I'm still working my way through the Prompts for SHIMELLE'S PRETTY PAPER PARTY.
PROMPT#7.....Mixing Patterns
PROMPT#13...Going 3Dimensional
I used SHIMELLE'S 'STARTING POINT' for this week..... raised the scalloped circles, added some twine and used 'Popdots' behind the words.
As you can see I'm still working on DD's NYC album, which I'm hoping to have finished by her Birthday at the end of the month....then I can get on to JYC!!!!
I received this in the mail yesterday, from the lovely JO over at SUGAR AND SCRAP, as part of her commitment to 52 WEEKS OF MAIL ....thanks JO, it was a lovely surprise and much appreciated!
I haven't made the commitment to send a piece of mail every week, but I am trying to do so.
I'm hoping to have a scrappy weekend...what about you?
Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx
i'm hoping to do some more of Shimelle's class
ReplyDeleteNice pages! I'm hoping to scrap my way through a bunch of prompts this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pages! You are trying so many new things!! Love the raised scalloped circles with the twine - very unusual!!
ReplyDeleteLovely pages Alison. I am going to a crop tomorrow and then I have a mountain of book work to catch up with on Sunday.
ReplyDeletei like the titles on both layouts Alison and the mix of patterns are lovely x
ReplyDeleteLovely pages:) I especially like that black and white flower on the top LO and the scalloped circles on the other. Great titles too.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm afraid I did absentmindedly try to drink the passata, thinking it was my coffee!
Glad you have taken a photo cos I'm not sure I did :0)
ReplyDeleteGreat pages - you are on a roll x
Love the dimensional one, in particular! I really like how you flipped the sketch. My strting point sketch is going up tonight.

As I looked at the photo of your daughter and her friends, all I could think of is that warm hearts make all the difference. I've been in New York when it's cold and blustery like it looks in your pic, and it's not fun! But it looks like they overcame weather and had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling a bit scrapped out at the moment, but there is always Storytelling Sunday to be going on with!
ReplyDeleteI love that black and white flower too - it's like a rosette except softer and prettier
Love that black and white flower - did you make it yourself? If so, please share the technique!
ReplyDeleteAll my scrapping supplies have had to be kept hidden away these last few days, well out of the way of little paws/teeth!
Lovely layouts, Alison. I finally tried one or two of Shimelle's suggestions last weekend at my creative retreat. Unlike you I'm not actually putting them in practice, like you, but I am aware of my change in perspective and way of working. Love the mail art. I sent one out this week and plan to post more. I love decorating the envelopes and sending mail that is not expected. That's probably why I liked the idea of BookCrossing. Hope you liked what you saw, when you checked it out! Do let me know if you sign up. I discovered there is a group that meets locally, so may go a long one day.
ReplyDeleteHi there, Alison! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Congrats to you for following through with your prompts. You have a great mix of patterns on your first layout. I am having a a great scrappy weekend. Glad you are, too!
