I'm not joking around when I say so cheap, so easy. This project was about $10 (depending on what you already have). I already had the stain and paint. The hooks were the most expensive part coming in at two for $3, and the wood was $6 for 1x6x4. I had it cut to 18 inches. I stained the entire thing, taped the lines using one inch tape, and painted the white stripes. I then sanded the entire thing with a coarse sand paper. Add your hooks, and you're done! Now, what to do with the extra 30 inches of wood...

[so cheap, so easy]: Drawer Pull Towel Holders
I have issues with towel racks. I have always preferred hooks. I like the towels to hang naturally rather than trying to fold them just right and make them look perfect--because they never do. (And then there's the whole, "Hey, since we're good enough friends, you can no longer use the nice towels." Yes, I'm as bad as Monica Gellar.) I saw this idea on Pinterest, and I love it (if you know the original source, please let me know). Using drawer pulls for your towels is genius, if I do say so myself. (Even if I didn't come up with it myself!) You should do it!

Getting Organized with Hooks
So, how was day one of getting organized? Did you organize something? I'm not going to lie, I was a little thrown off. Jeremy was post call, so he was upstairs sleeping. That means upstairs was off-limits for the majority of the day. Upstairs is where I want to organize. I did, however, manage to organize Stella's bows--lots and lots of bows. I bought a hanging shoe organizer (that hooks to the back of a door), and put her bows in the clear compartments, organized by color...so much better! I also got rid of a ton of her old bows. My goal for today is to organize my dresser drawers. They have gotten a little unruly!
Today I'm featuring some beautifully organized mud rooms, entries, and bathrooms. It's all about the hooks, baby! I'm also a HUGE fan of hooks on the backs of doors and in closets--major space savers! Seriously, the hooks in my entry were one of the first things to go up on the wall. I don't want anyone (not mentioning names) in my household to have ANY reason to put coats and bags on the floor. They go on the hooks!

[so cheap, so easy]: Entry Hooks
This is one of my most resourceful projects. (You know I like people to think I'm resourceful, right?!) It is also very practical, which is not one of my strongest traits. We HAVE to have these hooks, especially in the winter. There is really no need for instructions. It's a piece of wood with hooks drilled to it. But the reason I think I'm so darn resourceful is because we already had the wood, AND it was already finished.
We bought a dresser a few years ago, and the company accidentally sent us two tops. They didn't want it back, so I just kept it--not knowing what I would ever do with it. Because I wanted this to be a cheap project, I chose hooks that were inexpensive, but I think it could be so much more interesting with oversized hooks or even hooks that are all different from each other. So, if you ever make this, make it more interesting than this one, mmkay?
