Craft-Dee BowZ first blog hop

hairbow copy

Welcome to the first ever Craft-Dee BowZ Blog Hop. This months blog hop is featuring a Valentine theme. If you hopped here by way of Patti’s blog  then you are in the right place!! Otherwise you might wish to start at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog to become eligible for a Craft-Dee BowZ tool and a spool of beautiful ribbon.

We were given three different types of ribbon to use for this blog hop. As soon as I saw the ribbon, I knew what I wanted to do. I used the wired heart ribbon as my base and made a 4 loop bow as big as the Craft-Dee BowZ would go. Then I took the white lace and again made a 4 loop bow but a few sizes smaller. Lastly I took the polka-dotted ribbon and made a 2 loop bow with tails just a size smaller than the lace.  Glued them all together to get this:

hairbow copy
After the Helmar 450 glue had dried, I glued it onto a small barrette.

Here is another shot not so close up. Can’t wait for Valentine’s day for her to wear this to school.

Now head on over to Barbara’s blog to see what she has made using the Craft-Dee BowZ. And don’t forget to comment along the way to be entered in the drawing for a Craft-Dee BowZ tool and a spool of ribbon!

May Arts/OCL Happy Birthday

May Arts
has joined OCL again this week for some fun filled projects. There is also some May Arts ribbon to giveaway this week too!

I used the newly released set, Everyday Sentiments and cut it out with Spellbinder’s Fancy Tags Three. I used two different kinds of ribbon from May Arts on my card, .421 1/2”x15y Crochet in cream and 360 3/8”x30y Scalloped Trim in purple, layering them together. Added some prima flowers and black brads.

Dandelion seeds (and blog candy)

This week, the Our Craft Lounge design team will be sharing projects using May Arts ribbon. Stop by the OCL blog each day to see a list of designers who will be posting projects combining OCL and May Arts. And, don’t forget to leave some comments everywhere each and every day (details at the end of this post) this week because there will be FIVE prize packages of blog candy this week!

I used Dandy Days by OCL for my card. Went over the image lightly with copics to give it some color. I did a faux brick technique with the image and then stamped the sentiment on. I really wanted to use the net trim that May Arts sent so I paired it with the yellow two tone ribbon to give it some pop. Tied the ribbon through a button.

ambersmayartwendcardajh copy

Love Potion #9 - OCL sneak

lovepotionajhcopy
Thank you for all the get well wishes. Little one was able to go back to school yesterday! Now I’m keeping fingers crossed that the other 2 kids don’t get it as they have a Christmas concert tomorrow! Speaking of Christmas, I finally got around to changing my blog background! Was cutting it close there. But now on to why you cam here in the first place.

I’m back again with a sneak at another Valentine (or love) set from Our Craft Lounge. Today I am showing you… Love Potion! Not like you couldn’t figure that out by my title!

I decided to create a little scene by using 3 different stamps. Using the clear stamps makes it a breeze to see where to position the images to make it look like I was pouring hearts to make the right love potion! How cool is that? If you look carefully, you will see another stamp from the set on the pink in versamark. And that cute sentiment comes with the set! Twine is from May Arts.

Now it's time to check out what the rest of the girls have come up with on their blogs.  Make sure you leave some love on our DT blogs {below} as well as on the OCL Blog & Facebook page because we have some great blog candy to give away.  Comments end tonight (Friday, December 16th at midnight Pacific time).

Operation Julie’s Smile Blog Hop with a sneak peek

OJSPumpkinajh copy

I am so glad that you have joined us on this amazing blog hop for Operation Julie’s Smile. If you came here from Pattie Goldman’s blog, then you are in the right spot. If not, you may want to start from the beginning at the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog and take your time. You have ALL WEEKEND to hop with us and win prizes!

What an honor to be a part of such a large blog hop, and for such a great cause. Here is a little bit more info on this great cause for those of you who have no idea what cause I am talking about:

“The creative blogging community is coming together this weekend to help one of our friends, Julie Ranae. You may know her as the Design Team Coordinator for many wonderful companies from bakers twine, die cuts, rubber stamps and more. What many people don’t know about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty major dental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child. It was in her plans to think about having all of her teeth replaced at some point in the next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out. But then it happened…she chipped her front teeth on a weekend a month ago. The dentist told her there was no way to save them & that it was his recommendation that she give in and have all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could begin to heal. He said he would 'work out payments with her to have ALL this work done...but when she called to make her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and that the 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husband Paul was with her & that too, was his understanding as well. So this is how she has found herself in this situation…Needing at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.

Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet Stamp Shop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation and before Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight!

It is the goal of all of these generous friends & sponsors to help make this situation more do-able for our friend so that she can share a brand new smile with all of us soon.

If there is anything you can do to help with a financial donation, there is a “donation” button ready for you to click over to the right. Any amount is appreciated and ALL DONATIONS will be eligible for prizes from our sponsor pool of over $2500.”  A complete list of sponsors is listed on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog.

