CCEE1415 - Bunny or Egg

hoppyeasterajh

Time for another CCEE Stampers challenge. “The Easter Bunny is coming to town on April 20th, so this week Kathy Bradley has challenged us to  make a card using a bunny or an egg – or both if you like!”

I pulled out “Hoppy Easter” from North Coast Creations for my card. I had the image all colored when I completely changed my mind 360 degrees! I went with just embossing the image in white! No color at all on the image and I love how it looks. Stamped the sentiment and sponged around it in same ink. To add a little color, I went with the layer underneath and a “pop” of the button.

North Coast Creations Look Back

happyeasterlookback

Today we are taking a look back at North Coast Creations March Release. For more inspiration using the March Release be sure to visit the NCC Blog.

I used Easter Basket for my card. Decided to color the image with prismacolor pencils and blend with odorless mineral spirits. Used white gel pen for inside of the flowers and used a glitter Spica pen for the middle of the blue flowers. Design paper is ODBD Blooming Garden Collection.

CCEE 1412, Spring or Autumn

HopintoSpringajh

Joanne has another fun challenge for us over at CCEE Stampers. “Spring has Sprung here in the U.S. but Frances, in Australia, is facing Autumn. One thing these two seasons share are bright blue skies and lots of color in nature. Make a card/project with a spring or autumn scene including blue skies.”

I used North Coast Creations  Hoppy Easter for my card. Colored the image with copics. Added some Flower Soft to the middle of the flowers and did a little cutting out of the circle. I sorta forgot the blue sky part but I colored blue around the bunny some so I am calling that my blue sky. Smile

If you want to join us, feel free to link up your card over on the CCEE blog! We would love to see your creations.

It is March which means SPRING is near so with that being said, North Coast Creations is releasing three Easter sets this month.  You can also check the NCC blog for more info on the release. Following are two of the sets I used.

NCC-Regular Size SetNCC-Regular Size Set

For my first card I used Hoppy Easter. Colored the image with copics. Used a little white gel pen for the middle of the flowers. Added a little green Flower Soft for the grass and did a little out of the box cutting. Decided to use Floral Sentiments 2 (also by NCC) as my sentiment to show how the sets from the past two months work great with this release.

For my next card I used Easter Basket. Colored the image with copics. Added a little white gel pen for the middle of the flowers. Image is on dimensions and added some bling to the corners.

Easter Blessings

EasterBlessingscopy

Can’t believe Spring is just right around the corner! With Spring comes Daylight Savings Time, the budding of trees/flowers, return of birds, my oldest birthday (she will be 17!) and of course Easter! So what better time to start showing cards using Spring Just For Fun Rubber Stamps?

Today I have a clean and simple Easter card to share. It didn’t turn out how I had started it in my head but like the simplicity of it that allows the image and sentiment to stand out and speak for itself.

I used  G3582 Easter Cross and sentiment B3594 Easter Blessings. Colored the cross using prismacolor pencils and blending with odorless mineral spirits. I then cut it out completely. Stamped it a second time to just color the lilies and cut them out completely. Attached them to the cross with glue dots and attached the entire image to the cardstock with glue dots. Stamped the sentiment down at the bottom and layered it onto purple cardstock.

I know I was just talking about Spring but I also wanted to share the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps card I made for their blog. So let’s take a trip back to winter just for a second.

I used G3584 Tree with berries. Now we had a sketch we were suppose to use and also do some embossing if we could. I’m telling you the sketch really threw me for a loop but I put my head to the grindstone and got ‘er done.

I went with a scene for my card, masking and sponging on inks to make a sky and snow drifts. Then I stamped my image, pulled out the red embossing marker and some clear embossing powder and made the berries red. A little vellum over the tree to finish up the sketch and WOW! I really like how this card turned out!

