Just Because I Love You

roseloveajhcopy

Time for another Just For Fun Rubber Stamps card and today I have another Valentine’s card for you. I had a bit of missing mojo on this card right up to the last minute. Hate when that happens but in this case I am loving the final results.

I stamped the G2873 Rose three times and colored each one using copics. Using one as my base, I layered just the rose petals (2 times) and leaves (1 times) to give it a 3-d look. Remember how last week I used just “I love You” but said there was more to the sentiment? Well this week you can see the entire sentiment which comes from UM S7020 Sentiment 3! Also used F1872 Long Script on the red, stamped in multiply times in red and J2539 Swirl Background in black on the white layer for some contrast.

WLS Graduation card

WLSgradLevicopy
It’s that time… Graduation time! Carmen is attending a graduation party today so I whipped out a card for her to take. I found out the school colors and their mascot and wouldn’t you know it? I had a stamp that was their mascot!

IC235 for today was to pick something from Layla Grayce’s online store… oh my goodness!! She has such yummy things! I ended up going with this, Personalized Safari Hat on Animal Print, for my inspiration.

I stamped the background in black distress ink. The tiger I stamped, colored with copics (using blender pen to lighten it up some) and cut out only it’s front half to attach to my card. Everything but the head is attached to the card. Images are from Rubbernecker. JustRite Brayton font was used for the sentiment. (WLS stands for the school.) And black rhinestones in the corners.

SMC Challenge #7 – Easter Project

HoppyEAsterajhcopy
Welcome to Challenge #7 for Sew Many Cards! The theme for the challenge was Easter Project. Any kind as long as you used a SMC digital image.

Our sponsor is Stamps Alive, owned by Terrie Olsen. Sponsor prize package is a cuttlebug combo embossing folder – Damask. So head over to Sew Many Cards to see how you can play along.

I used Miki dressed as a Easter Bunny. I used copics for the face, cheeks, eggs, belly. For the bunny outfit, I used Gray Prismacolor pencils with odorless mineral spirits. I paper pieced the easter basket using SU’s Tea Party dsp. I then cut out Miki completely and put crystal effects on the eggs to make them shiny.

So what is my Easter Project? Why an Easter Basket of course! I used the Easter Basket tutorial over at SCS in the resource section. It was really easy to make. I used SU’s (retired) Delicate Dots dsp to decorate my basket. I used Martha Stewart’s fence punch around the bottom of the basket and SU’s scallop trim border for the handle.   For the sign I used JustRite Brayton Font and a scalloped square spellbinder all held up with a piece of ribbon. I attached it to the handle with a brad before I added the decorative paper strip.

Miki is attached to the basket with some foam dots, all ready to deliver his eggs.

Here’s to a Crappy Day!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I want to show you a card I did during my 1st month as a Dirty Dozen Girl for SplitcoastStampers back in Dec‘08. The theme that month was Obscure Holidays and yes, I had to wait until now to show it as it is only good for today. Why? Because Jan.27 is Thomas Crapper Day. He invented the flushable toilet! Thank goodness for Thomas Crapper! LOL

BUT Jan 27th is also my middle brother, Timothy’s, birthday.
TimHe is the comedian and artist in the family. You can see his amazing art work here at my mom’s PictureTrail.

He wasn't too thrilled when I told him what 'holiday' shares his birthday. In fact he is the one that said "Here's to a Crappy Birthday". So in honor of Thomas Crapper and my brother, I made him a "crappy" birthday card.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The toilet paper, Running Sick, is from Craft Lounge . The party hat, balloons and present are from the set, Lil' Pea-Nut also by Craft Lounge. Markers were used to color in the images that were stamped on watercolor paper. Used aquapainter to shade the markers. Applied Sky Blue Shimmerz to balloon, present and hat. All images are up on dimensionals. The frame is from Creative Cuts & More.

Sentiment was spelled out with JustRite Brayton font and Harmony classic. Crystal Jewel Bling was added on word window punch and sentiment. Used white gel pen to add faux stitching and dots.

He hung it with pride on his refrigerator, I wonder if he still has it up!

Don’t forget to wish everyone a “Crappy” Day! And Happy Birthday to my bro, hope it’s not a ‘crappy’ one this year!

Supplies: Running Sick & Lil' Pea-Nut by Craft Lounge, JustRite's Brayton font & Harmony Classic, so saffron, blue, flurries & frost dsp, watercolor paper, black stazon, markers, shimmerz, white gel pen, dimensions, crystal jewel bling, word window punch, frame die cut

Old Olive snowflakes?

The Limited Supply was a LIMITED SUPPLY challenge this week. Here was the list we were given:

1. The only image stamps/embossing you may use are snowflakes. Yup! Only snowflakes (or something that looks like falling snow). No snowmen, snowwomen or anything, just snowflakes! The same goes for patterned paper . . . it must be snowflakes!! (Get the idea?)
2. Your creation must be monochromatic.
3. You need to add some sort of “bling” or sparkle to your card. Stickles, rhinestones, shimmery paper or ribbon . . . make it sparkly!!
4. Last, but certainly not least . . . sentiments may be ONE WORD only!

I pulled out Rubbernecker Snowflakes and JustRite Harmony Classic Oval stamper. I wanted a different color for my card so I went with Kiwi Kiss! I embossed the snowflakes with Iredsecent Ice after stamping them in Olive Craft Ink. I sponged on Old Olive on all the vanilla pieces. I wanted the flowers on the JustRite stamp to be more like snowflakes so I filled them in with a glitter gel pen. Added bling in the corners by Mark Richards.

I used Sketch 205 for my layout.

stamp: Rubbernecker snowflakes, JustRite Harmony Classic Oval stamper; paper: kiwi kiss, vanilla; ink: craft old olive, classic old olive; accs: mark richard's cyrstal stickers, kiwi kiss ribbon, coluzzle, glitter gel pen, iredescent ice embossing powder
