Little Things

Happy Monday. Well fall did blow in on Thursday and the weather has been refreshingly cool. Something about being able to put on a sweater makes me happy. Thankful for these little things.

Today we start a new sketch challenge at Inky Paws. I decided to turn the sketch on it's head, being as I am partial to vertical cards.

Today's card uses lots of fun product from Newton's Nook. "Paw-tumn Newton", "falling leaves" stencil, and "fancy edges tag" die set,

I am not really familiar with this group- One Direction, but their song "Little Things" is just so sweet.

You have two weeks to play along at our sketch challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday October 7, 2022 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at  Inky Paws.

Seven things I am grateful for

1. I am grateful for my family and being able to see them in person. A year and a half is way to long to go without hugging your loved ones!

2. I am grateful for my friends and my crafting tribe. You all always make me laugh.

3. I am grateful for the new kittens. Petey and Pixie are the best fun and not a day goes by that I am not laughing at their antics.

4. I am grateful that I do not have to work and the fact that I have to look at my watch to see what day of the week it is.

5. I am grateful for my art and my crafting and that I get to enjoy it everyday.

6.  I am grateful for my health, a good night's sleep, and 10,000 steps a day.

7. Lastly and most importantly, I am grateful for my dear husband George, who has been my biggest support through out a tumultuous year.

 Wishing everyone a blessed Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving bounty

Happy November everyone! It is the start of the trifecta holiday season, starting with Thanksgiving. It is also the start of another challenge at The Rainbow Card Connection. The theme this month is "magically metallic". So get your metal on and create a card using metallic colors.

I chose a Thanksgiving theme for this months card. I dug out my perfect pearls from Ranger to create my metallic fall leaves and foliage. I used the Gina K "Autumn Wreath Builder "set and Reverse Confetti's 'Give thanks" (no longer available :().

I was a bit perplexed about what my music inspiration would be for this month. Magical metallics is a tough one to find a song for. I am going for a song about some very special metals, that will start putting you in the holiday spirit. It is from one of my most favorite holiday shows. Let me know if you recognize it.

Be sure to head over to The Rainbow Card Challenge , see what the other DT members came up with and join the fun. You have all month to play in our "magically metallic" challenge.

Thankful for you

Happy Labor Day all!! The summer is officially over. That means fall is upon us. It means the leaves will change, the air is cooling down, the days are getting shorter, and pumpkin spice everything is available.

Today is also the reminder week for our sketch challenge at Inky Paws. I think this is an awesome sketch. There is so much you can do with it. I am hoping more of you will play along this week.

I had to use "Thankful Thoughts", "Harvest Tails", and Frames and Flags die set, all from Newton's Nook. I used an actual piece of balsa wood for the base for my fox. Balsa wood is great to die cut, but you have to get a super thin piece.

Head on over to Inky Paws and join in our scenic looking sketch challenge. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is this Friday, September 6, 2019 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Thankful

Welcome to November everyone. The month that kicks off the holiday season with Thanksgiving being three weeks away. I have much to be thankful for this holiday. The most important being thankful to be finally finished school. It has been a long eight years, between my BSN and now my MSN. I am also thankful that I will have the luxury of time- time to stamp and create. That is what makes me happy and keeps me sane.

There is still time to play along at Inky Paws. The challenge is to use twine or burlap. I used twine last week and this week I am using burlap. I had one little piece, so I had to be very careful that I didntscrew up my card. There's another thing to be thankful for. 😃

My card this week uses the "shades of autumn" set from Newton's Nook and the sentiment is from the "autumn Newton" set.

Head on over to Inky Paws and join in this fun theme challenge. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is Friday November 9, 2018, at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.
