Back to Blogging

So it has been awhile since I have blogged. I allowed life and work to take over the past 2 years and have neglected doing the things I love. I have the type of personality I am ALL or nothing. So this year, I decided to set some NEW boundaries with some new goals of BALANCE. Will I be perfect? Probably not. That is okay though. I am learning to accept who I am, where I am at and going with the flow.

In the process of working, I am renewing my love of paper crafting. I mean truly... if I don't paper craft, I would be more like a hoarder with all of these crazy supplies I have been blessed with.

My friend Holly and I, took a virtual stamping break. She is one of my DEAREST friends and I LOVE stamping with her...even though she is in Texas and I am here in Wisconsin. We challenge each other with colors and sketches...You can see her creation HERE. We decided upon the
Color Throwdown #323 and a  sketch that Holly found on Pinterest,

The images are from Stampin' Up! and so is the cardstock. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Wishing you a HAPPY New Year too!

PYRAMID CARD - FANCY FOLDS AND MOTION

Hello Everyone - Today over on Splitcoast is the Technique Lovers Challenge and I had created this PYRAMID card using the Technique Junkie Newsletter Fancy Fold and Motion Cd. You can find all of the information on my side bar! It really and truly is worth the money - there are 60 step by step pictorial tutorials with easy to understand instructions to create these cards!!!

When creating this, I didn't want to do a lot of coloring, so I grabbed a solid stamp. I used Our Daily Bread Designs beautiful and encouraging Scripture Stamps and they even sell the Scor-pal that will help you as you create this wonderful card!

Here are a few more details:

Stamps: Scripture Collection 1 from Our Daily Bread Designs
Paper: Sage, Navy, Riding Hood Red
Ink: same
Accessories: Paper Trimmer, Cherry Cobbler Ribbon, Gems, Score-pal

If you have not tried this technique or if you have not seen this Fancy Fold and Motion Cd, you really want to check it out! Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #157 - COLOR CHALLENGE KIWI, BLUE & WHITE

Hello! I am back to my (new) normal routine. We went out of town for a few days and had a FUN time. We went to a water park and I even had a chance to RELAX and read. I packed some stamping things, but did not do a lick of it!

This week for the Bloggers Challenge, we were challenged to use Kiwi, Blue and White.  I made three cards, but I am sharing two today. I got on a roll! I will share the other some time this coming week.

As an avid paper crafter, I am sure YOU NEVER do this... but I have purchased a TON of stamps in the past several years and have rarely used a few of them. Now that I am no longer a SU demo, I find that my SU stamps are collecting dust, as beautiful as they are... so today I decided to pull a few out and use them. I have had this Seashell stamp for maybe 2-3 years? I haven't found much inspiration to use it... so today I LOOKED and found this card and "cased" the general design of it and used the color challenge and created a birthday card for a friend of mine today.

This next card uses To Have and To Hold from SU as well.

Tomorrow, I will share a card using QKR STAMPEDE and some Cosmo Cricket paper that I have had lying around.

Check out the other Blogger Challenge Participants blogs and artwork using these colors by clicking on the Bloggers Challenge icon on the side bar!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekened!!!

TWO FOR YOU, TUESDAY!

Hello! Happy Tuesday! I had made both of these cards a few weeks ago, but thought I would share with you today! I can never remember exactly which cards I have shared and which ones I have not shared yet, so I have to go back through my blog posts when posting (unless it is a brand new creation!)

This week, I have been gutting out my office. My favorite Scrapbook/ Stamp store is having a rummage sale and I have decided it is time to CLEAR OUT MORE CLUTTER! What a great feeling that is! One of the best parts... is that for a day or two, I can see TABLE TOPS! It never lasts though, because as I get creating I make a mess. I need to really get better about cleaning up RIGHT AWAY,...but one of my excuses is that my kids are needing help with school, or it is dinner time and I have to cook, or we are running out to some event... Sooo...I create until it is time to go then I have to leave and do the next thing.

Anyways, here are the details for my projects...

Stamps: Eskimo Kisses by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
Cardstock: Pink, Razzleberry, Chocolate, White
Ink: Copics
Accessories: Pomegranite Ribbon, Basic Grey Buttons, Punches

This project uses the Technique from Technique Junkies called Herringbone.

The stamps are from SU: Ever After
Cardstock:
Cosmo Cricket DP, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Copics
Accessories: Ribbon, Gems

Thanks so much for stopping by! Today, I will be doing MORE cleaning and stamping! I hope your day is filled with laughter and JOY! Have a great day!

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #94 - Remembering Good Friday...

Hello! This Friday the Bloggers Challenge is to create a card using the Technique of our choice. I used Technique Junkies Newsprint Reveal. I was the Guest Designer in April, and this was one of the cards I submitted. So I am taking the easy way out today!

As a Christian, today is a day of remembrance of Good Friday. The day our Saviour died on the cross for our sins..

Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Revelation 21:27 “There shall by no means enter it (heaven) anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

We all are sinners. Everyone has done things that displease a Holy God. No one can live up to His standards. He says no sin can enter heaven. Something must be done to get rid of your sin.
Believe Jesus died on the cross for you. God loves you and wants you to become His child. He loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to shed His blood to save you from your sins. He took your place on the cross, and suffered the punishment you deserve. Believe that He died for you, was buried, and rose again on the third day.

1 Peter 2:24 “Who Himself (Jesus) bore our sins in His own body on the tree (cross), that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness.”

Colossians 1:14 “In whom (Jesus) we have redemption (salvation) through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”

Luke 18:13 “God be merciful to me a sinner.”

Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:13 “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Have a blessed weekend! Thank you for stopping by!

GUEST DESIGNER AND AN INVITATION FOR YOU!

This month, I am the GUEST DESIGNER for the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog! I am very excited about this and have been posting things through out the month. If you do not go there often, I would highly encourage you to check frequently! They have some wonderful projects posted by other Design Team members AND they have Guest Designers who are NOT on the Design Team as well! There will be many Guest Designers in 2009 who are not part of the Design Team.
I am also very excited because I have started a NEW GROUP on Paper Crafting Planet -just for the BELLI CHALLENGES! The Challenges and pictures for the Design Team will still be HERE all in one convenient place - but I thought it would be a fabulous way for us to get to know each other better and have everyone share in the excitement of your work! So posting can be done there with links and things. I will include more information on the group - but please come join us!

Now for todays project...I participated in Paper Craft Planets Sketch Challenge . A few months ago, Technique Junkies had a Challenge called the BANDANA TECHNIQUE, but between August- early December, I am pretty busy with school and church activities, so I didn't get a chance to try it out until this week. I had so much fun with this technique and love the results so much, I am going to make another card with using the technique!

I used these materials to make this card...

Stamps: Live the Dream by SU, Pray Without Ceasing by SNS
Paper: Whisper White, basic Black, Pretty In Pink, Night of Navy
Accessories: Flower Accents - unknown, Silver Brads, White Gel Pen, Large Oval Punch, Paper Snips, Dimensionals

Have a wonderful weekend!
Merry Christmas!

A few Christmas Gifts...

I purchased these FABULOUS gift bags in bulk with some girlfriends, so I am sorry I am not sure where to let you know to buy them. (I will try to find out) These bags are FABULOUS! They have a nice lining in them and the window is perfect to show case your goodies.

I filled these with fudge and cookies for my neices and nephews. They are all in their late teens
and mainly want expensive items that don't quite fit into my budget, so my sister decided to cut expenses and not exchange this year, but I had to do something so decided to bake for them and make an ornament! I know the ornament won't "THRILL" them, but the junk food will! LOL

I used my Snowflakes Stamp Set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and the Chipboard and Designer Paper is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The ornaments are ones I made for the Bloggers Challenge on yesterdays post!

Today, I am celebrating Christmas with my family! I hope you are enjoying the Christmas Season! Merry Christmas! Have a blessed day!

Just for Fun - Only in Wisconsin

Greetings! I am REALLY enjoying this stamp set. The versatility of FUN scenes has been ENDLESS. This stamp set actually has the snowman facing in the opposite direction, so I stamped him on vellum and colored him - then flipped him over to face away from the girl!

Paper Craft Planet had their 12 Days of Christmas and this was their 8 Maids of Milking Challenge card that I made several days ago. The challenge was to make a card using a GIRL OR A COW - if you used both, you got "extra points." LOL I had the cow to Funny Farm from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, but compared to the girl the cow was too small. So I decided to make the snowman into Cow. Then because I always grab red and blue, I thought I would go outside of the box to two colors I rarely use - Glorious Green and Yoyo Yellow (my least favorite color of all.) Before I knew it, once my coloring was done - it looked like Green Bay Packer fans were all over this card. :)

Here are a few more details -
Stamp Sets: Winter Fun with Gretchen and Sam by SNS, Lovely As a Tree by SU
Cardstock and Ink: Black brilliance, vellum, Whisper White, Glorious Green. yoyo Yellow, Soft Sky and Copics
Accessories: Button kit from Hobby Lobby, Build a Brad, Mini Glue Dots

Be on the look out - when my Blog has 60,000 hits - I will be having some BLOG CANDY! :)

Have a great day!

