Hello Everyone-
We are preparing for the big game between the Packers and the Bears in the play offs... I will watch it passively. Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I really do not care about football! LOL I will have it on and probably craft while I watch it and glance at it every now and then! So as I say preparing... we will probably have a veggie tray to munch on and some other goodies I bought from my girl friend Christina who sells Tastefully Simple.

I created this card for several challenges on Splitcoast... I used the Color Challenge (Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy and Pear Pizzazz) and the Sketch Challenge for this past week too.

I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter Dec 2009/ Jan 2010 Issue and Outside the Lines technique.

Here are a few more details..

Stamps: This Little Piggy from SmARTworks
Paper: Basic Grey
Ink: Copics, Memento Black

BE STRONG AND TAKE HEART

Hello and HAPPY SATURDAY! Today we are going to a graduation party for my nephew. I wonder where the time went? I think it was just yesterday he was 4 and I was spiking his hair up with gel and taking him to Chuck E Cheeses. He is now 6'4" and all grown up! It is exciting to see him grow and to see what the LORD has in store for him!

Todays card is NOT a graduation card, but an encouragement card. I participated in the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge #284 and this was what I came up with! Here is the sketch...

Here are the details and materials I used for my card...

Stamps: Scripture Collection 3, God Loves You, From Me to You from Our Daily Bread Designs
Cardstock: Origins Basic Grey, Banana, Garden Green
Accessories: Gold cord, Martha Stewart Punch, Nestibilities, Yellow grosgrain, Diamond Stickles, Dew Drops, Copics

ODBD Creating a Scene

Hello Everyone!!! Happy Thursday!

It is time for Stamping In Time Challenge(SNTODBD11)! This week, Angella Crockett, one of the ODBD Bread Basket Designers is hosting. Angie is challenging us to "create a scene." Now, you can use any of ODBD scene stamps or combine other ODBD images and scriptures with designer papers and create your own scene! Important thing is to have fun "making a scene!" We would love to see what scene you create!

I am thrilled to be participating in their challenges with the gorgeous ODBD images! I used the Path of Life image from ODBD and trimmed it to create my scene. I started off taking a picture of my card (see below) and thought it needed "a little something else." As I looked around my messy desk, I saw my Stickles on the shelf so I grabbed it and added several different colored Stickles to the card...

I used the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch #283 as my lay out...

Here are a few more details:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs - Path of Life
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Kraft, Close to Cocoa SU, white
Accessories: Copics, Dew Drops, Stickles in assorted colors, Paper piercing tool, mat pack, Nestibilities, Dimensionals, Mini glue dots

You can see MORE GORGEOUS scenic cards on the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and the following blogs

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #133- SKETCH!

Hello! Today is Bloggers Challenge Day and we have a SKETCH CHALLENGE! I love Sketches! They help me SIMPLIFY things in the whole scheme of stamping. I just have to figure out placement then. :)

Today, I only had a very short time to stamp, so I kept this very simple! I threw in the Limited Supply Challenge from Splitcoast Stampers #254! We were supposed to red, black or pink with something with Polka Dots! My paper has polka dots on it but it wasn't quite the "right" shade of red that I wanted, so I used my darker red ink pad to give it a deeper red color.

Here are the details:
Stamps: Autumn Blessings by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Sentiment by SU
Paper: Red Polka Dots SU, Black pattern by TLC, Black, Red, White
Ink: Copics
Accessories: Black Gems, Ribbon, Dimensionals

You can check out more ideas by clicking on my side bar link to the Bloggers Challenges. There are so many talented stampers in this group, you do not want to miss an opportunity for some real eye candy!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. It really does make my day! Have a great day!

Hello! The past two days, I have been feeling a bit under the weather. My stomach is crampy and not feeling quite right and I have a sinus headache. ICK. Yesterday was far worse than today, I woke up, grabbed a cup of coffee, had 2 sips only to get so nauseas I ended up back in bed. By lunchtime, I felt better and was able to function again. BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #92 & BELLI CHALLENGE

Good Day! I finally have it up! This week's Belli Challenge was to create a BOOK MARK using something you have not used in a LONG time. I purchased these Rub Ons well over a year ago because they were SOOOOO pretty and I HAD to HAVE them. So I grabbed those - it helped being gone on my Scrapbook Retreat to have my extra stash out before me. If you have not gone to the Belli Challenge Blog be sure to head on over there! http://www.bellichallenge.blogspot.com/
This week's Bloggers Challenge is to use the Texture Plates or Die Cuts. I used the Nestibilities as my "die cuts" and for the sketch I used the Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers #221. I used my stamp set - His Eye Is On The Sparrow and colored it with my Copics.

Since my mom is sitting next to me this weekend, I made her participate in the Sketch Challenge and the Bloggers Challenge too! :) Here is her SUPER CUTE card!
Be sure to check out the other Blogger Challenge participants projects. You will enjoy looking at them and surely be inspired!

Each morning, while here I have been reading a devotional to my table. I thought I would share what we read today... This was taken from the Proverbs 31 Ministries -I have these devotionals mailed to my mailbox each day.

Under My Skin
27 Mar 2009 Lynn Cowell"
…and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of depair..." Isaiah 61:3a (NIV)

It wouldn't stop burning. Like a sunburn after hours at the beach, the heat on my hands stayed for hours. As a blessing to my family, I had made Aunt Carol's jalapeno peppers. With the sharp knife and chopping block, I transformed eighteen forest-green peppers into little boats of tasty fun. What I hadn't counted on was that ten minutes of exposure to the pepper's oil to my dry, cracked winter skin produced a burning that lasted for hours.

As I looked at my red, cracked hands, I was reminded of another part of me that looked dry and under-nourished not so long ago. In the heat of the summer months, my heart was in bad shape. It felt like a stone. When I would go to church, I sang the songs, but my heart was not truly singing praise to my Love, Jesus. I assumed it was the church. Surely, something had changed. We needed new music; something fresh.

Soon after something did change, and it was me. I re-discovered the oil of gladness and oil of joy by personally coming into the Lord's presence daily. Although I had never stopped reading my Bible and praying, I hadn't been taking the extra time and effort to come into His presence.

With the help of a prayer journal, I started beginning my time with the Lord each day by exposing myself to Him in praise. In her journal, Intimacy with God; Your Daily Guide to Prayer, Tara Furman suggests several ways to come before Him: repeating His attributes, calling out His names, and singing hymns or worship songs. My favorite is read ing out loud the Psalms. Just yesterday the repairman heard Psalm 103 coming loudly from my lips as he banged away on my wood floor.

Opening the day with praises to my King has transformed my heart. Now, when I go to church, I no longer wait to enter into His presence; my heart is already there. I have found that my outlook through the day is different. Like the oil from the peppers, the burning effect of His presence is felt in my heart many hours after the exposure.

Dear Lord, as it says in Psalm 100:4, help me to enter into Your gates with thanksgiving and into Your courts with praise. Help me to give thanks to You and praise Your name. You are good and You deserve my heartfelt worship each day. I love you! In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Hope you have a great day! I am still in Iowa until Sunday but will have more posts.

Glimmer Mists - Snowfriends

Hello! Yesterday was Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge day! I flipped the sketch a bit and used the Technique Junkies newsletter for a starting point. My good friend, Holly Brown had created a technique and submitted it to Technique Junkies and they published it as a technique!

So of course, I HAD to make a card using her technique. :) It is called Glimmer Mists. For more information about it - go to http://www.patstamps.com/ - I am sorry I can not share the technique here as the Technique Junkies newsletter is copyrighted material. If you are not a subscriber, I HIGHLY recommend the newsletter. It is a wonderful publication and they have a Yahoo Group for subscribers filled with MANY VERY talented stampers!

This is sooooo shimmery! But it hard to see. I used a cut out mat using the Top Note Die as a mat when spraying my Glimmer Mist. I also combined this with todays sketch challenge!
Here are the details: Stamp Set: Snowflakes (designed by me!) and Snow Friends available at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
Cardstock: Handsome Hunter, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Tissue paper
Ink: White Staz On, Bashful Blue, Black Staz On, Handsome Hunter
Accessories: Glimmer Mist, Tissue paper, Xyron, Dimensionals, Snowflake Brads, Dew Drops, Lg Oval Punch, Mini glue Dots Thank you for looking and commenting! I appreciate you taking the time!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous day!
