Facebook Design Team Member for Artbymiran

Yay! I got some wonderful news on Wednesday! Recently I shared how honored I was to be a guest designer for a challenge on the Artbymiran Facebook group. Well...I had also applied a few weeks ago to be a member of their design team (starting in January)...and guess what? I was one of the applicants that they chose! This is a huge deal for me. I'm so excited an honored to be joining a team of super talented women. Christmas came a little early for me.  Looking forward to coming up with some beautiful projects to share using artbymiran digital stamps. If you haven't checked out her Facebook page, I suggest you head on over. You can find it here. There are challenges to enter, and tons of gorgeous projects being shares.  So much talent in that group. Many thanks to Mi Ran Jung, and the other ladies for choosing me, and for giving me such a warm welcome.  I'm so excited to get to work!

Hubby Birthday Card

Good afternoon:)  Today I finished up my card for Betty's husband using her Hubby Bday Betty digi.  His favorite color is purple, so I made sure to incorporate that into my coloring and elements.

The Copic markers I used to color her are: skin - E000, E00, E04, E11, E21 and R20; hair - 100, BV20, BV25 and BV29; lips - RV52 and RV66; eyes - E11, E15 and E18; bow - V01, V06, V09 and V15; small present - RV52, V09 and V09 (bow); large present - BG34, BG49, and Cotton Candy Stickles for the bow.  For added shimmer, I used Atyou Spica #13 Lilac on her eyelids and eyelashes.

I just love the 'Fern Forest' line by Little Yellow Bicycle, and pulled papers from that for each of the layers on the card.  Like on my last card, I used the Joy! Crafts Oval die, and cut it in half for each side of the card.  A little bit of foam tape to 'pop' up the image and the sentiment, and viola...my card is complete!  I admit, it was a little challenging for me doing a card for a man, because I usually add a lot of ribbon, bling and flowers to the cards I make for girls.  I'll definitely be using this image again when my husband's birthday rolls around in August.

Facebook Guest Designer for Art by MiRan

Yay!  I was invited to be a Guest Designer on the Art by MiRan Facebook group.  I chose the gorgeous Olivia digi stamp which you can find here.  The challenge is an Anything Goes Challenge, and here is what I created...I hope  you like it!

The colors I used for this image are: skin - E000, E00, E04, E11, E21 and R20; hair - E13, E17, E19 and E29; eyes - G09, YG00, YG06 and YG09; dress - YR00, YR04 and YR07; belt - FV2; flower centers - Y17; flowers - V01, FV02 and R81, R85, R89.  I also used Atyou Spica glitter pen #13 Lilac on her eyelids and eyelashes.

For this card, I reached into my paper stash and pulled a few papers from the Bo Bunny 'Ambrosia' line.  I layered a few die cut pieces as a backing for the beautiful image. My newest die is the Joy! Crafts Oval die (I'm kind of obsessed with it), and for this card I cut it using the backside of Ambrosia Bouquet.  I then cut it in half, and used those for the pretty pieces on each end of the card.  The flowers in the corner and trim along the bottom were the finishing touches for this card. I'm very pleased at how she turned out.  Thank you for looking!

Artbymiran Uptown Girl

The last artbymiran Facebook challenge I entered, I was a top 3 winner. YAY!  With the win, I was able to choose an image, and I just couldn't resist 'Uptown Girl', which you can find here.  When I saw her, she reminded me of a winter's day, so I created a card with a snowy theme.

The colors I used for this image are: skin - E000, E00, E11, E21 and E04; hair - Y28, Y32, and YR31; skirt - Y21 and Y26; shirt - BG13 and BG49; jacket - B91, B95 and B97; belt - E17 and E18; leggings - E40 and E43; boots - W1, W3, W5, W7; scarf - E53, E57, E59 and BG49.

The paper is from an older Bo Bunny line, plus cardstock.  In the corner of the card, I added an acetate snowflake which I embossed in the cuttlebug.  A little bit of lace, and a couple of die cuts, and here she is.  Not a lot of elements to this card, and mostly from scraps I already had.  Just goes to show you that you can create a pretty layered card with things you are likely to have in your stash of leftovers.  I hope you like this one!  Thanks for looking.

Very Merry Betty Challenge

There's a new challenge going on with the Simply B Stamps Fan Group on Facebook!  You can find Very Merry Betty here. The challenge is to create a project with her using only Christmas green, Christmas red, white and black (skin tones are ok), and your project must have a bow. Don't wait too long though...the challenge ends on Sunday, November 9 at 6pm PST. Yay! My first Christmas card is done!

I colored the image with the following Copic colors: E000, E00, E04, E11 and E21 (skin); 100, E29, E25 and E21 (hair); 100, W9, W7, and W5 for pants, R29, G09 and G29 for gifts.  For the card, I used paper from the 'Mistletoe' line by Bo Bunny, black glitter paper from Best Creations, and vellum. I used dies from Spellbinders, and a Lucky 8 punch from We R Memory Keepers.

Sweetie Sonia from Artbymiran

Here's a cute card I made using the image Sweetie Sonia from artbymiran.  I am quickly becoming addicted her images!  They're so lovely, and she has a great variety of images!  I've had some papers from Basic Grey's Konnichiwa line from a few years ago, and FINALLY found the perfect use. As soon as I saw her, I knew I'd be using it!

