Hang In There-Catch The Bug

Hang in there!  That's gonna be my mantra for this month.  I have so many changes going on in my life right now, some good and some not so good!

Yesterday was my last day on the job,  a job that I dearly love and will miss greatly.  Today my youngest daughter graduates from High School and me and the hubster celebrate 31 years of marriage.  Then in three weeks we make our move to Fort Worth without my daughters, just gonna be me and the guys.

Whew!  Life is always full of changes and I know that with the God's grace we will all be fine when everything's said and done, but I still find myself a little unnerved at times so I need to keep saying to myself, "Hang In There".

How perfect was the timing for this weeks NEW RELEASE at Bugaboo Stamps??!!!   Check out the fabulous images Jodie created for this set!

Instead of printing the sentiment small  and using it as and accent for my card, I chose to print it large and make it the focal point so the message is loud and clear!

Isn't that awesome?!!  If you like what you see here, you're gonna love all the great creations from the team at Catch The Bug.  You can check them out here

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Glitter Birthday- Paper Crafting World

Sorry this post is a little late in going up.  We had an exciting night here in Dallas last night.  Sirens were blaring tornado warnings and just when one warning would expire another one would sound.  It's a little nerve racking to say the least espacially after seeing all the damage done to Joplin just a few days ago.  So sad!

The storms finally passed us around 10:30 but when I sat down to type up my post, I discovered the internet was out.  We're all back up and running this morning so here is this weeks challenge  at  Paper Crafting World.
  It's a glitter celebrations challenge!!!

Very exciting to me cause I sure do LOVE to glitter things and make them all sparkly!!!  Heres what I did with the challenge:

I colored the image using Copic markers but had originally colored the hearts on her shell red.  It didn't look very good so I colored just the hearts on another image and paper pieced those over the red. I didn't want to have to color the whole image again so that was the quick and easy fix.  I glittered the flowers using glossy accents and dazzling diamonds.  The sentiment on the flower is from Stampin Up's  Think Happy Thoughts.

For more fabulous inspiration and details on the challenge, head on over the Paper Crafting World blog!

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

It's challenge Time

How many of you know someone who is graduating this year?  Raising both hands here!  I have two graduates in my house.  My dear sweet baby boy who is now taller than me, graduated from the eighth grade yesterday and my sweet baby girl who is also taller than me will graduate from High School in a little over a week.  We're so proud of the two of them and both their accomplishments!  I'm sure you are proud of your graduates too!  That's why this weeks Catch The Bug challenge is such a great one!!!   We're making cards with a celebration theme!  Here's the  graduation card I made for my daughter.

This  cutie is from Bugaboo and reminded so much of my Bree when she was little that I  just had to use her for this one.

I colored her using Copic markers!  She's all decked out in Bree's school colors!  The numbers were cut using my cricut and storybook cart.  The sentiment is Graduation Congratulations from Stampabilities.  For the diploma I just rolled up a small piece of card stock and wrapped it with a ribbon and glued it using glossy accents.

Now it's your turn!  I can't wait to see what you do with the challenge!  Remember, there are prizes to be had!!!  All the details and amazing inspiration from the team can be found at the Catch The Bug blog.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

I colored him using copic markers and kept the layout pretty simple and embellishment free with just a few brads. The sentiment is from All Year Cheer II from SU.  The embossed panel was made using my cuttlebug and Fiskars plate.

See!!!  I  told you you were gonna like it!  He looks like he's ready for a fun day out on the course!  So what are you waiting for?!! Head on over to Bugaboo and grab him for your very own!

Hello my fellow crafty friends!  It's Tuesday and I'm very excited to introduce you to this weeks New Release at Bugaboo Stamps!  Her name is Little Ladybug and I think she's just adorable!  Look at her just sitting there on that log in her cute polka dotted dress!  She's a must have for sure!!!

I colored her body and  the grass using copic markers. For the rest of the image I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The frame around her was created with  my label two nestabilities

A rose is a rose......

There's just nothing like the fragrance of a rose  unless you're a card maker.  If you are,  then there's nothing like a great Rose image and  Bugaboo Stamps has got the perfect one for you. Just in time for Mother's Day!  The best part is it's FREE!  Yes, that's right!  It's Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps and Jodie, the owner and illistrator of Bugaboo, has created the most amazing Rose image.  It's just a click and a download away from being yours.  Take a look at the what I did with it:

Isn't that rose gorgeous!  So beautiful and elegant!

