Ahoy Friend

And a great big old hello to you!  Are you ready for another great FREE image from Bugaboo Stamps?  It's time for this weeks Freebie Friday to set sail!  Check out this cutie petutie!

I printed the image on Fabriano watercolor paper and colored it using my Stampin Up watercolor pencils and my aqua painter.  The designer paper is from KI's Enchanting paper pack.  I also used several Spellbinders die cuts (Lacey circles, Circles, Ovals, Label One).  To make the cloud I used Graphically Speaking cart and Cricut and embossed it using the Swirls folder and Cuttlebug.  A little stitching and some buttons and I was finished.

Other challenges I've entered this card:

Best Fishes

It's Oldie But Goodie day at Catch The Bug!  The day when we showcase images that you may or may not have seen before.  I love any and all of the Ava images from Bugaboo Stamps, so this was an easy decision!   What's cuter than Ava as a mermaid?!!!  Not much and just to give her a little whimsy, I colored her hair blue!

I printed the image on water color paper and colored it using my Stampin Up watercolor pencils.  To punch it up a little more, I added glitter to her flower, bikini top, flipper and the fish!  This card is so cute and sparkly!  All it needed was a few punched flowers and some fun dotted DP and I was done.  Super easy!

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by today!  TTFN

Animal Antics-Catch The Bug

Have we got a fun and furry challenge for you this week at Catch The Bug?!!!  It's time for some animal antics! Use some kind of critter on your card or project and you could win some free Bugaboo Stamps.  Two for third, four for second and seven (you must use a Bugaboo image to win this one) for first.

I thought it would be fun to use one of the new Make It Snappy images and one of the Bobble Head images for my project!  I mean, they go together so well.  You'll see what I mean.

Udderly Amazing & Bobble Head Farm Cow

I got the idea to make a little cookie treat holder and was thinking "Got Milk?  & cookies" so I printed off the Bobble Head image, then I decided to make it a Thank You set so I added the card using Udderly Amazing.  I printed them both on white card stock and colored them using watercolor pencils.  I had a small take out box that I disassembled to make my template for my box, I just omitted the top flaps.

Other challenges I've entered this card in:
The Paper Shelter-We Love Animals
Die Cuttin Divas-Desserts

Seeing Spots-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

It's getting closer to Christmas and I'm so prepared this year thanks to these weekly challenges.  How about you?  If you haven't joined us at Christmas Stampin All Year Long, now's a good time to jump in and get started!  We have another great sponsor this week!  Paper Makeup Stamps and they are offering  a $15 gift certificate to the winner of this challenge. Thank you PMS!!!

The theme for this challenge is "Seeing Spots"  so we wanna see those polka dots on your cards and projects.  The CSAYL  team and I have been busy creating cards to inspire you!  Here's my card using Paper Makeups Lars image:

I printed the image on white card stock and colored the main image using a lead pencil and the presents using watercolor pencils.  I also masked the panel and colored it using a lead pencil and smudged it with my finger.  I then sprayed it with hairspray to prevent further smudging.  For the polka dots I used a fine tip marker and added some dotting around the image.  There are also polka dots in my background paper from My Minds Eye and Daisy D.  The banner is from Shannon's Sentiment and I also added some pencil smudging to it too.
We would love for you to join us in the challenge!

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

It's challenge time-Catch The Bug

Happy Saturday to you all!  It's Saturday so you know what that means!!!  Time for this weeks challenge at Catch The Bug!  The challenge is to create a scene!  There are several ways you can do this.  You could fussy cut a couple of images and put them together on your card.  You could merge two png images together or if you're like me and just want to take the easy way out,  you can use one of the new Scene It images from Bugaboo Stamps and all you have to do is color.

I printed the image on watercolor paper  and colored it using watercolor pencils.  I kept the rest of the card pretty simple and basic.  Just some brads and brightly colored card stock and designer papers and I was done!

