CCEE 1412, Spring or Autumn

HopintoSpringajh

Joanne has another fun challenge for us over at CCEE Stampers. “Spring has Sprung here in the U.S. but Frances, in Australia, is facing Autumn. One thing these two seasons share are bright blue skies and lots of color in nature. Make a card/project with a spring or autumn scene including blue skies.”

I used North Coast Creations  Hoppy Easter for my card. Colored the image with copics. Added some Flower Soft to the middle of the flowers and did a little cutting out of the circle. I sorta forgot the blue sky part but I colored blue around the bunny some so I am calling that my blue sky. Smile

HopintoSpringajh

If you want to join us, feel free to link up your card over on the CCEE blog! We would love to see your creations.

It is March which means SPRING is near so with that being said, North Coast Creations is releasing three Easter sets this month.  You can also check the NCC blog for more info on the release. Following are two of the sets I used.

NCC-Regular Size SetNCC-Regular Size Set

For my first card I used Hoppy Easter. Colored the image with copics. Used a little white gel pen for the middle of the flowers. Added a little green Flower Soft for the grass and did a little out of the box cutting. Decided to use Floral Sentiments 2 (also by NCC) as my sentiment to show how the sets from the past two months work great with this release.

BunnyBirthday

For my next card I used Easter Basket. Colored the image with copics. Added a little white gel pen for the middle of the flowers. Image is on dimensions and added some bling to the corners.

North Coast Creations Release

Poppiesajh

Welcome to the North Coast Creations January New Releases!  NCC is releasing 3 wonderful stamps this month:

NCC-Regular Size Set    NCC-Regular Size Set

                                NCC-Regular Size Set

I used Floral Sentiments for my first card. Stamped the flower twice. Colored the flowers with copics. Cut out the entire flower. Cut out just the second flower petals and attached the petal section to the flower with dimensions to give the flower a 3-D look. Stamped the sentiment with versamark and ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.

getwellamber

Distressed the background and pattern paper with distress inks. Attached the entire flower with dimensions as well as the scallop rectangle.

I love poppies. Always have. Grew up with them blooming in my mom’s flowerbed. It is my dream to have some at my house, maybe this spring I can finally plant some. So when Kelley showed us the following set Floral Sentiments 3, I knew I wanted the flowers to “pop” off the card.

Again I stamped the flowers twice, colored them with copics and cut out just the poppies. On the cutout poppies, I added some black Flower Soft to the centers. Attached the cutout poppies to the stamped poppies with dimensions. Stamped sentiment and added a bow.

NCC Release and News

KittenPawsajh

I am excited to announce that I am now a part of the North Coast Creations Design Team! And with that little announcement, on to the next announcement which is Welcome to the North Coast Creations November New Releases! Two new sets are being released for your stamping pleasure and I am happy to share them and some cards with you today. Continue reading below to see how you could win a NCC Gift Certificate.

Here are the stamp sets I used:

King of the Road          King of the Road

My first card uses Santa Claws. Colored him with copics and used white gel pen on the circles and on the ribbon. Also used some silver smooch on the ribbon. Used some silver Flower Soft on the hat.

KittenPawsajh
Next I have two cards using Santa Paws. My first card is a tent card. Colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. Sliver pen used on the snowflake. Spellbinder used to cut out the oval and layer. Sentiment stamped inside and some bling added. All cardstock and design paper was sponged with distress ink.

doggiepawsajhcopy

When I first saw this set I had an idea that I hoped would work. With the help of the ODBD Window Die, my card became a reality.

                          window_dies_2

Used brick embossing folder for my background and sanded the cardstock down to give the ‘wall’ a weathered look. Stamped and masked the branch,  colored the ornament with prismacolor pencil Magenta and used a white gel pen on the snowflake. Dog is colored with copics and cut out completely and popped up.  ODBD Window Die actually has acetate behind it to make it look like a real window.

Distress

Alicia

Today is 9-11 and also time for another Paper Pretties challenge today… Distress. How fitting this challenge is for this day when so many were (and still are) in distress just 12 short years ago.

I’ve been seeing so many Christmas cards lately that I decided to make one for today’s challenge. Colored Snowy Snuggles with copics, added some Flower Soft to her cape and some to the ground for snow. Distressed the layers with ink and on the red did some distressing with the distressing tool.

