Baby blues are upsetting Hong Kong stars Daniel Wu and Lisa Selesner.

The American-born actor told the Hong Kong media recently that Selesner, who is in her 30s, blames herself for their childless state.

Said Wu, who turns 37 next month, and is often overseas for work: "We don't have a lot of time together, so how can she get pregnant? I'll comfort her whenever I can and tell her it's not her fault...

"Both of us are over 36 and our biological clocks are ticking. I don't want to miss the opportunity to kick a ball around with my son."

Model and Channel VJ Selesner added: "Daniel is very sweet. His family has never pressured us to have children. The pressure is all from himself because he wants to make his parents happy.

"I know it's hard for us to have a baby when we are in different countries. If we can't conceive naturally, we will try artificial insemination."

The couple, who vacationed in Phuket late last month, married in South Africa in April 2010 after dating for eight years.

In an interview with The New Paper one month after their nuptials, Selesner had said Wu is the first guy in her life she was willing to get pregnant for and that "this says a lot for me".

Wu also told the Hong Kong media in July last year that they were about to begin planning for a child.

Now, more than a year later, they are still trying.

Wu is an only son, and his elderly father longs for a grandson to continue the family name.

Wu, whose latest movie Overheard 2 opens here next Thursday, said he is ready to cut back on his work to spend more time with Selesner.

"I recently became a CEO (of a movie company) and I feel becoming a father is harder than being a good manager," he said.

"(Fatherhood) is like winning the lottery. So once I finish filming the Chinese movie The Last Supper in China, I will concentrate on spending time with Lisa and not work overseas for long periods of time."

He added that they may seek medical help if a baby still doesn't come after another year of trying.

On July 28th, Daniel Wu and Lisa S. held a wedding cocktail party at the jockey club in Happy Valley, inviting four to five hundred of their friends to attend. Since getting married in a private ceremony in South Africa in April, Daniel Wu Yiu Cho has been busy filming non-stop. After wrapping up his latest movie in Hangzhou, and making endorsement appearances in China, Daniel finally had a free moment to hold his wedding banquet in Hong Kong.

Around 9 PM, Daniel and Lisa appeared at the jockey club’s entrance. Quickly surrounded by reporters, Daniel and Lisa shared their happiness openly. The couple kissed deeply and flaunted their wedding rings. Afterwards, they entered the venue and the wedding party officially started. Daniel booked a bi-level venue, with the top level offering a stage for friends’ to perform.

Numerous celebrities attended Daniel and Lisa’s wedding party, including: Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Timmy Hung Tin Ming, Stephen Fung Tak Lun, Andrew Lin Hoi, Simon Yam Tat Wah, Alex Fong Chung Shun, Mok Ho Yan, Michael Wong Man Tak, Josie Ho Chiu Yee, Chapman To, Jordan Chan Siu Chun, Sam Lee Chat Sum, Shawn Yue Man Lok, Zhang Jin, Cathy Chow Man Kei, Terrence Chan Chi Chung, etc. In attendance was also Media Asia’s Peter Lam.

Daniel Wu and Lisa S. secretly got married in South Africa this month and it was rumored Lisa is pregnant. Daniel accepted an interview from Mainland media and denied the rumor. Daniel and Lisa who have been together for 8 years had an interview with Wenweipo the other day. They admitted that they were indeed married in South Africa on April 6. They arranged the wedding two to three months ago, and only invited about 30 people to their wedding including both parents, relatives and close friends. Daniel revealed during the wedding ceremony, he couldn't hold back tears. He said "I was waiting for Lisa to appear, I heard the villagers singing, I started to cry. I feel love, so pure, so warm, very intense and strong. They sang and smiled, I was totally moved."

Lisa disclosed that she always loves children, and she would like to have one or two. A lot of her friends said she and Daniel look alike. She is wondering how their children would look like. When she was asked whether she wants a boy or a girl, they both said they want a boy. Daniel said he is worried if her daughter goes out with boys, and also concerned if he can't communicate with her. It would be much easier if it is a boy. Lisa also agreed looking after a boy is much easier, much safer.