Now it's your turn!  Just create a scene card, upload a link to it on Catch The Bug!  It's that simple and the best part is you could win some Bugaboo Stamps.  Two images for third, four for second and the big one, seven for first!  You can use any image to win third or second but you must use a Bugaboo image to be eligible for  first  prize.

Oldie But Goodie Thursday

A little bird told me it was time for this weeks Oldie But Goodie at Bugaboo Stamps

I love this image from the Spring Bird collection because it's just so stinkin cute, it's easy to watercolor and it transports me away from  the heat to a nice spring day!  Which we could sure use!  We still haven't made it out of the 100's yet!  This has been one HOT summer and I'm saying something I thought I would never say.  I'm looking forward to a little colder climate.  It's on it's way but until it gets here, I'll just have to keep creating cards to distract me from the heat!

I printed this little cutie on Fabriano watercolor paper and colored it using watercolor pencils.  I paired it with red, turquoise and orange card stock from Stampin Up.  The designer paper is from my stock pile of scraps.  To add the finishing touches I added a few punched flowers, ribbon and a sentiment from the dollar bins at Michaels.

For the following challenges

Let me tell you bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees

and a thing called love.......and are you ever gonna love this weeks challenge at Catch The Bug.  This one's for the birds (and bees)!

With so many great bird and bee images out there, the hardest part of this challenge for me was deciding which one to use.  So I used a very technical method to choose.  I printed a couple of both of them, laid them out and used  eeny, meeny, miney, moe.

The bees have it!   This was the winner!

This image is just one of the many great bee images from Bugaboo Stamps and is printed on watercolor paper and colored using watercolor pencils and a watercolor brush (my now favorite way to color).

Baby, baby, baby oh..............baby, baby , baby oh...... Bear With Me

No, I haven't lost my mind!  I'm not one of those crazed teenage Justin Bieber fans.  I was just having fun and thought it would make a funny segway in to this weeks Freebie Friday image from Bugaboo Stamps!  If you'll bear with me, you'll find a sweet deal in the end!

Enough of the word play, wanna see this weeks Freebie Friday image?!!!  You're gonna love this baby!  (I just can't stop myself)

I printed this little cutie on watercolor paper and colored it using watercolor pencils (Stampin Up).  I cut it out using Nestabilities Label Two die cut, cutting off part of the handle.  No problem, I just colored and cut the handle from the second image I printed and paper pieced it over the incomplete handle.  I wanted some striped paper to match my project but didn't have any so I created my own.  I marked even lines on watercolor paper using a sharpie marker and then watercolored it using my watercolor pencils.  The sentiment was die cut using my Welcome Baby die from Cuttlebug.

For more great samples that'll send you screaming to Bugaboo stamps, check out all the fabulous designs from the Catch The Bug team!  They're FAN-tastic!

Okay, I'm done!  Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Flowery Thoughts Of You

I don't usually post on Sundays but found myself with some time on my hands yesterday and was browsing and commenting on some cards when I came across a fun sketch challenge.  Since I'm gonna have free time this week to complete my design team stuff, I thought to myself "why not play along?"  You see, I quit my job so I can search for a job a little closer to our new home.  I've been commuting 100 miles a day for the last six weeks with my summer job painting schools (I'm a special needs assistant on the school bus during the school year).  That keeps me away from home for about twelve hours a day.  With school getting ready to start up I would have added two more hours a day to that.  Not what I wanted to do.  Soooo, since I'm jobless now and have the time to do so, I'm gonna craft til my hearts content while I wait for the next chapter of my life to start!  With all that said, here's a card I made yesterday for the current Deconstructed Sketch Challenge:

The image is Bugaboo Stamps Flower Water Can-Tulip Can and is colored using my current favorite coloring technique, watercolor pencils.  The fun designer paper is from Nana's Nursery Baby Boy and the sentiment is from Stampin Ups Greetings Galore.

I'm out of here for now!  Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Shabby Chic Challenge

Blogger hijacked my post again and changed it from scheduled to a draft!  Argggghhhhh!  Sorry it's late!

