Quentin Tarantino is often said to write dialog well. Sometimes he goes way overboard, I am looking at you "Death Proof". William Shakespeare is even more well know for a mastery of words. When a clever person combines the two you end up with pure spun gold.

I also have a bit of site news. Ken and I did a test recording for That F'ing Monkey Podcast. We still need to work out a kink or two, but you can look forward to listening to our dulcet tones in the very near future.

Random Thoughts Again

As I work the "whores hours" to make up for the fact that I dare to take a vacation, I have a random thought post today.

My beloved Tampa Bay Lightning are the definition of inconsistent so far this year. Currently sitting at 17-20-3 with a pittance of 37 points, 25th in the league, and 9 points outside of the eighth playoff spot. It is a far cry from last year when they were looking good. However with all of the hot and cold the team is rocking, the top three of Lecavalier, St. Louis, and Stamkos are playing great. In fact Stamkos is currently in the lead of the goal race with 28, four points ahead of Phil Kessel of the Maple Leafs. I blame it on the boring generic "modern" jerseys. Fuck those sweaters.

I have not had a chance to play Star Wars: The Old Republic in almost 3 weeks. Nothing else here, that just sucks that I am so busy as to not be able to play.

While I was in town Ken and I had a game of 40k. His Salamanders vs. my Eldar. I was hoping for a win so I could rub it in for a while, but it ended in a draw so no bragging rights to either one of us.

That F'ing Monkey's All Swines Day was a rousing success, as much pork was consumed. There was also a cameo appearance by some crazy tasty butterbeer and bacon cupcakes. Although I may have had one too many Everbeers (sneaky bastards), fun times were had by all.

Random Stuff

I have just a quick random stuff update for ya today.

First up - Hockey season finally started last Wednesday. So Go Lightning!

On that same note, the Comic Hockey League is in a lockout this year. Some ownership problems have kept us off the fantasy charts for the season. It has become a staple of my Hockey season and I am going to miss it this year, but c'est la vie. Perhaps next year we will open up expansion to some readers.

Finally I was sick all weekend and that sucks. What sucks more is that when you are single and sick you have no one to whine to and to bring you medicine. Also I watched a ton of Netflix on the ol' Xbox. During that time I came up with an interesting (to me) theory on the show "Cheers" that I will do a full post on next week. So come back for that. You know you want to.

Beard Update -

Well the Lightning lost in the Eastern Conference Finals in 7 games to the Bruins. Even though they did not make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, I still count this season as a win. After 3 years of being down in the bottom of the league it was nice to go deep in the playoffs. So here is the final beard update for the 2010 -2011 NHL season.



I gots to say my beard comes in all kinds of fucked up. It grows different ways depending on what side of my face and all that crap. It was gone about 5 minutes after this picture was taken.

Heroes Vs. Las Vegas -

This weekend is Heroes in Charlotte, NC. Ken will be there and I was scheduled to be as well. However Jerry Lewis has screwed me again. The MDA Telethon happens on the network that
my RL job is an affiliate of and is at the same time as DragonCon. So for the last few years I have missed that Con. Well this year I have to go to Vegas for a meeting for this same telethon. So the two Cons that are on my nerd calender get taken over by Mr. Lewis. Yes it is a great cause and I don't have a problem supporting it, just bah! Both damn Cons....




Leave it to a nerd to be pissed to have to go to Las Vegas. Trust me, I am sure I would have more fun at Heroes.

A Clash of Kings -



I finally finished this book after having taken entirely too long to read. All in all I enjoyed it, although I did not like it as much as A Game of Thrones. As much as I like the overall story, there are many parts that get bogged down in semantics. Like with Tolkien getting caught up in language and description, Martin gets the same thing with relationships of the different families and factions in Westros. Gets hard to read at some points and one or two of the side stories are just boring. Well worth the read if you liked the first book.

Warmachine -

So I talked before about Warhammer, and I still enjoy the back story of that game. However it is ridiculously expensive, so I have been looking into other hobby games. I found Warmachine.

It is still pretty expensive, but you need much less models to play. It is very steampunk and has a pretty cool story. Check it out - Privateer Press.

Random Thought Download

Today is just going to be some random thoughts from the week past. Enjoy my random nonsense...

First you may see that the "Guest Blog by the Cake Fucker" picture is not here today. I have decided not to use it because Monday's are not really a guest blog anymore. It will still be around if I post any other time during the week, just to let you know that it is me. Of course you can also tell that it is me by the distinctive green text.


Ever since I got an IPod I have been getting more and more addicted to podcasts. If you like the humor of Kevin Smith check out the Smodcast Network, some of my favorites are original flavor Smodcast with Kevin and his long time producer Scott Mosier, Tell 'Em Steve Dave which is just random crap from Walt Flanagan and Bryan Johnson, Bagged and Boarded a comic podcast, and Puck Nuts a hockey (mostly the Devils) cast with Walt and Bryan. For a less comedic take on Hockey I am loving the Puck Podcast. For a monthly dose of good comic book chat check out Around Comics. For random nerd talk with a sexy bent listen to our friends at DeviantCast . I have yet to find a good booze cast, so if you know one let me know in the comments.


Last week in Lightning Hockey was a very painful one. It was crazy painful to watch the Bolts fall to the Penguins 8-1 in a sad, sad game that saw Tampa down 5-0 in the first ten minutes of the first. After a pretty weak win in Ottawa, they fell again to the Devils 6-3. The fucking Devils! They are the worst team in the league right now. After that shitty week the Bolts still hold a tenuous hold on the Southwest division with 2 points over the Capitals.

Also they released the first of the NHL Guardians -the Pittsburgh Penguin and the LA King. They are interesting to say the least. For some reason the Penguin has "Super Maneuverability" which seems like a strange power. The King however fits with LA by having a "Seismic Sword" so that is kinda cool. Of course as I was looking for the pics of those guys I found that they have a bunch of the other teams released as well so check those blogs on those links...
