I DID IT ......

......I actually scrapped this week! I used this sketch from LET'S GET SKETCHY

....and came up with this

The fab butterfly embellishment at the top left hand corner, was handmade by my very talented friend MITRA...... and I used THIS  tutorial on MISS SMITH'S blog to make the journalling card

You may remember that my camera went missing just before Christmas (and that DH bought me a new one for Christmas)....well, it turned up under the front seat of my car yesterday!!! Needless to say I am delighted that I have all the photographs I had taken in November and December back....

I do hope the weather hasn't been too bad where you are this weekend....we've had mixed weather with some badly needed rain earlier today...I'm hoping not to see too much more of it while mum and dad are here!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you

PASSING THE BOOK AND A LAYOUT

About a month ago, I received a package from HELENA..it contained this book and little packet of  scrapping 'goodies'

The book...titled LIFTED..was passed on as part of PASS THE BOOK: YEAR 2...the 'goodies' just because Helena is part of the scrappy/blogging caring community!

Now I realise that most of you scrappers out there will think..'Well, I actually KNOW how to scraplift, so why do I need this book?'...but it's a book about scrapping, with lots of lovely layouts to drool over AND shows how you can 'lift' certain elements of layouts, without lifting them in entirity  (something I'm very prone to doing!)..what's not to like?!

As a result of spending some quality time with this book (!), I have been able to 'lift'  this layout by my lovely friend TRACEY

Image

As you can see, Tracey scraps beautifully, but in a TOTALLY different way to me (you really should visit her Blog: her work is fabulous!)

In this layout, the row of flowers with the twine wound through it as the butterfly's trail, as well as the actual butterflies  were what really caught my eye. I concentrated on that part of Tracey's layout and, using this sketch from LET'S GET SKETCHY......

... produced this

I  substituted a mix of flowers from my stash and wound purple twine around them...added a couple of butterflies...and I reckon its a 'scraplift'!

If you would like to be out in the draw for 'LIFTED', and are prepared to  pass it on through your blog when you have finished with it please leave a comment below...I shall choose the lucky recipient on Sunday night.

I'm off to  my Neil Diamond tribute act tonight...would you believe it's an open air event- and it's threatening rain!!

Thanks for dropping by!

DOGGY PADDLING!

As you probably realise by now, my sidekick here is a little white ball of fluff called BOO. When I agreed to bring her over to Spain to live I had no idea just how grateful I would be for her presence and companionship.

At the time Craig had a permanent post in Germany, and I was able to spend chunks of time over there with him, leaving Boo with a friend or with mum and dad when they were here.

For a variety of reasons, he eventually decided he could no longer work for the company, and decided to go into partnership with a colleague, which has entailled  a fair bit of travelling.

With Kirsty having been in Barcelona for the last three years, it has often been just Boo and I 'holding the fort'. I just can't imagine not having her around now...and I obviously talk to her all the time, as when Craig or Kirsty are here they are constantly asking me what I've just said- and my reply is 'I was talking to Boo'!

A bit like the rest of us, poor Boo gets so hot and bothered during the height of summer..more often than not she's to found under our bed from about 10am-6pm, then she gives herself a shake and gets out into the garden, following the shade until the sun goes down. The only time she appears is if she hears  the coffee machine going on (which isn't often in this heat) - or if she realises I'm in the pool.

She has progressed from standing on the top step of the pool to cool her little paws down, to crying to come in for a bit of a dip..and a doggy paddle!

I took these pics  the first time Kirsty 'persuaded' her she would like it, and when I saw that one of the challenges over at  ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE  was to scrap about your pet(s), I reckoned they would fit the bill..and using  this sketch from LET'S GET SKETCHY.......

...this is what I came up with

I'm also linking this up with THE SCRAPBOOKING SOIREE over at JENNIFER'S JUMBLES

Hope the sun is shining on you this weekend- and even if it's not- that you manage to have a relaxing, enjoyable one!