Stamps for Causes blog hop

closeupbunniesajh copy Have you seen Paper Pretties Stamps for Causes? We are having a blog hop to show the Digital set “Easter Babies” where all proceeds for this Digital set minus paypal fees will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Hopefully you just came from Kelly’s blog if not, feel free to head back to the Paper Pretties Blog and start from the beginning. I used the three bunnies for my project. Colored them with gray copics and blender pen, added some Sparkly Fluff to the tail. For the front bunny, I printed the image twice and cut out the bunny and attached him with liquid scrap dots to give him some dimension. Sentiment is also from the set.

closeupbunniesajh copy I attached the image to an acetate pillow box filled with jelly beans. I think my son will be giving this to the student teacher he has as her Easter gift. bunniesajhcopy

Helmar + Secret Keeper Card = Total Cuteness

GGgiftcopy
I posted this a few days ago on the Helmar blog and now want to share it here on my blog.

Every spring my dad heads to Mississippi to till up his (90+yr old)mother’s garden and to do some yard work besides visit a little. I thought it would be nice to send along a picture of my kids from Easter as she hasn’t seen them for 3+ yrs.

In looking at the  Urban Swank goodies I have to play with, I found this Secret Keeper Card. GGgiftundonecopy  Ignore the ribbon for now, this is the back of the keeper to show you what it looked like before it would be altered as i forgot to take a picture of it!

Using Urban Lily paper by Urban Swank, I covered the front of the Keeper using Helmar Premium Craft Glue. To get my measurements just right, I simply traced the section I was covering on the back of the paper and cut it out. After it was glued on, I sanded all the edges to get the paper to blend in with the keeper.

I searched the net for a saying that worked and using Photoshop, did a little Word Art (thanks to my classes at Jessica Sprague’s!). I was even able to make the background close to the pink in the paper and printed it out on plain cardstock. Rounded the corners so that it would match when I attached it with Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runnerto the black "business size" card from Urban Swank.  Added some pink ribbon between the layers that was from Creative Impressions. I wanted a little dimension to the word art so I used the white Helmar ZapDots. (see picture below) GGgiftzapdotscopy

As you can see I added another ribbon from Creative Impressions underneath the word art layer. For a little bling, I added three rhinestones to the top layer that are also from Creative Impressions.

GGgiftcopy
For the inside I just attached the picture of my kids using Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner straight to the middle.

GGgiftopencopy

Isn’t this the cutest thing you ever saw? I totally fall in love with it when I was done. Notice the “Easter 2010” on the picture? I got that word art freebie from Bethany at Elegant WordArt. Simple to place right on my picture and print it out. (yes, I took the picture too, Easter Sunday morning we were actually ready with time to spare for pictures! lol)

Supplies used: Helmar adhesive runner, Helmar Zapdots, Helmar Premium Craft Glue, Urban Swank Secret  Keeper Card, Urban Lily paper, Creative Impressions bling & ribbon, Photoshop for wordart

SMC Challenge #7 – Easter Project

HoppyEAsterajhcopy
Welcome to Challenge #7 for Sew Many Cards! The theme for the challenge was Easter Project. Any kind as long as you used a SMC digital image.

Our sponsor is Stamps Alive, owned by Terrie Olsen. Sponsor prize package is a cuttlebug combo embossing folder – Damask. So head over to Sew Many Cards to see how you can play along.

I used Miki dressed as a Easter Bunny. I used copics for the face, cheeks, eggs, belly. For the bunny outfit, I used Gray Prismacolor pencils with odorless mineral spirits. I paper pieced the easter basket using SU’s Tea Party dsp. I then cut out Miki completely and put crystal effects on the eggs to make them shiny.

closeupajhHoopycopy

So what is my Easter Project? Why an Easter Basket of course! I used the Easter Basket tutorial over at SCS in the resource section. It was really easy to make. I used SU’s (retired) Delicate Dots dsp to decorate my basket. I used Martha Stewart’s fence punch around the bottom of the basket and SU’s scallop trim border for the handle.   For the sign I used JustRite Brayton Font and a scalloped square spellbinder all held up with a piece of ribbon. I attached it to the handle with a brad before I added the decorative paper strip.

HoppyEAsterajhcopy

Miki is attached to the basket with some foam dots, all ready to deliver his eggs.