I colored the image using Copics and just sponged around it.  That shiny spot you see is the light catching the glossy accents I coverd the rose in.  All it needed to finish it off was a bow!

For further inspiration be sure to check out the fabulous cards on the Catch The Bug blog to see what the design team created using this image.  They'll knock your socks off for sure!

Funny Sentiment-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

It's Friday, my favorite day of the week!  I'm sure I share my love for Fridays with quite a few people, especially if you work Monday through Friday like me. Time for the weekend and some time off.  Yeah!

Another reason I love Fridays is that I get to share our current challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long with you all.  This week our challenge sponsor is Pink Cat Studio

We're supposed to use a funny sentiment on our projects.  Now, I don't know that mine is really all that funny, but it's the only thing I could think of and it went with the image perfectly.

This cute little guy holding the gift is Polar Bear Present and he's ready to celebrate the season!  The tag says "Have an ice Christmas" and I printed it using Print Shop.  With such a "cool' character to work with I just had to add a nice layered snowflake to finish it off!

Won't you join us this week at CSAYL?  We have loads of inspiration to get you started and just think, you could be eligible to win five free images from Pink Cat Studio.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Anything Goes-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Good morning crafty friends!  So glad you're here!  It's Friday and you know what that means?!!!  It's challenge time at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  Anything goes this week, so pull out your favorite Christmas stamps and papers and let's get started.

I thought it would be fun to make one of my cup holder sets.  Instructions can be found here.

To create this project I pulled out some ruby red and old olive card stock. some daisy d designer paper, this cute Snowpeople Border stamp from Hero Arts and clear Circle Christmas stamp from Art Warehouse.
I colored the image using Copic Markers, cut it out and popped it up on a panel of olive card stock that had been embossed with my swirls folder.  This set makes a quick and inexpensive gift for a teacher, coworker, you name it.  You can include a gift card if you want to step it up a bit.

For more fabulous projects and inspiration, head on over to the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog and check out what the team has in store for you.

We hope you join us in the challenge.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Spring Flowers-Paper Crafting World

If you're here for this week's Cooking With Cricut challenge  click here.  Since CWC deals mostly with cut files and I do mostly digital images, I have made the switch to the Paper Crafting World  design team.  The challenges are the same on both the CWC site and the PCW site but CWC features cut files and PCW features digi files.  I hope that isn't confusing.

Now that I have that out of the way, I want to welcome you to our first digi challenge at Paper Crafting World.

Spring-Flowers

Here's how it works.  Pop on over to the PCW and pick up your FREE digital image and get started.  Did I say free?!!  Yes, I said free!  There are two to choose from but you must grab them soon.  They are only free the week of the challenge.

You are also welcome to use any digital stamps from PCW that you may have purchased or the many freebies we have given away in the past.

Here's the card I made using one of this weeks free images, Bear In Flower Pot.

For my card, I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I then cut it out and place it on the panel I cut using my Cuttlebug and Label One nestability.  I pulled out some purple Back To Basics DP and paired it with black and summer sun card stock.  All it needed was a little bit of ribbon to complete it.  Card size is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

I sure hope you join us in the challenge.  For more inspiration and further details on how the challenge works click here.

Warm and Fuzzy-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Good morning! Are you ready for this week's challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long? I know I am! The challenge is to use felt on your project. I love the way felt looks on crafty projects, don't you?

Our generous sponsor this week is the fabulous Perfect Presentations.
A Perfect Presentation offers fantastic templates in a variety of formats, that are easy to use and make a perfect presentation every time! The design team and I have fallen in love with these products and I know you will too. Leigh Ann, the owner, has generously offered a template of choice to our winner this week!

And the best part?   Leigh Ann has two FREE pdf templates for you to download and play with for our challenge.  Goody Box and Candy Wrap!

For my project I chose to work with the Tall Gable Box.

