Dare to Get Dirty Challenge

Sharonsppajhcopy

If you haven’t checked it out yet, this week are the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. This event is hosted annually by the Dirty Dozen, current and alumni, as a little thank you and fun event for the Fan Club Members.  Not a member yet?  Check it all out here.

I was asked to make a sample for one of today’s DTGD challenges being hosted by Sharon (NoTimeToStamp). You can read all the details about her challenge Here.

For my card I used 3 different designs of pattern paper from DCWV The Whimsy Matstack as my background. The sentiment from Treasured Friends by Our Craft Lounge, misc ribbon and spellbinders labels one.

Here’s to a Crappy Day!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I want to show you a card I did during my 1st month as a Dirty Dozen Girl for SplitcoastStampers back in Dec‘08. The theme that month was Obscure Holidays and yes, I had to wait until now to show it as it is only good for today. Why? Because Jan.27 is Thomas Crapper Day. He invented the flushable toilet! Thank goodness for Thomas Crapper! LOL

BUT Jan 27th is also my middle brother, Timothy’s, birthday.
TimHe is the comedian and artist in the family. You can see his amazing art work here at my mom’s PictureTrail.

He wasn't too thrilled when I told him what 'holiday' shares his birthday. In fact he is the one that said "Here's to a Crappy Birthday". So in honor of Thomas Crapper and my brother, I made him a "crappy" birthday card.

The toilet paper, Running Sick, is from Craft Lounge . The party hat, balloons and present are from the set, Lil' Pea-Nut also by Craft Lounge. Markers were used to color in the images that were stamped on watercolor paper. Used aquapainter to shade the markers. Applied Sky Blue Shimmerz to balloon, present and hat. All images are up on dimensionals. The frame is from Creative Cuts & More.

Sentiment was spelled out with JustRite Brayton font and Harmony classic. Crystal Jewel Bling was added on word window punch and sentiment. Used white gel pen to add faux stitching and dots.

He hung it with pride on his refrigerator, I wonder if he still has it up!

Don’t forget to wish everyone a “Crappy” Day! And Happy Birthday to my bro, hope it’s not a ‘crappy’ one this year!

Supplies: Running Sick & Lil' Pea-Nut by Craft Lounge, JustRite's Brayton font & Harmony Classic, so saffron, blue, flurries & frost dsp, watercolor paper, black stazon, markers, shimmerz, white gel pen, dimensions, crystal jewel bling, word window punch, frame die cut

Thanks for looking,

Want a Dirty Dozen Card?

It's that time again.. Dirty Dozen gallery is open! 2 new gals join the group this month and you won't be disappointed! Not a Fan Cl,ub Member? Well then check out all the info here to see how you can be come a Fan Club Member.

Dirty Card, Who want a Dirty Card??

Guess what? The Dirty Girls have each volunteered to send one of their gallery projects to a Fan Club Member! So that means there will be 12 Dirty cards stimulating the US Postal Service Sales this month and ending up in the hands of a Fan Club Member! Each Dirty girl has chosen one specific project to give away. The good news is all you have to do is leave a comment on that project to be randomly chosen! The bad news is you won't know which project it is so go with your gut (or maybe your favorite project) leave a comment or two or ten and it could be yours! Have fun! Good Luck! Hope its YOUR mailbox filled with Dirt! You have two weeks to comment from the day the gallery is revealed.

Here is a sneak of one of my projects that I had lots of fun working on. Now head on over to the Dirty Dozen Gallery, you won't be disappointed!

About Splitcoaststampers and a secret revealed!

Did you know that it is FREE to become a member of Splitcoaststampers known amoung the stamping community as SCS. But have you ever wanted to support SCS for all the hard work that goes into keeping the site running? How about joining the Fan Club? What is the Fan Club? It is a paid subscription that gives you extra benefits such as instant uploads, access to special forums and access to a special monthly gallery (opened on the 15th of each month with 2 new members) created by Splitcoaststampers Design Team fondly known as the Dirty Dozen.

What? You want to see what you are actually paying for? Well guess what? SCS has decided to give everyone an early Christmas present by opening up December's gallery to EVERYONE who is a member of SCS!! And for a limited time, you can become a Fan Club member for only $19.95 or gift someone else a Fan Club membership.

Okay, so you are probably going "why is she telling us all of this?" Well... I have had a BIG secret that I couldn't tell for the past 2 months and can finally tell!! Plus I LOVE Splitcoaststampers, it has helped me grow by leaps and bounds in my stamping mojo and I have made great friends there.

So IF you'd like to see more of this card:

that I designed, then maybe you should head over to the Dec. gallery to see who is being revealed this month as the newest Dirty Girls. It is a good one, let me tell you!!

Did you figure it out before you headed over?? :)