CHIPBOARD ORNAMENTS

Good morning! Today is Courtney's Challenge Day! This week's challenge is to make an ornament. I had little time and LOTS of character building, so I chose an easy project! LOL

I used Stampin' Up's Onboard Seasonal Chipboard and painted this with Making Memories Scrapbook Paint Red Wagon. Then added some Stardust Stickles around the edges. A little Dew Drop bling with some mini glue dots, ribbon and WAH-LAH!

BELLI CHALLENGE DAY - BELLI'S GONE BY, SNS BLOG HOP & IT'S ALL ABOUT JOY!

Hello! Wednesday is BELLI CHALLENGE DAY - but with the Thanksgiving holiday looming ahead - many of our designers wanted to take the week off. But if you are a DIE HARD stamper - and not much of a shopper, you will be home avoiding the crowds and wanting to create, RIGHT? lol

So I decided to celebrate BELLI'S GONE BY - you know the ones?

What is the Belli Challenge you ask?

Each week, I try to give us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms! With a constant flow of new things coming out, I tend to forget about the other things I have and they quickly become clutter!

This weeks, Belli Challenge is to make a project using WHATEVER PAST BELLI CHALLENGE YOU WISH!

Here is what you need to do...
1. Anyone Can Play! Spread the Word! :)
2. Make a completed project embellishing your work with the Belli of your choice. Share the link here in the comments linking to my Blog and CBC and the number of the Belli Challenge you chose!
3. When you post to Splitcoaststampers or to your Blog, be sure and put the CBC - and the Belli Number you chose as your KEYWORD and mention of the challenge - with a link!
4. I will do a random drawing for all participants and have a special pack of assorted Designer Papers for the winner!

Last week's winner is Barb - you can see her fabulous card HERE. Be sure to leave her some comments! We all love them! :)

Here is a list of BELLI'S GONE BY!
1 BEADS 2 RUB ONS 3 BUTTONS 4 WHEEL 5 CHIPBOARD 6 – SKIPPED THIS NUMBER 7 HARDWARE 8 FLOWERS 9 GLITTER 10 CHALKS 11EMBOSSING POWDER 12 SCRAPS 13 UFOS- Unfinished Objects! 14 RIBBON 15 PENCILS

For some ideas - check out the Belli Design Team's projects! Their links are all on the LEFT sidebar! Check out their fabulous work and spread some love their way! :)

My project details:

This card is for JOY! She loves it when I use Stampin' Up! and while the DP and Dew Drops are not SU - I believe this will still qualify!

Also, the Belli's I chose are: #17 - DIE CUTS, #31 BAUBLES & BLING
I first colored the Inspired By Nature flowers with chocolate chip, More Mustard and Old Olive and stamped off. Then I took the markers and recolored certain areas to make them have shading. I *huffed* and stamped the image on my white TOP NOTE cardstock. I stamped the grass in Kiwi Kiss - then took the markers on the thin .8 tip and highlighted a few more areas on the images.

I sponged the edges of the Top Note Die with Not Quite Navy and Chocolate Chip - all other layers are sponged with Not Quite Navy only.

The border is cut using a cuddlebug die -and I attached it using my xyron.
Stamp Set: Inspired By Nature and Upsy daisy
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, SOft Sky (retired), Basic Grey Urban Prairie, Whisper White
Ink: More Mustard, Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, Soft Sky
Accessories: The Wizard - for borders and Top Note, Dew Drops, Mini Glue Dots, Lg. Ovel Punch, 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 circle punch, Dimensionals

Things I am thankful today...

1. My sisters. One of my sisters and I have had a long road of difficulties, but we are overcoming them through forgiveness and time. God is good! I grew up with 2 beautiful sisters and have 3 half sisters and a brother - one sister that I have a relationship with, the others I do not know well.
2. My faith and salvation - my faith defines everything I am about. My journey and who I am and what I am becoming. Jesus Christ has died for our sins and I have accepted His free gift of salvation and eternal life. He is my everything.
3. Sleeping through the night. I often remember those years of having babies - that season of life never seemed like it would end. My husband and I would get in so many arguments in the evening about who would get up or WHY the baby was crying. Sleep is a good thing. I do not function well with out it.
4. My MP3 player. I recently purchased one and listen to books on it from Audible.com. LOVE THIS! I used to struggle with falling asleep at night. I would lay there for HOURS and toss and turn thinking about my to do list - but now I put in my head phones - listen to a book for about 5 minutes and I am OUT! (my husband would say snoring. LOL) Since I have been doing this, I no longer toss and turn. I do have to rewind a bit in the morning.

November Blog Hop Schedule
11/26: You'll start here and then head to Christi
11/27: Kathy & Faith11/28: Janette & Sandy
11/29: Jessica & Korin &
11/30: Michele & Chris

We are not having a RELEASE PARTY in December - we are celebrating all of the previously released stamp sets! Be sure to come back later today for another project.

Ok, enough rambling! Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day! As you prepare for your THANKSGIVING meal, be sure to prepare your heart for the day too! That is most important. The meal will last a short time, but your heart, mind and soul will be with you long after.

Be Blessed -

Bloggers Challenge #74 - THANKSGIVING

Want a little chocolate? I am putting together a goodie box for a friend and took her favorite chocolate bar and wrapped it up-
I decided to use this week's BELLI CHALLENGE - CORD on this challenge too -The Bloggers Challenge is anything with a THANKSGIVING theme - I used Sweet 'n Sassy's Thanksgiving Scripture stamp set! I just love this set!
I want to take a moment and say - I am soooo blessed! There are multiple things I am thankful for this year. Here is a short list -
1. My God and Savior - "I will praise the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God even with my dying breath." Psalm 146:2 NLT
2. My husband - despite the difficulties and times we may disagree, he is a hardworker, excellent provider, he is faithful, he loves me despite my MANY flaws, and he is willing to work through our difficulties TOGETHER - and he is an excellent father. He gets up for work every day - even when I say you should call in "sick of work" today, LOL...he resists the temptation. He's the MAN and I am blessed to have him in my life - even if he doesn't try to be romantic. heehee
3. My children - ohhh, if you know me, I may complain that they can drive me crazy - I hear "I'm hungry" at least 100 times a day but what mother doesn't? They are beautiful, loving, snuggly and my JOY.
4. My mom - recently my mom and I went away for a weekend together and during a quiet time, we had an opportunity to pray together. It was such an encouragement and blessed time for me. I appreciate her so much! I am blessed to have a praying mother.
I could go on and on - every Thanksgiving we make a Thanksgiving tree and during our daily devotions as a family, I make leaves and each person writes what we are thankful for on those leaves and decorate our tree. I will take a picture of our tree next week!
Be sure to take some time to check out the other Thanksgiving Blogger challenges!
Count Your Blessings today!
God Bless You-

A Christmas Owl

First of all...HOW in the world did it get to be September 23 already? I think it was just September 1!!! WOW! Time is flying.

I am back. :) I think I am having a bad case of HORRIBLEMONES... After my quiet time this morning, I determined TODAY I have no reason to be stressed, yet I feel like every nerve is on the tip of my skin and each of my children are getting on it. They aren't doing anything abnormal, just being kids. So it must be me. Sooo deeepppppp breath and SMILE... That will be my mode today. If you don't FEEL like smiling right away, do it anyways and the feeling will come. I just told my 7 yo to take my crabbiness away and throw it out the door. This brought a smile to her face and that helped bring a smile to mine ... for 2 seconds anyways. LOL

All right, back to my card I think I used just about every thing there is in my Stamp Room to make this card...

I did a few challenges -

Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge #185
that was to use BAJA BREEZE, KIWI KISS and VANILLA.

Then I also did my friend from Sisterhood of the Blogging Sisters group, ANNA BANANA's Sketch challenge #11.

I tried to add glitter to the White Felt Snowflake - but it looks like dirty snow, doesn't it? Well, in Wisconsin the snow doesn't stay white long...so we will say it is a snowflake from my yard. LOL

I think this Owl from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is sooo cute and Korin designed a FABULOUS Christmas Accessories stamp set for it. This will be released next week at the Release Party on September 30.

Oh yes I almost forgot! I used my new Nestibilities dies on this to cut the scalloped circles. I am LOVING these new toys! I used my Aquapainter on this leaves and background for the Kiwi Kiss and Baja Blue then colored and shaded the remaining images with my Copics.

Here are a few more details:
Stamps: Owl Occassions, Owl Christmas Accessories
Paper: Ski Slope DP, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Black brilliance, Copics, White gel pen, Versamark
Accessories: Heat Tool, Black EP, Glitter pens, MM Brads, Nestibilities, Black grosgrain, Embossing Buddy, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Felt Snowflakes - Just about everything in my room! LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be posting the BLOG CANDY WINNER later today! Have a great day!