And here is my card I made just for this blog hop. I made a Double Z-Fold Card that was shown over at SCS. Used a new (digi) image that will be coming in a month or so from Paper and Such but Julie is letting us show it off just for today. Colored the image with prismacolor pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. Distressed entire card with distress inks. Used Pink Paislee Amber Road collection for the design paper.

OJSPumpkinajh copy

And the card when it is open.

OJSopenajhpumpkincopy

I hope you enjoyed your stop here on the hop! The next stop is Janice Melton’s blog. Make sure you leave a comment here before you go so that you can have a chance at the amazing prizes up for grabs and if you can, please make a donation so we can help bring back a new smile for our friend.

Since this is such a large blog hop, there could be a break somewhere in the chain, so please bear with us.

You have the entire weekend to get around to all the blogs to be eligible for prizes by leaving comments and or making a donation. The blog hop runs through Sunday, October 9th at 11:59pm EST.

Did you like the digi image I used on my card? Well… Julie from Paper and Such is offering this sweet new digi image to those who donate to the cause.

pumpkin_pickers_2watermark

 BUT you have to go the Paper and Such blog and leave a comment there that you did donate in order to receive the image.

That’s right folks…donate to the cause (as little or as much as you can) and you get the digi for free! Isn’t it adorable??

The very talented Angela Fehr designed it. Angela will be designing for Paper and Such, and you will be able to purchase her creations, starting in November. I can’t wait to see the other images!

Thank you for taking the time to read through this post and for being a part of the blog hop. Best of luck with the chance to win!

2Sisters – Fancy Fold
Crafty Purple Frog – Lots of Layers

So excited to announce that Our Craft Lounge and May Arts are teaming up this week to show you some amazing products from both companies. Check out The Lounge for snippets from the Design Team that is sharing samples today and leave some love for some chance at some blog candy (details below).

I used Coastal Wishes and the sketch347 over at SCS. Colored the images with copics. Used three different colors of string/burlap from May Arts and braided them to make the rope coming from the lifesaver. Twisted them to add under the sentiment.

DSCF4964

Just because the giveaway is over doesn’t mean you can’t have something. Don’t forget the coupon code from Dali Decals
for my readers: 5% off with no minimum purchase necessary! The code ambersantics5off is good till Oct.1!

Also don’t forget to you still have time to sign up at the Dali Decals Back Lot
Launch Giveaway!

Now on to our winner.. Random.org picked…. DRUM ROLL PLEASE…..

Misty Crockett said...

Tons of stuff I liked on Dali Decals page, but if I had to pick one I would do a custom order. I have been wanting Jeremiah 29:11 to go above the steps so I would see it everyday when I come downstairs

