What's Your Favorite Color?

Is your favorite color in your home? Is this same color in your wardrobe? I thought about this last night when I ordered four new shirts: two white, one cream, and one mint. I'll be honest, the mint one was a stretch for me, and though I really like it, I ordered it, because I "need" more color in my wardrobe.  I know. I'm crazy like that, buying a mint shirt and all. Anyway, there's a point to this post...

This same thing happens all the time with design clients. They tell me that they really like certain colors, but that they "need" to use something different in the next room.  Here are my thoughts: You don't "need" to use different colors in every room. If you are drawn to certain colors, use those colors in your home. I love all of these rooms from the very colorful, to the pastel, to the neutral. But, I am definitely drawn to some more than others. Buy what you like, just because you like it, not because it's a certain color that you "need". I promise you, you'll like your house a lot better, because it will be more you. Plus, you won't end up painting a room yellow, and then covering it up with tan the very next day. I've heard that's kind of a bummer.  What's your favorite color?

[color kreyv]: Fuchsia

Okay, so I have a confession. I'm going to tell you, and you're not going to judge me. At least not out loud. Some of you may laugh, and some of you may roll your eyes. But, any of you who know me personally will most likely not be surprised. So here goes: on Sundays, I make sure that my family's outfits coordinate. Not anything too crazy and not matchy-matchy...just coordination. My sweet, sweet husband asks me if we are wearing brown or black since all of his slacks and shoes are either in the brown or black family, and we go from there. (I know. He should get a prize. He knows it's easier to ask first than to have to change.) If it matters, he does pick out his own ties. Except for last Sunday. It was a "black" day, and Stella was wearing her birthday dress, so I suggested that Mr. Hubs wear a pink tie. He asked me which one, so I tried to explain it. After a while, he said, "Oh, the fuchsia one?" I started laughing that he said the word fuchsia, but at the same time, I totally had a proud wife moment. Now, are you judging me or just thinking of how awesome fuchsia is? Either way, enter my giveaway: $50 Giveaway to ElemenOPillows. The shop has LOTS of pink fuchsia.

[color kreyv]: Navy & Pink

I've never been much of a pink kind of girl, with the exception of my neon anything phase during the fourth grade(i.e. shirt clips, bobbles for my hair, layers of socks--scrunched, of course, etc.). But that's different. You have to wear neon when you have crimped hair. That's a no-brainer. This pink, though, with this navy...come on. It's just beautiful. Like, totally.

[color kreyv]: Fuchsia

Geez. That has to be like the hardest color to spell. I seriously doubted the autocorrect, but that is really how you spell it. Hmmmm. Good to know. I love touches of fuchsia here and there. I don't have any here OR there...yet. But, I will soon be adding some Gallery Wall goodness to my home. Problem. Solved. (If, in fact, not having fuchsia in my house is a problem!)

Want in on the action? Don't forget to enter the Gallery Wall Giveaway. Sarah's watercolors are amaze-balls! (I'm currently watching Giuliana & Bill, so I couldn't resist using that word! Love her!) So, in summary: f-u-c-h-s-i-a is the correct spelling, you need it in your home, and you need to enter the giveaway, stat! Any questions?
