Reykjavik Eyes concept frame - the antithesis of screwless eyewear

There's something a little punk about this concept frame from Reykjavik Eyes. 'Floating', 'rimless' lenses in the middle are supported by eight screws, four on each side.

Factory900 concepts have appeared here before and this one takes the last one to the extreme with these futuristic glasses-cum-head-bracelet.

Designed in collaboration with lens maker Aoyama Kogaku, the entire 360 degrees is made from lens material.

Below are a few Factory900 production models for 2012...

Parasite Vamp sunglasses - incy wincy spider...

Parasite Eyewear never does things by halves, and I've always liked that. It describes this sunglass, Vamp, as "pure stylistic artwork design... it is meant to be unreasonable and extravangant". As a design I think it's incredible, there's so much movement: like a spider, ready to pounce. Perfect for a Halloween party!

Dzmitry Samal's back but this time he's made some glasses...

So I admit to being a little confused as to what's real and what's still in the design stage, because these all look pretty real to me. But they're not.

I featured Dzmitry Samal back in March when he presented some Louis Vuitton concept glasses. Then, as now, he demonstrates his hugely original approach to sunglass creation with not one but three supremely exciting designs...

One of Dzmitry Samal's wonderful designs has been made and can be bought, but which one is it?

(I've installed cutting edge tracking software to detect Googlers and link followers, so go on, take a guess peepers peeps...)

These remind me of a windscreen. Extremely modern, simple design from Leigh Hendrik Cosentino - a great look. What they would be like on is another matter, rather like the extreme aviator visors from Maison Martin Margiela last year, although at least these make a little space for the nose. I love the ice-cool lens colour combined with the blue in the temples.

Thanks to Format mag.

Louis Vuitton concept sunglasses by Samal Design

These are only a concept for Louis Vuitton but I love them. They're by Dzmitry Samal at Samal Design. I've talked before architectural influence in eyewear design and this takes it to another level.
