Pretty Penny

Have you seen all the fun stuff going on over on the Color Throwdown blog? They're celebrating 100 color challenges! Wowee!!!!! They are giving away over $1700.00 dollars worth of amazing prizes! The fun all started yesterday and you can bet I wanted in on it.

I'm new to this challenge, I mean I had heard about it before, but this is the first time I've joined in. Here's how it works: each week there's a new color combo and you make a card or project based on those colors. You don't even have to be exact which is good for me cause I didn't have all of them and had to improvise.

Here is my submission for this weeks color throwdown.

I stamped the flowers first and masked them and stamped the flowers in the background over them. I then colored them using Copics. I love these Penny Black flowers in red, don't you?

I then punched the image out using my oval nestie and sponged around the flowers.

I paired the image with various DP's from Marks Papers Company and MME.

I thought I was finished before I added the squares at the bottom but it just looked like it needed a little something more. I rummaged through my buttons and came up with these cute little ladybug buttons. Just a few snips with my scissors and some glue and they became the icing on the cake, so to speak. I think it was meant to be.

Time for me to get off this crazy contraption and check on the boy child to see if he's okay! He's always been an early riser but has taken to sleeping in this summer. Ahhhhhh! To be a teenager again and sleep as late as you want! Wait!!!! Did I just say I wanted to relive my youth? That's just crazy talk!!! I guess I've forgotten all the other stuff that went along with being a teen. No thank you!!! I'll just keep things as they are!

You all have a terrific day and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Cuttlebug Be Inspired # 28

Good morning and welcome to this week's Cuttlebug Be Inpired Challenge. Have we got a treat for you today.

Our theme this week is "Home Sweet Home" and our sponsor is none other than Marks Paper Company. Wow! I love these papers and I think you will too. Check out the framed art I made using some of the papers from their Old Fashioned Courtship Collection.

Here is a closeup of the flowers.
I started by cutting out two of the flowers and making them my focal point. I added some crystal effects to the flower tops for a little extra beauty. For the background piece, I used my textiles folder and sanded it to reveal the core. Since the paper is two sided I couldn't resist folding one of my corners. I finished it off with brads, lace and ribbon.
Your gonna love what the design team did with this challenge. You can check out their work on the Cuttlebug Challenge blog. Just click on the link and you'll be whisked away to all kinds of creative decor.
We would be thrilled if you did the challenge with us. Just post a direct link to your creation on Mr Linky. You can find it on the Cuttlebug Challenge site. One lucky person who participates will be chosen to win a pack of papers from Marks Paper Co. What a deal!
I also want to remind you to mark your calenders for the upcoming Spa Weekend. The projects we've created for it are amazing and so are the prizes. The festivities will kick off on Friday, May 1 at 8:00 AM and will go all weekend. believe me, you don't want to miss it!

I hope you enjoyed today's post. I enjoyed creating it for you. Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by. TTFN
