Hang In There-Freebie Friday

I hope you all had a great Christmas filled with family, friends and all the things you love!  Ours was pretty good and very low key (just the way I like it).  You may have noticed a break in my blogging.  About a week and a half ago, I took a tumble down our stairs and landed hard on my backside.  I spent the week lying on my side which made it impossible to craft :(  I'm finally able to sit up long enough to craft, so I thought you all would like to see this weeks Freebie Friday image from Bugaboo Stamps.  Cuteness warning here!  You are gonna fall in love with him!  He's Lil Kitty and he's adorable!

I colored Lil Kitty using Copic markers and paired him with some fun Animal Print paper from Recollections.    A little doodling, some animal print gems, a bow and the Hang In There sentiment added the finishing touch.

Feeling A Little Green?

Have I got the perfect  cure?!!  It's Oldie But Goodie day at Catch The Bug and I made this get well card featuring Bugaboo Stamps Mini Sets-Monster Blocks.

I wanted him to appear to be popping out of the frame so I did three layers (the full image, the image without the frame and then the eyes)

Here's an extreme close-up so you can see all the layers.

The image was printed on watercolor paper and colored using watercolor pencils (Stampin Up) and an aqua painter.  I created the sentiment using Word and Curlz font.  I also made the glittered dots, using a hole punch and then covering it with glossy accents and glitter. The papers are all from my scrap pile with the exception of the designer paper.  That came from my fellow DT member in a paper swap.  A little glossy accents for his eyes and teeth added the finishing touch.

It's Sketch Time

At Catch The Bug and I hope you'll play along!  We're getting ready to head into that time of year when people get the icky sickies so I chose to make a get well card using this weeks Stella Says Sketch.  I love Bugaboo Stamps cute Turtles-ladybug image and thought it would be perfect to spread some cheer.

I printed the image on watercolor paper and colored it using watercolor pencils and my aqua painter.  I'm still having fun with the papers I got from Lola in last months swap and the ones I used here are just so fun and cheerful.  I used my spellbinders ovals & beaded ovals dies and my cuttlebug and bubbles folder for the focal panel.  A fun banner, some doodling and some twine add the finishing touches.

Get Well Soon

It's getting colder and that typically brings on loads of viruses so it's always nice to have some Get Well cards on hand!  What better to use on them than this cute Freebie Friday image from Bugaboo Stamps?!!!

AKV-Male Nurse

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using watercolor pencils.  I was going through some of my scrapbooking stash and came across these fun scrabble tiles and thought they would make a nice addition to the card.
Don't forget to pick up your Free image at Bugaboo!  It's only available for free for the week.

Heard You Caught A Bug

This weeks Oldie But Goody card is all about making someone feel better whey they're sick. I know it's hard to think about during all this warm weather but soon enough we'll be heading into cold and flu season  again and I want to be ready with cards to send and give out.

Bugaboo Stamps Bug Jar images are perfect for get well cards.  There are all these cute bugs captured in jars and they are great  paired  with a "caught a bug" sentiment and they are so darn cute, they're sure to put a smile on a persons face.

Here's my card using one of them:

I printed him on white card stock and colored him using watercolor pencils and a water color brush.  I also cut and colored the lid of another image an fussy cut it and popped it up using dimentionals.  To give the image a real glass like look I added glossy accents over the image.  The sentiment banner is from Shannon's Sentiments and I printed the words using my photo editing.

Be sure to stop by the Catch The Bug blog to check out all the fabulous Oldie But Goodie projects the design team created for you!

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Swinging by to wish you well

This weeks challenge at Catch The Bug was to make a "Get Well" card. It seems like there is always such a great need for them.  Especially this time of year.
I had so much fun making my first easel card for last week's challenge, I thought it would be fun to make another one!  This time I chose to make a window on the front and this cute image, Deacon Swing, was the perfect image choice for it. I like the way it looks as if he's swinging by to wish someone to get well.  Such a nice guy!

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.
I used my Label One Nestabilities to make all the framesand my Oval Nesties for the sentiment.
Papers are blue and lime textured and DP from a Cricut mat pack.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum only using buttons and a bow to finish it off.

I think I may be hooked on these so plan on seeing a few more here and there.  Hope y'all had a nice President's Day.  I sure have enjoyed the extra day off.  Tomorrow it's back to business as usual so until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN
