Daisies

Happy Day Folks! It's been 6 months since I quit my job and I am still livin' the dream. The other night I was watching TV at 9pm ) I used to go to bed at 7:30!!)  and I looked over at my hubby and said Thanks George! he looked at me and said "for what?" I said for my life!! If wasn't for him pushing for me to quit my job, I would still be working. Bless his heart!

Today is a reminder week that you have one more week to play along with our sketch challenge at Inky Paws

Today I flipped the sketch on it's head. I am partial to vertical cards.  My card features "Dainty Daisies" and the "Bold Bloom" stencil from Newton's Nook. I shaded the cards with a graphite pencil. A trick I have learned from my Zentangling.

Today's music inspiration is from Katy Perry- Daisies

You have one more week to show us your sketch at Inky Paws. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday March 11, 2021 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at  Inky Paws.

Where have all the flowers gone...

I am writing this blog on Sunday night, and we are expecting some sort of winter storm. Much to my dismay, I sounds as though it will be a mostly rain event. I am looking forward to some massive snow storms, now that I do not have to go to work.

Winter leads to spring which leads to blooming flowers. I am channeling spring for my card for the new sketch challenge at Inky Paws.

My card features "Blooming Botanicals" and "Floral Roundabout" from Newton's Nook

In keeping with my New Year goal of stamping the inside of my card when I make it, here is look at the inside of my card.

Your musical inspiration is from Peter, Paul and Mary: "Where have all the flowers gone?" (They are all on my card!)

You have two weeks to play along with our sketch challenge at Inky Paws. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

Snow Much

Happy New Year  everyone! Here's to 2022 being an improvement over 2021! I don't know about you all, but every year after the holidays I find myself in a crafting rut. The holidays just suck the creativity out of me. It takes a few weeks to get my mojo back.

Today starts the first challenge for 2022 at Inky Paws. This is a great color challenge, guaranteed to help you get your mojo back! We are looking for you to use candy red, white, brown, and grey in your creations.

My card today uses the "Snowman Roundabout" stamp set and the Plaid stencil set,  both from Newton's Nook. Don't the challenge colors work perfectly with this stamp set and stencil?

How about some musical inspiration to start out the new year right.

"This will Be Our Year" by the Zombies

I hope you all play along with our first challenge for 2022 at Inky Paws. You have two weeks to play along. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Plum thank you

It's September 1,  summer is pretty much over. The kids are back in school, the leaves are starting to change, and Starbucks is selling pumpkin spice everything again. Fall is on it's way.

But the first of the month means a new color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. We are looking for cards that are "purely plum". That gorgeous reddish purplely color.

My card could not be more simple. A stencil and a sentiment and you have a great thank you card for someone of the male persuasion.

There really aren't any songs with the color plum in them, so I went with a fall themed song to inspire your creativity. I hope you enjoy the "Leaves that are Green" by Simon and Garfunkle.

You have the month of September to play along with our plum color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge.

Let's hear it for the ladies!

Wow this is a bit unusual for me. And I gotta admit I was a stumped by this challenge at CAS on Friday.

Today starts a new challenge at  CAS on Friday. We are asking you top put a

LADYBUG

on it. I searched my stamps till I came across this set from Hero Arts that had a ladybug in the set. Instead of just a red ladybugs, I made a rainbow of LBs.

I really can't wait to see what you all create for out "ladybug" challenge at CAS on Friday!

HEARTfelt thanks

The roses are in full bloom around the neighborhood and while I am not a huge fan of roses I do love a yellow rose. Did you know that a yellow rose signifies friendship?

Yellow Roses

Yellow roses are a symbol of friendship and caring. Never send yellow roses to someone you are romantically interested in, as this suggests you would prefer to stay in the friend zone. In fact, yellow roses are one of the only roses that have no romantic meaning behind them.

Sending yellow roses to a friend is a lighthearted and kind way to show them you were thinking of them. It speaks towards optimism and is not likely to be mistaken as a romantic advance should you send them to a co-worker or friend.

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws?

A clever sketch challenge for you all.

Today's card uses the following stamps and dies from Newton's Nook, "Heartfelt Roses", "Roses" and heart  frame dies.

Let's see how our sketch inspires you! Come and join our challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

Thanks a million

Good morning everyone. Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws. This one is a good one because it one can never have enough of this type of card on hand.

Thank you cards. That's it.... nothing fancy.... just a well crafted thank you... for that something that someone did.

My card today features "Dainty Daisies" from Newton's Nook. I took the stamp and just stamped and gold embossed it around the scalloped circle die from Newton's Nook. Lately I have been using my Zig clean color brush markers to color the daisies. I love how the colors blend together and their vibrancy. The saying is from "Thankful Thoughts" also by Newton's Nook.