Good morning my crafty friends it's time for today challenge at Catch The Bug and we're being very chic about it.  Shabby Chic that is.  Today's challenge is to make a Shabby Chic card.

I wasn't quite sure what that meant, so I looked it up on Wikipedia and this is what it said:

"Shabby chic items are often heavily painted through the years, with many layers showing through obviously time-worn areas. The style is imitated in faux painting using glaze or by painting then rubbing and sanding away the top coat to show the wood or base coats. Fabrics tend to be cottons and linens, with linen being particularly popular, inspired by old French linens. Whites and worn or bleached out pastels are favorite colours. Fabric is often stained with tea to give it the look of old fabric. Bleached and faded are terms often applied to the style."

Hammmm!  Distressing and soft colors?!!!  I can do that!  So this is what I came up with.

I printed the image on white card stock and watercolored the image.  I distressed the blue designer paper by wadding it up in my hand, then wiping the surface with white pigment ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder, letting the cracks show through.  I also gave the blue faux shelf a white washed look by swiping it with my white pigment ink.

We would love for you to get shabby chic with us and possibly win some free Bugaboo Stamps.  You have three chances to win.  Two images for third, four images for second and seven images for first (you must use Bugaboo images to qualify for first prize).

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Have A Beary Bee-utiful Day

Cause this weeks Freebie Friday from Bugaboo Stamps is all about the Bears and Bees, well, at least it's about a really cute bear dressed in a bee costume relaxing in a flower.  It's a honey of a deal too!  It's free, but only til next Friday, so you don't want to miss out!

Beary Bee Flower

I printed the image on watercolor paper and colored it using watercolor pencils and a watercolor brush.  I then nestled the image in a couple of purple silk flowers. Designer papers are Nana's Nursery Baby Boy pack.

Make a big splash baby!

It's New Release day at Bugaboo Stamps are you ready to get soaked?!!!  Jodie has done it yet again!  She's added another cute kiddo to her A Kids View collection and this one is perfect for summer birthday party invites or encouragement which is what I chose to do with it.

A Kids View- Summer Waterslide

I printed the image on white card stock and then colored it using watercolor pencils and a watercolor brush.  The card base is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 but measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 with the topper added to it.  I didn't have a punch for the waves so I free handed (or should I say cut)  them.  The sentiment was created using Print Shop and curlz font.

Be sure to stop by Catch The Bug for more great cards using this image!

I'm a serious bird lover!  My kitchen is filled with anything and everything roosters (love all the colors), I have bird feeders and bird baths on my patio and just love it when I hear the familiar call of a cardinal (my favorite bird), so it should come as no surprise that I love bird images too.  I was so excited to see that this weeks challenge was to use a Christmas bird image on our projects!  Pink Cat Studio, our fabulous sponsor this week, has some really cute bird images with a Christmas theme and we get the awesome privilege of working with them.

I chose this little cutie to work with!

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using watercolor pencils and a watercolor brush.

Now it's your turn!  Get out those bird Christmas images and get going!  The winner of this weeks challenge will win 5 free images from Pink Cat Studio!

Still not sure what to do, check out all the fantastic cards from the team at Christmas Stampin All Year Long for more inspiration!

One, two, three have we got a challenge for thee?

I apologize for the corny title but it's late and my brain is not functioning at full capacity!  It was the first thing that popped into my head!  Anyway, it's time for this weeks challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  Today we are making  the complete package.  A gift box or bag, card and tag to go with it.

The fabulous Perfect Presentation is sponsoring this weeks challenge and offering the winner a free template.  If you have never worked with their templates, you are missing out.  They are so easy and great to embellish!

Cute Carton-Flaky Friends SU (retired)

I printed the carton template on olive card stock and cut, scored and glued.  I embellished it with layers of card stock, dp from daisy d and some colored images from Stampin Up's Flaky Friends.
