We all took our pages with us last weekend and, after oohing! and aahing! over each others pages, it was decided that we should arrange a Bloghop for this weekend,

If you are following the Bloghop you should have come from the very talented ALEXA and if not here is the list of participants to allow you to start from the very beginning (as Julie Andrews would say)

LOOKING UP AND DOWN

Joining in with HELENA, and a group of other blogfriends, for this week's LOOKING UP AND DOWN photographs....

LOOKIING UP

I spent a boring  thrillingly, delightful hour and a half here.....

LOOKING DOWN

......watching both  my own and Kirsty's laundry being washed and dried......it was easier than trying to dry it all in Kirsty's flat/apt....money -and time! well spent in my opinion.

! REALLY hope you have looked up and down at more exciting things this week!

Just want to remind you too, that I'm taking part in a PASS-THE-PAGE BLOGHOP on SUNDAY (NOT Saturday, as I said in my previous post)....JULIE'S blog is two years old on Sunday, and to celebrate she asked the crowd of us from the BLOGGER'S WEEKEND to participate in said bloghop. If you are a bit baffled by the 'pass-the-page' bit, please do pop along on Sunday to find out more!

I am off for coffee with a friend now, then checking in on mum and dad...later in the day I'm off to pick Craig up from the airport :) and later again will pick Kirsty up from the railway station....think I may be having something a little stronger than the coffee by tonight!

Have a lovely weekend my friends...hope to see you on Sunday!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you

INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL POT LUCK BLOG HOP!!!

Welcome to this fabby Pot Luck Housewarming party, organised by the lovely DEB over at PAPERTURTLE.

If you have arrived at me from BEVERLY at BE GLORIOUS, you are on the right track...if you've dropped by just by chance, the Hop starts HERE, with Deb herself!

First of all, welcome to my home here in Sunny Spain!

I have cleared shuffled a few things around the dining table (my scrapping table!) in the Naya......that's the large glass-fronted area on the front of the house, so that we can eat there.

It's ZESTY LIME SHRIMP AND AVOCADO  SALAD from me today..... I'm hoping someone's bringing the Margaritas!!

Here's what you'll need:

Jumbo Prawns
Red Pepper
Tomato
Avocado
Onion (red is better, but I forgot to get some so I've used a white one for the pic!)
Lime
Coriander (Cilantro)
Jalapeno Pepper (I'm just using paste mixed with my oili, as they are almost impossible to get here!)
Olive Oil

I haven't given quantities, as I reckon with salad you just use as much as you have/fancy at the time.

METHOD

1.In a small bowl combine red onion, lime juice, olive oil, pinch of salt and pepper. Let them marinate at least 5 minutes to mellow the flavor of the onion.

2.In a large bowl combine chopped shrimp, avocado, tomato, jalapeƱo. Combine all the ingredients together, add cilantro and gently toss. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

Easy-Peasy...and it should look something like this

If you head over to FIONA'S place now, I'm sure she'll have something yummy  to share with you!
Enjoy the rest of the Hop..and thanks for organising the fun Deb!

A SIMPLE LAYOUT.....

.....courtesy of this sketch over at SIMPLE AUSSIE GIRLS (SAG)

Template 35 Sharons challenge

I loved the six blocks, though couldn't get it to work with them being on the RHS of the LO, so I put mine along the top.

I found a pile of photographs my MIL had given us, and although most of them were of DH's childhood there were about a dozen or so of when Stuart was a baby.  So instead of having to cut up this page

and deal with more 'fancy' cut photos, I was able to scan and use the 'new 'ones (though I'll probably cut it up later to use the other pics). Much as I look at those original pages and cringe, I'm glad to have them with that little bit of info on them.

Remember.... if you stop by on Saturday, DEB will be hosting a Housewarming Bloghop which I'm taking part in!

Thanks for dropping by!

A 'VINTAGE' Easter Layout......

......inspired by this week's Sketch Challenge over at  ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE (AFSC). If you've been following my Blog, you'll know that I'm on a quest to get some of my old, original (boring) scrapbook pages re-done...and  over at AFSC , the idea is to scrap about YOU, preferably in your 'younger' days.