I kept it simple yet elegant this week, letting my snowflake add the perfect accent to this wondeful box.
I layered up a silver fabric snowflake with a felt snowflake that I accented with turquoise stickles and a dew drop center.  To finish it off I added a border complete with ribbon and silver ric rac and a mat cut using my cuttlebug and Label One Nestie.  The side panels are embossed using my snowflake embossing folder to give it more texture.

We hope you join us for this week's challenge.

Until next time, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  TTFN

Put Down That Marker-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Good morning and welcome to this week's challenge brought to you by Christmas Stampin All Year Long.

I know how much you love your markers, I know I sure do, but this week our challenge is to put them down and pick up a brush instead.  For this challenge we have some fabulous images to work with from Instyle Stamps!
If you're not familiar with InStyle, go check them out! They have great images that will suit any style.

I know how much you love your markers, I know I sure do, but this week our challenge is to put them down and pick up a brush instead.

For this weeks challenge I worked with this cute snowman image.  His name is Mr. Ludwig!

I printed him on watercolor paper and then colored him using reinkers from SU and a watercolor brush.  He reminded me of a portrait when I was finished so I decided to frame him with this oval circle that I cut with my cuttlebug and oval nestie.  To finish it off I thought a row of snowflakes with button centers would be appropriate.

I hope you get the chance to do the challenge with us this week.  Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Make Me Laugh-Cooking With Cricut Challenge # 23

Good morning!  It's time for another Cooking With Cricut challenge.  Since Friday is April Fool's Day and is usually spent playing jokes of friends, coworkers and family members what better challenge could there be than to make people laugh.  I hope you all find humor in the card I created.  I have a little bit of a twisted sense of humor, so here goes.

I know, I know!  Not exactly what you expected, right?!  I was gonna go with the "then buy it" saying but this just popped into my head and I decided to go with it.  I told you my humor was kind of twisted so don't say I didn't warn you.  LOL

Anywho, details!  It's time for the deets!

I pulled out my pink and black card stock and my Graphically Speaking cart to make the shoe.  I trimmed most of the black shoe away, only using the portion that would be the sole.  I sponged around the edges to give it some dimention and added the fun bow.

The sentiment was made using Print Shop.

I hope you get the chance to play along with us this week.  Be sure to pop over to the CWC blog and check out the awesome projects from the team.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Little Brown Dress-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

It's Friday and it's time for another challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Round are you ready?

We had a great response last week with so many wonderful participants. We're excited to see who will join in for this weeks challenge.

          Today's challenge is sponsored by

Deedee has generously donated a $10 credit to her online store to one lucky winner!

To get your creative juices flowing McKenzie has selected this adorable dress to inspire us.  Let's get started!

The little brown dress inspired me to create this card.

I chose to work with this cute image of the penguins all tangled up in lights.  It's called Merry & Bright and isn't it fun?!  Just like Christmas at my house.

I  colored the image using copic markers and then paper pieced it on the kraft circle.  To give the lights a "real" look I covered them with glossy accents.  I drew inspiration from the color and form of the dress so I pulled out some of my Daisy D paper I had been hoarding and I threw in some scallops.  The dress has a vintage look to me so I also added some sponging to all the layers.  I finished it off with some ribbon and twine.

That's my card for this weeks challenge.  I can't wait to see how you're inspired!

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Exciting News

Oh my goodness will somebody please pinch me?!!!  About a week ago I got an email from Tammy Miller with "Bugaboo" in the subject line.  Tammy Miller is the design team coordinator for Catch The Bug challenges so I was a curious about what the email might contain.  When I opened it, my curiousness changed to down right excitement.  Catch the Bug was asking  me to be their Biggest Fan for March.  I love me some Bugaboo stamps so I did a little happy dance for a minute or two and then I emailed her back right away to say thanks, I would love too!  As the biggest fan, I get the privelege of participating in today's challenge with the team.  What an honor!

Today's challenge is an Anything Goes challenge and I was so excited that I made not one but two cards for it.
For my first card I colored my  Deacon Rain image using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  To give his rain slicker a real look, I covered it with glossy accents.  The cloud was cut using my Graphically Speaking cart and Cricut.  I also ran it through the Cuttlebug using the swirls folder to give it a little more texture.  The designer paper is from my Back To Basics mat pack.  Looking at the picture now I'm thinking I might add a Cheer Up sentiment to the cloud.
For my second card, I colored this cute little Ava Flower image using Copic markers.  I fussy cut her out and layered her over a punched circle on a punched  border. I wanted this card to be sunny and cheerful so I used summer sun and some more Back To Basics paper.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Sincere Salutations set.