AmberDistressing

How to Enter: If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project using the above challenge and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword PWC275.

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

behappyajhcopy

This week over at CCEE, Sabrina challenged us to Sing, Sing a Song.  Simply to make a card inspired by the words or title of any song. Be sure to share the song too, in case we can't guess it.

Once again I drew a blank… no songs were coming to me… that is until after I had finished my card and then tons of ideas came rushing in!

Anyways I used Mabel Lugie Attwell Let’s Dance from Katy Sue Designs for my card. Colored her with copics, added some white gel pen for the dots on her apron. Since she looks like she is dancing, I gave her a soft spot of Flower Soft Meadow to dance on.

behappyajhcopy

Need help with what song I went with?

“Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy.....

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Look at me I am happy
Don't worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry call me
I make you happy
Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got not girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy (now).....

There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
But when you worry
You make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Don't worry don't do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don't bring everybody down like this
Don't worry, it will soon past
Whatever it is
Don't worry, be happy”

Now that I have that stuck in your head… enjoy the rest of your day and don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week.

You old bird

IMG_4441

This week the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges is Flip Flop Cards. I used the tutorial on SCS: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/swing_flip_flop_card/ for making my card.

Using Return of the Cluck, I went to work on my flip flop card. Sponged on an oval for the ground and stamped the chick on it. Colored with copics, paper pieced the hat and balloon. Added some Flower Soft to the ground for wildflowers.

Amberflipflopflipcardcopy

Stamped sentiment inside and the chick again but didn’t color it.

insideflipflop
(sorry for such a bad flop picture. Thought I had a good one and don’t and have already given the card away! oops!)

If you decide to play along, all you have to do is create a card/project and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C191. Don't forget to go back to Crazy 4 Challenge Blog and link it on Mr. Linky so that everyone else can see it too.

Thanks

embossedthanksajhcopy

Today I went back to old school, Dry embossing a stamped image. I used G1812 Floral Oval II from JFF.  Colored it with watercolor pencils before embossing the flowers on the wrong side. (the leaves are not dry embossed) Added some Ultra Fine Black Flower Soft to the middle of the flowers. Sentiment is from UMS7018 Sentiments 1. Also went with another clean and simple layout.

Tried to get a close up so you could see the dimension of the flowers.

Crafty Sentiments #35 – Color Theme

MichiganSnowmanajhcopy

This week over at Crafty Sentiments Designs the challenge is a color theme of blue, grey and yellow.

I really decided to challenge myself by using a snowman digital image. Used copics to color them, added stickles to their buttons, Flower Soft for snow and white Sparkly Fluff by Our Craft Lounge to their hats.  Used Martha Stewart snowflake border punch. Added some yellow twill and on the twill I used the punched out snowflakes with some Liquid Pearls in the middle. Also added Liquid Pearls to the scallop circle. Used Spellbinders Snowflake Impressabilities on the grey background.

I call this card “Michigan Snowmen” cause of the blue/yellow! LOL

Crafty Sentiments challenge #2 – Color theme

Tobyajhcopy

This week’s Crafty Sentiment Digital Design challenge is a color theme: green, yellow & brown. We were asked to play with certain digital images and I was given Toby in Basket to use.

I colored Toby’s basket with copics in brown and yellow. Used some green thread to do a little stitching which was very easy as I just went over top of the “x” that was on the image.
 DSCF9717

Toby was colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. Had to add a little diamond stickles to the butterfly and crystal effects on the flower. Some flower soft for the grass. Used a mixture of design paper from My Mind’s Eye and some ribbon that was pregathered.

Hello Cupcake

bunnycupcakeajhcopy

Paper Cupcakes is having it's first Design Team and Guest Designer call. For those of you who've always wanted to join a Design Team or be a Guest Designer, here's a chance but the call ends today! For the call you are asked to make a card using one of their images and the sketch provided and then link your card on Nina’s Blog. All info and freebie image can also be found at her blog.

For my entry card, I used the freebie image Nina has on her blog. Decided to pull out the prismacolor pencils this time around and blended with odorless mineral spirits. Added some stickles to the sun, cupcake liner  and butterfly. For the grass I used some Flower soft.  The design paper is from DCWV the Cafe Mediterranean that I just picked up from JoAnns. Added some brads in the corners to finish off my card.
