Blue Botanicals take two

Happy Monday folks! What a rainy weekend we have had here in southeast Pa. But it was perfect to hunker down and craft, cook and binge watch shows. What are you all binge watching? The husband and I just starting "The Wire". I know that was on years ago, but I haven't seen it.

You still have one more week to play along with us at our "one layer" card challenge at Inky Paws. I have noticed that some folks who joined in have had more than one layer. One layer means just that. One piece of folded card stock. I know it is a challenge. I just love to pop things up!! If I can do it, so can you!!

I decided to go with a similarly colored schemed card from last weeks card.  My card features the "Floral Roundabout" from Newton's Nook. Again I added some texture (to replace the pop ups) by scoring lines on my card stock. Just like in food preparation, texture adds that extra something to a creation.

Now for your musical inspiration.

I couldn't help myself. So appropriate.

You have one more week to only use one sheet of card stock at Inky Paws. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday June 17, 2022 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at  Inky Paws.

Seas the day

Good morning everyone! Hope you are doing well and spending lots of time crafting! I have been a crafting fool since I quit my job.

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws. Today we have an interesting sketch. I cannot wait to see how all of you interpret this sketch. I gotta say this one was tough for me and I went quite literally.

My card today features the "Seashell Roundabout" from Newton's Nook.  I kept my card very CAS and lots of pristine white space.

Musical inspiration is from Mr. Bobby Darin. This song is a favorite of mine!

You have two weeks to get a share your sketch with us at Inky Paws. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday April 22, 2021 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at  Inky Paws.

Pinkfresh monthly challenge

Pinkfresh Studio is my new fav stamp company. I love all the botanical images that have corresponding dies and stencils. There are so many ways to use them.

I have collected a few over the last year, enough that I decided to join this month's challenge.

The challenges are theme and color based. You can do one or the other or both. the theme is leaves and greenery.

My card features "Folk Garden". I used the stamp, stencil, and die. To create some interest I dry embossed the die for the background on my card.

You have all month to play along at Pinkfresh's monthly challenge. Maybe I will see you there!

Hummingbirds

Happy Monday! Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws. The challenge is a fun beachy color scheme.

We would like you to use teal, yellow, white and green in your creations.

My card today uses the Hummingbird stamp set from Newton's Nook and the basket weave stencil also from NN. Have you ever seen a hummingbird. I love bird watching but have only seen a few over the years. It is quite a treat when I do come across one.

Come and join our theme of beachy color challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

So long, farewell

Today is sad day. Life has gotten very busy and I have had to cut back on my DT commitments. Everyone who knows me, knows that CAS is my go to style of stamping, so it is with great sadness that I have to leave CAS on Friday. This is my last posting.

My last challenge is one that I am hosting. My theme for this challenge is :

TINY IMAGES

Do you know what I am talking about? I am thinking those small stamps that are filler with the other larger stamps in a stamp set. Or just any tiny stamps.

A perfect way to use little stamps is to create stenciled windows and scatter those tiny stamps across the stenciled areas and add a sentiment. This creates a quick, easy, clean and simple card.

I am posting this video to say "So long, farewell" to all my teamies at CAS on Friday. You are all an amazing group of artists!

You have two weeks to use those tiny little stamps that have not felt any inky love and share them with us at CAS on Friday!

Sweet treats

Who doesn't like a sweet treat during the holidays. I love hard candy, that you can either suck it until it is completely dissolved or you can go all in and crunch it up immediately till it's gone. Which one are you? I am a sucker myself!!

Today starts a new challenge at Christmas 24. Today's theme is "sweet treats". What's your favorite Christmas sweet treat?

Today's card features the "Merry Shapes" stamp set from Concord&9th. Good news this stamp set is on sale at Concord&9th for $5.40. This is 70% off the original price!

You have two weeks to sweeten things up at Christmas 24!

Prickly hugs

How many of you have stamp sets that you have never shown any inky love to? I am thinking you might have had them for a year or two!! I try to use all my stamps right away- at least just to make sure they stamp OK and all. But this poor set from Ellen Hutson has been tucked away and I forgot about it until I was going through stamp sets. Well, this unacceptable!! I pulled it out and I knew I had to use it for the new color challenge we are hosting at Cupcake Inspiration.

Show us your blue, lime, and yellow creations!

Everyday Doodles also comes with this fun sentiment set.

Cupcake Inspiration has a fabulous sponsor for this challenge.

They are giving the lucky winner a prize of 2 Digital Stamps of the winners choice!

Check out our sponsor and show them some love. You have two weeks to use a stamp from our sponsor Di's Digi Stamps or find out a never used stamp set and show it some inky love with our challenge colors, blue, lime, and yellow at Cupcake Inspirations!!

Sunny wishes

We have been in some hot hazy days in south eastern Pennsylvania, but it's nothing compared to the northwest. Record highs, the sun is making it's presence known.

Which is a nice lead in to our new challenge at CAS on Friday. Our theme is :

SUNSHINE

My challenge card uses two stencils, a four window stencil and a sun stencil, to create my quartet of ombred suns.

How about a little musical inspiration?

You have two weeks to get sunny at CAS on Friday!