My problem is that my mum is NOT a hoarder...and got rid of SO many family pics when my Gran died, and she fell heir to all of her photographs as well- admittedly a lot of them were of the headless, blurry sort so who can really blame her! So when I saw that the Challenge was to create an Easter layout, I was initially a bit stumped...then it occurred to me that we got married just before Easter (in 1980!), and that I had a few Honeymoon pics on a page somewhere. I rooted out yet another old album, and sure enough- all of three pictures on a page, which, of course, I forgot to photograph before carving carefully cutting it up.

This is the sketch from AFSC

and this is my take on it

The pictures themselves are very poor quality, and badly faded...and there were originally an awful lot more of them, but I have my mother's genes and got rid of far too many that, at the time, didn't cut it! I was too busy thinking of saving space rather than posterity, at that point in my life...thank goodness for the digital age!!

So there it is..no Easter Eggs or fluffy bunnies, but another page re-done, and lots of happy memories brought to mind whilst doing so...and apart from leaving a legacy for future generations, that, to me is what scrapping is all about!

If you stop by next Saturday (24th), it will be party time! Our lovely friend DEB over at PAPERTURTLE is hosting a Housewarming Party Bloghop, and a bunch of us are joining her (unfortunately in cyberspace and not in Arizona :<). There will be recipes for Starters, Soups, Salads, Mains..and of course DESSERTS flying through ether..hope you can join us!

Thanks for dropping by!

ANOTHER Bloghop.....

.....this time over at  SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGES. It was their 'Seasons of Change' Bloghop, introducing the new DT and saying farewell to the outgoing DT.

The sketch created for the Bloghop was this:

and this is my take on it

These are my favourite pics of Christmas Morning..the look on DD's face was priceless...and between dad and I we managed to get from the 'Is this REALLY hungry Hippos?' to starting to play with it!!

Hope you're having a great weekend...I have just seen DH off at the airport and returned to my house of invalids. Mum was very sick last night and still doesn't feel too good...and poor dad caught his finger in the car door two nights ago, and is still in pain from that. Fortunately, Mum's friend Barbara (who used to be a nurse) arrived at the beginning of the week, and she has been able to dress dad's finger...I DO mean fortunately, because mum and I would have been hopeless on our own!! We are neither good at dealing with blood, nor being terribly gentle!

Pass the Page Bloghop

A few months ago, Julie from LETTING THE DAYS ROLL BY asked for volunteers to take part in a 'Pass the Page' Bloghop...a bit like 'Chinese Whispers' of the scrapping world. We each received a LO from the person preceding us on the Hop, and took inspiration from it to make our own ....until today, we have no idea of how the LO started - or indeed finished up.

If you have come to  me from HELEN, you are on the right track...if not and you would like to start at the beginning (and be in the draw for a prize), please go over to JULIE'S BLOG.

This is the LO I received from HELEN

I loved the off-centre matting and the positioning of the journalling, and kept these in my take on the LO

Hop over to GINGER now to carry on with the bloghop and to see what everyone else has produced.

Below is the list of participants, in case you get lost!

I can't wait to see how  the LO started and finished......

HAPPY HOPPING!

Miss Smith's Anniversary Blog Hop!

KIRSTY (AKA Miss Smith) is having a celebratory Blog Hop today, in honour of her 200th blogpost! She very kindly made, and sent out to anyone who wanted to take part, a dinky embellishment (which I forgot to photograph separately, and if you've been keeping up with my Blog you will realise I'm in Barcelona- and not actually near the LO I made!), to be used in any LO, card, bookmark etc. of your choice.
When DD and I were back in Scotland a few weeks ago, my nephew (who has lived in New Zealand for the last three or four years) and my niece (who has been in Brisbane for three years) were both there too. This was the first time in years that the three grandchildren had been together at mum and dad's, so it was (obviously) big photo-op time! As they were posing, my nephew remembered a photograph of his brother (who was still in NZ) and decided he should be in the picture too!

I used Shimelle's Starting Point from last week, as the basis of my LO......and Kirsty's embellishment is the layered circle on the left of the word 'LOVE'......here's a close-up

I'm sure you'll agree that Kirsty made a fab job of her embellishments......Happy 200th Kirsty! and thanks for the opportunity to  be part of the celebration!

If you have come to me from  CARRIE, you are in the right place....if you want to start at the beginning of the Blog Hop go to KIRSTY'S BLOG...there you will find the entire list of contributors.
From here, you  should go and visit  ALEXA, and find out what she did with her embellishment!
