day!!! Thank you for stopping by!