Aren't those some of the cutest images you've ever seen?!!!  Be sure to pop on over the Catch The Bug blog and check out the inspiration the team has created for you.  Join in on the fun, too!  You have the chance to win some free images and who knows what else it might lead too.  You might just be their  future Biggest Fan!

Until next time, thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!  TTFN

Ella Blue

I finally got around to doing the current challenge at By Lori Designs challenge blog.  This has been a busy week for me but I didn't want to miss out on it.

The colors to use this week are pink, blue, olive and white.  GREAT color combination!  It's such a clean and fresh combo.

I colored Lollipop Ella using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  The rest is pretty simple.  Just a border and a punched frame using my Label One Nestability and some ribbon and I was done.

I'm heading off to bed now but needed to get this posted first!  Y'all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

I Need A Hero

Don't we all?!!! Today's card was made with just that thought in mind. I think of the brave men and women of the Armed Forces when I think of hero. Being a former military wife myself, I know the sacrifice that they and their families make every day to protect our freedom and this is my shout out to them.
This is the free image I earned by participating in the weekly challenges at Hambo Hoedown.  You can find the details here.  This week's challenge is a layout challenge.

I colored the image using Copic markers and then cut it out and placed it on the oval panel I cut using my Nestabilities.

For the blue background I embossed it using a Fiskars embossing plate and my cuttlebug.  I then inked it up with Versamark and dusted on some gold Pearl Ex powder.

To make the stars I used my Cricut and George cart and then added glossy accents  I also added glossy accents to the medal.  Thats pretty much it.

Until next time, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  TTFN

Swinging by to wish you well

This weeks challenge at Catch The Bug was to make a "Get Well" card. It seems like there is always such a great need for them.  Especially this time of year.
I had so much fun making my first easel card for last week's challenge, I thought it would be fun to make another one!  This time I chose to make a window on the front and this cute image, Deacon Swing, was the perfect image choice for it. I like the way it looks as if he's swinging by to wish someone to get well.  Such a nice guy!

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.
I used my Label One Nestabilities to make all the framesand my Oval Nesties for the sentiment.
Papers are blue and lime textured and DP from a Cricut mat pack.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum only using buttons and a bow to finish it off.

I think I may be hooked on these so plan on seeing a few more here and there.  Hope y'all had a nice President's Day.  I sure have enjoyed the extra day off.  Tomorrow it's back to business as usual so until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

We Heart You

Happy Sunday!  I'm back today with a card for this week's challenge on By Lori Designs.  I finally played around with the BLD image that was included in the Help For Katie package.
I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I chose to frame them using my Label One Nestability.  I created the sentiment using Print Shop.  All I had left to do was cut out another heart and pop it up on dimentionals.  I used quite a variety of papers: brown, lime green, white and dp's from Nana's Nursery and a Cricut mat pack.

I'm gonna get this posted and head off to bed!  Nighty night all!  Thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Shannon's Sentiment Purely Sentimental Challenge

Good morning and welcome to this week's Purely Sentimental challenge brought to you by Shannon's Sentiments.  One of the fun things I get to do as  guest designer is host one of the weekly challenges.  I've never hosted a challenge before but it sure was easy to decide what we were going to do this week.  After seeing all her new release sets and seeing all the beautiful sentiments they contain  I thought it would be fun to put the spotlight on the sentiments and keep our cards "purely sentimental".  No images just sentiments and embellishments.  Go crazy with the flowers, brads, ribbon, embossing but no images.
I chose Life Quote from her new Hands Of Time set.  After printing it on white card stock, I framed it using my Label Two nestability.  I then added a border and row of flowers top and bottom of the panel. To finish it off I added  some sponging and another border along the bottom with some ric rac and a crinkled bow.  The paper used:  purple textured, white textured and dp from  my Classic Coordinating Prints and Cardstock mat pack from DCWV.

For more inspiration head on over to Shannon's Sentiments blog and see what an amazing job the team has done this week.

Be sure to join in the fun too!