Congrats, Misty!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Long post ahead but so worth it. You don’t want to miss this giveaway! Remember back when we moved….way back in June and I said I had some awesome blog candy I was working on to give away?
Well the time has finally come! I know, I know, you are wondering what I could have that would be so awesome to give away. Well…. it is NOT craft related for starters! How is that? So even my non-craft friends (yes, I do have those!) can get excited about this giveaway!
As you know we painted our new bedrooms and since we rented before, we could not hang stuff on the walls so our new walls were looking pretty bare. Well not any longer!
Allie had decided she wanted polka dots on her walls but I didn’t want to have to paint them on. (can you see where this is going yet?) So I googled wall decals and found this amazing site called Dali Decals. The kids and I fell in love with their products and have a wish list a mile long.
(the following 3 pictures are from Dali Decals website that I have permission to use)
Allie and Jorden want these polka dots for their room … 192 polka dots to be exact! polkadots-room400
Carmen is in love with this huge dandelion (this one shown measures 22 inches wide by 65 inches high!) and you can get extra seeds for a little more $! How cool is that?:
dandelion-new-room400
Ben wants these flying all over his room:
biplanes-room400
And of course I have my favorites for each area of the house too . And not only that but Dali Decals can even create custom printed decals and murals from your high resolution images! (I’m thinking I will be going custom next time around for one of the walls in my bedroom, just have to find that perfect saying/verse)
Anyways Dali Decals was nice enough to allow me to do a review of their product. So with a nice little gift certificate in my pocket from Dali Decals … I went “shopping”. It was so hard to narrow down what I wanted that I ended up getting a few different things. Of course my gift certificate didn’t cover it all but I didn’t care, I was happy to spend some a little more money to get what I wanted.
The Wall Decals came packaged nicely in this cute box. Notice the warning as it had me cracking up. (don’t forget you can click on the picture to make it bigger)shipment
Let me tell you these were so easy to put up that I did it all by myself! (yes, I am proud of that. The kids did tell me how they thought it should be positioned before I actually took off the backing. And of  course each one had to apply a bird where it was going!) Directions sent with the decals are great and they also include a squeegee so you don’t have to go hunting for something to help smooth down the decal when applying it to the wall!
For what will be my sitting area in my bedroom, I went with Baby Blossom Branch with Birds. This wall decal comes in two sections for easier application and measures 52 inches wide by 20 inches tall. Also the birds (which measure 4 inches wide by 2.5 inches tall) are separate so you can place them anywhere you want. AND you can colorize the branch and birds to be different colors if you wish. I went with the branch being brown but wanted the birds to “pop” so asked for them to be matte dark red. (Dali Decals has a  complete color chart to choose from)
This is what you see now when you walk into my bedroom:
sideview
And here is a close up of it from the “front”.
close up
I’ve always wanted to decorate my laptop and Dali Decals has sets for as low as $10.00! I finally decided on the Mini Gerbera Daisies:
laptop
I have just one more to show you. (I told you this was a long but worth it post!) I also got some cute butterflies that went perfect in my bathroom. They are red but it was so hard to get a good, good picture without sitting in the sink to do it!
bathroom
Dali Decals sends a practice decal with every order. Well it just happened to be a PINK flower. Jorden quickly grabbed it and without telling, placed it on her wall (to the dismay of Allie)!  jordenswall See, I told you these wall decals were easy to apply if my 5 yr. old can apply one with any help from anyone.
And since Dali Decals is so AWESOME (yes, they themselves say that) they have also given me a coupon code just for you, my readers: 5% off with no minimum purchase necessary! The code ambersantics5off is good till Oct.1!
And now Finally…
GIVEAWAY Rules:
*Open to US, only
So how would you like to win a $25.00 gift certificate to Dali Decals?
wall decal you would love to have (or have one custom made) and where you would put it.
I will draw a winner next week Thursday so please make sure you leave a way I can contact you.
New Home and No Layer card
Ambersinlgelayercopy
Before I get to the Paper Pretties challenge/card. I would like to share with you what I have been doing this week……MOVING!!  We are finally homeowners and have been busy painting rooms and moving in!
And you will want to keep tabs on my blog because I have an awesome giveaway in store just to celebrate our move! Can’t say when the giveaway will happen as I am working on the details right now but let’s just say you won’t be disappointed!! (I’m so excited about it)
Here is just a snippet of what our house looks like from the front yard.
And here is a tease of one of the rooms that got repainted: (yes, I let the kids help paint..right down to the 5 yr. old!)
Jorden painting her side of the room.
K, now that I made you curious to what the other rooms look like and that I’ll be having an awesome giveaway…. It’s time again for another Paper Pretties challenge!  This week it is to make a no layer card. Yup, that’s right… a single layer card!!
I used Graduation Fairy Sofie as oldest had graduation parties to attend to these past few weeks. I paper pieced Sofie and colored her with copics. Dry embossed a frame around her and stamped the sentiment on the side. For my top, I did a faux layer by sponging over a piece of scrap paper that I had used a border punch on. I then added bling and some ribbon.
I used DCWV The Crafty stack for my card. Distressed a piece of color coordination that I also border punched. If you look closely, you’ll see I added some floss to the spool and needle and also sewed on a button in the corner.
Valentine’s Day Blog Hop!
beeminajh
Welcome to a BIG Valentine’s Day Blog Hop! What started out as one person’s idea to share a little love with a few friends.. grew to be 40+ participants and 19 sponsors giving away a total of 21 prizes!
Hopefully you just came from Cyndi Bundy’s blog, if not you can start at the very beginning which is Taylor Usry, I’ll wait for you.
So I loved the Featured Stamper210 gallery that I had to case this card of hers.  I used Just Bugz by Our Craft Lounge. I stamped the bee and colored with Copics: Y18, Y15, Y13, Y11. Used Y11 on the wings with the blender pen. Went over the bee’s body with copic Black. I used Chatter Box rub-ons for the sentiment. Added some sheer blossoms with some bling for the middles over top of the ribbon.
beeminajh
So what is Valentine’s Day without something sweet? So for your viewing pleasure…. I have for you… Sweetheart Valentine Cupcakes!
ValentineCupcakesajh
I was asked to make cupcakes for a Couples Valentine party last Friday night that I was also attending. I made 24 chocolate and 24 vanilla cupcakes iced with Pink extra special buttercream icing.(it’s called extra special because it has a cup of whipping cream in with the buttercream!) I filled them with a chocolate mousse. It was a nice little surprise for everyone when they ate them. Believe it or not there were actually cupcakes leftover!
So I printed out MyGrafico’s Cupcake Wrapper on plain cardstock to use as my template. I downloaded Love Bug Clipart and printed out the digi paper that is included in the set. Taped on the cupcake template on the back and cut it out. You get 2 cupcake holders per sheet of paper. And the best thing about the cupcake wrapper and love bug clipart… they are FREEBIES at MyGrafico! Look how cute these are!
ValentineCupcakesajh
Hope you have enjoyed my projects. Don’t forget to leave me some love as  I may just be one of  the chosen blogs to give away some candy and believe me, you don’t want to miss out on this blog candy!
Now hop on over to Angelique Nederpel to see what love she has to share with you.  Don’t forget to leave your love (comments) as you hop along because the more love you leave, the more chances you have to win and we don’t know which blogs will be handing out the candy so you’ll want to leave love at every stop! Comments will close on Thursday 6:00 pm EST.
      Happy Valentine’s Day!
