Five in Five

AMY has thrown down the gauntlet again...

'it isn't scary.' she said... 'You don't even need to make a page.' she said..' This week, if you are game, grab your camera and take five photos (that might be the hard part ;-)) of things that you know won't be around in another five years time..' she said!

I have chosen five things that I sincerely hope will have changed in five years:

This tree HAS to go...it blocks the view over the valley!

Our PC is running through an old laptop, at the moment- it DEFINATELY won't last five years!

This space above DD's wardrobes WILL be a cupboard!

The terrace around the pool will be re-tiled and not have eyesores like this on it!

DH is sure he will use this pile of stones...if he hasn't done so LONG BEFORE five years is up, I may be tempted to start throwing them at him!!

There have been various takes on the challenge, and if you go over to Amy's Blog tomorrow, you should find a link and be able to go have a look  at them all

Scrap-in-the-Moment Day 7

I should have known it was too good to be true..that I'd actually snap, scrap and blog on the same day for an entire week! in saying that, this LO was scrapped yesterday, but the light wasn't good enough to photograph it.

Yesterday saw one of my 'Airport Runs'...honestly, my car could find it's way on it's own by this time! The new all-singing- all-dancing airport opened about seven weeks ago, and is huge in comparison with the old one. The last few times I've been there, it's been fairly quiet...but I guess holiday (vacation) season starts in earnest, this weekend.

So ends my 'experiment'. What have I learned?

I have learned that you most definately remember the details when you scrap-in-the-moment.
I have learned that the most insignificant  (to me) things should be scrapped...they will make interesting reading in the future.
I have learned that using the same sketch for a 'series' is really helpful.
I have learned that scrapping about 'things', rather than people needn't be boring.

Thanks for all your lovely comments....normal service will resume this week, starting tomorrow with Amy's challenge for this week.

Scrap-in-the-Moment Day 3

Tuesday is the day I go the the Market, in the village just 2km beyond us. Although  Friday is Market Day in our own village, due to the size of the village itself, it consists of one fruit and veg stall and one with household items. You can pick up enough to get you over the weekend, but the 'good stuff' is at the Tuesday Market.

Looking forward to seeing lots of 'Scrap-in-the-Moment' Layouts tomorrow....check out
Amy's Blog for details.

Challenging myself....

.....to find something to scrap about, every day this week....and do the scrapbooking the same day!

Thanks to this post by Amy, I have decide to try to find something in my day, that's 'worthy' of a scrapbook page. As I explained to Amy (or tried to..it may have come over as one of my gobbledygook emails!), life here can be so slow that , unless I have visitors not very much actually happens....and then it would be rude to sneak off to scrap. Because of this, my scrapping tends to be of the recent past (as people leave) or longer ago (because there are so many photos still 'waiting' on my PC!!).

But this week I'm going to try to be more aware of what I do do in my everyday life and find something to scrap about every day (and I don't have any exciting plans to cheat with-promise!).

This will either make for a really boring week of blogposts, or maybe I will realise that there is more to my slow life than I think.

I'd be glad if anyone else feels like joining me...if you just want to see if I've succeeded with my personal challenge, this is where you'll find me.

Bouffle....The Layout

All ready for Amy's 'scrap a story this week', here is my layout from yesterday's post.

I have not used Amy's template, but  Shimelle's 'Sketch of the Week'  here.

scrapbooking sketch and page ideas

The journaling is yesterday's post, practically word-for-word.

As I said in the email to Amy, if you were a blind man running past (a favourite saying of my Godmother's) it does look a bit like her template, as I kept the look deliberately 'clean', trying to mirror it a little.

Anyway, I am glad to report that Bouffle has survived her first day of Boo eyeing her suspiciously, and obviously deciding she's only fit to be ignored!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has scrapped about.

Introducing Bouffle

Whilst at the (very wet) local charity Spring Fair on Sunday, mum and I were accosted (as you are at these events) by the very nice lady, whose job it was to get you to sign up to 'name the teddy'. Mum chose two  names, as did I and off we went buying raffle tickets, cakes, tombola tickets etc.(as you do at these events).

Given that I very rarely almost never win anything, be it in raffles, competitions or whatever, imagine my shock when later in the day I checked the answering machine only to find a message, saying that I had won the teddy. At this point I must confess that I had no idea which two names I had picked, so she ( she is very obviously a 'she', as you will see) was known as 'Teddy'- I have never been inventive with 'toy' names, as DD would confirm!- until I went to pick her up. It was then that I was told the name I had chosen correctly, was 'BOUFFLE'. I can tell you that I would NEVER have thought of naming either of the children's teddies anything so original- maybe that's why it jumped out at me?

Bouffle has taken a few days to track down, but she eventually arrived at the branch of the shop in our village this morning, where I picked her up and she is now ensconced in a very comfortable chair in our Naya. Boo was very excited when she was introduced...she seemed to think the Bouffle had come to be eaten ...she was soon put right about that!

With no more ado, meet Bouffle

As you can see, she is a Scottish bear, with her little tartan skirt and bow, so everyone thinks it's very appropriate she came to a Scottish home!

Now I have my 'story-to-scrap' for Amy .

P.S. A measly half pound off this week!....but at least it's off and not on (am trying to be positive!)