I forgot to keep track of all of the Copic colors I used, but here's what I know...for skin I used E000, E00, E04, E11 and E21; hair was BV20, BV25 and BV29; dress was R11, R32 and R35; jacket was G000, BG09 and BG57; shoes were W7, W5 and W3.
In addition to the paper, I used brown lace, and die cuts from Spellbinders (lacey squares, labels seventeen), La La Land Crafts Berry Flourish and Tim Holtz Caged Bird.  I cut the bird cage twice, and used foam adhesive to give the cage dimension with the bird inside it. Thanks for looking:)

Artbymiran Winter Challenge

Here's card for the Artbymiran Winter Challenge on facebook.  I colored the adorable Elfie Elizabeth for this one.  When I was rooting through my stash of paper, I found some of the 'Snow Day' collection from Crate Paper (from a couple of years ago).  Not traditional winter/holiday colors, but a super bright and fun line.  I decided to color her in similar colors.  It's funny, I was going to toss her once I had her done, because I wasn't so sure of how the colors looked, but the kiddos all loved it, so I went ahead and made the card.  Looking at the completed project, I actually think it came out quite nice!

I used the skin colors I use on most projects: E000, E00, E11, E21 and E04.  For her hair I went bright with RV69, RV66 and RV52.  Her dress was colored with G000, BG13 and BG49.  Her shoes were done with C3, C5 and C7.  I added a little bit of sparkle with stickles on her hat and dress.

I hope you like her!  I think I'll send this one to my daughter (usually I just hand them to her, so she'll be quite surprised if it shows up in the mail;).  I'm off to finish another image by Artbymiran...

Here is my latest entry for the artbymiran Anything Goes challenge. I couldn't resist the Missy Chic image.  Her hair is gorgeous!  So much fun to color:)

I used Copic markers to color the digital image. For skin I used E000, E00, E11, E21 and E04.  I colored her hair with E29, E25 and E21.  Her dress is colored with R56, R59 and R81, and her shoes with W5 and W3.  The card is made with papers from the Carpe Diem line by Glitz. A little but of lace, vellum butterflies - I use Martha Stewart's large monarch butterfly punch), and the wood frame is from Michael's.  I hope you like her!

Demonic Babe Project

My latest project for a challenge on Simply B Stamps Fan Group on Facebook is this Demonic Babe card.  The challenge was to create a project using either a Good Demon and bright colors, or a Bad Demon and dark colors.  I decided to take a stab at the Good Demon, though I think I'll make a Bad one too sometime soon. If you know me, you might know that I am twin, and my sister often referred to herself as the 'evil' twin growing up (I guess I was the good one by default! lol). I think it's only appropriate that I send her the Bad Demon once I'm done:)

If you missed out on the freebie, you can still purchase the Demonic Babe digi on Simply Betty's website.  I also highly encourage you to join her Simply B Stamps Fan Group on Facebook if you haven't already. The group has lots of fun challenges, tons of inspiration, and info on the newest stamps. I find myself on that page just about every day!

I used copics to color the Demonic Babe.  For her skin I used E000, E00, E11, E21, and E04.  I used E15, E18, Y21 and YR23 to color her hair.  The horns were colored with R37, R32 and R00, and her shirt was colored with BG57, BG72 and G000.  The card was made with paper from the #Summer line from American Crafts, a doily, angel wings (La-La Land Crafts die) , and a strip of pink ribbon at the bottom.  I hope you like her!

Day of the Deal Alex Challenge

Are you a member of the Kit and Clowder group on Facebook? If not, you can find it here, and join. The page is full of inspiration! That is also where I entered the Day of the Dead Alex challenge. The image was free to members of Kit and Clowder and Simply B Stamps Fan Group (find them here) on facebook. The challenge was to color her using a monochromatic color scheme (all colors from the same color family), plus a pop of color.  My first attempt at monochromatic coloring!  It was lots of fun, but a challenge for sure. If you missed the challenge, the image can be found here on the Simply Betty Stamps website.

For her skin and clothing I used V93, V95 and V99. For her skin I used V000, V22 and V28.  My pop of color was on her face using YG45 and YG03.

I hope you like her!  I'm off to work on another challenge from the Simply B Stamp Fan Group.  Look for that post in the next day or so:)

Sweet & Sassy

Hi everyone! Aaahhhh....my first blog post! I've been wanting to start a blog for my cards (and hopefully other crafty things I create along the way). I've been scrapbooking longer than I've been making cards, but over the last few years my love (and addiction) to Copics and Digital Stamps has grown.

I recently entered a card I made in a Facebook challenge with Artbymiran, and won a top 3 spot! Yay! First time I've won a challenge with one of my creations. Ok, so I've only entered 2, but...YAY! Here's the card:

The image is Sweet and Sassy by Artbymiran. You can find her here Digi Stamp-Sweet & Sassy. I colored her with Copic markers, and used some paper from my stash. I'm addicted to Tim Holtz dies (flourish), and use doilies a lot in my cards. Thanks for checking her out!
