Since it is the first of the month, we have a new color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. A perfect color for Thanksgiving- stunningly sage. Not only a great color but the perfect addition top your Thanksgiving meal.

My card today features a new stamp from Penny Black-"Pumpkin Stack".  I love how you can be so creative with coloring pumpkins. I have so many different colored pumpkins this year.

My video inspiration comes from Simon and Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair.

Blue-green or greenish-blue

August 1! Holy moly- the summer is almost over! Have to say, it has been such a brutally hot summer that a little fall would be nice. Next thing ya know I will be complaining about how cold it is!!

Since it is the first of the month, that means a new color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge! This month's color is:

Teal- such a difficult color, Blue-green, greenish-blue, not my favorite color, but always fun to get out of your color comfort zone and try something new.

I have been so totally going broke on Pinkfresh Studio's stamp, stencil and die combos. Today's card features "Folk Garden". I used the matching stencil set to add the color and die cut the whole thing. All so very easy peasy.

So if you are struggling with the summer heat, here is a little something, something to keep you sweating!

You have all month to show me your blue-green or greenish blue teal cards. Stay cool crafters!

Outside the lines

I loved, I mean I LOVED coloring books as a kid. Still do actually- I have a few of those "adult" coloring books. Any way, I would save my allowance to go down to the five and dime to buy them. I would stand in front of the rack and just take my time picking out the perfect one. I would bring it home, pull out my crayons- of course I had the biggest set with the built in sharpener and I would carefully start to color in the images. Now there it is- I carefully colored in- I NEVER colored outside the lines. I have to admit, I still find it hard to color outside the lines, on paper and in life.

Today's card is reminder to me to not take life so seriously and :color outside the lines".

Since it is the first of the month, it is time for a new challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. This month's color is "cherry" That bright vibrant red.

This month I am bringing back the musical inspiration!

Cherry Cherry by the incomparable Neil Diamond!

You have one month to to put a cherry on top and join us at The Rainbow Card Challenge to show us your best cherry cards!

Violet vs. Purple

Violet hippos under a violet sun?!!? Who knew. But they sure look like they are having fun huh? The question is will we be able to frolic at the beach this summer? My brother has a place at the beach and the plan was for me to spend the week there in July. That's all up in the air right now. Fingers crossed!!

May 1 means a new color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge.  This month's color is violet.

This month at The Rainbow Card Challenge, we are asking you to create a monochromatic card using violet. I know the question you are thing is "What is the difference between purple and violet?" Well here is a short video to answer this very question.

I guess that answers the question, huh?

Those adorable hippos are from Clearly Besotted- "Seasonal Lineup". This set has a lot of fun images.

This month's musical inspiration is from an Irish Band- Blackmore's Night. The song is "Under a Violet Moon"

Sympathy for the world

Happy April! I usually come up with a good fool's joke, but no one really feels like joking now. I think we all just want the world to return to normal. But what will our new normal look like? I am a hugger, I shake hands to determine someone's merit during a job interview. Will I be able to return to that? Or will we always maintain a certain distance socially as well as emotionally?

When I made this card, the world hadn't gone topsy-turvey. Posting it now is like sending a sympathy card for all of us. We all have suffered some kind of loss with this madness. A loss as even as simple as not being able to hug some one in need.

Today is a new challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. The color this month is tiffany. That lovely soothing blue-green, aqua type color. It s a peaceful color, perfect for a sympathy card.

My very clean and simple card uses the "mum flower frame" from Simon Says Stamp. I added the banner sentiment and a few Neuvo Drops and this card was complete.

I hope this month's music inspiration has you chuckling like I was. There are really no songs with "tiffany" in the title, but I did come across this one. It's all about Tiffany!

Christmas 24 Challenge

Hey everyone! Is it still OK to be posting holiday cards? I mean Christmas and New Year's is behind  us. Well, it's OK when you are participating at a new Christmas card challenge called Christmas 24. A card challenge that is all things Christmas.

I can not think of a better way to jump start next years cards then by making them all year long. Christmas 24 is also holding a DT call. I am throwing my hat into that ring as well.

This card exemplifies my CAS style. Because it is monochromatic, you can make this card in any color. Green is my favorite color, but I also tried it in pink- my buddy Margarita's fav color. I can hear her saying- "Pink! It is the most beautiful color in the world!"

The trees are from Neat and Tangled- Scandinavian Prints. I also used the new masking stencil set from Taylored Expressions.

Head over to Christmas 24 and get a jump start on next year's cards and share what you created.

Stamp it black

October!! Holy Bats!!! Where has the time gone? Just a few weeks ago I was at the beach. Now Halloween is just around the corner, with Thanksgiving and Christmas soon to follow.

October 1 means a new color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. This month's color is "brazenly black". Black is a tough one and this month is sure to challenge us all. But hey the fact that it is Halloween- that should make it easier for all of you. I went in a completely different direction and I tried to make a "cute" card using all black.

I die cut the happy birthday using black glitter paper to create the contrast I needed for all the black on this card. The die cut was from an online company called Wish. See this post if you want to know about Wish. The stamps were from Mama Elephant. "Up and Away" and "The Birthday Bash". I colored the images with copics using the darker shades of grey.

This month's music inspiration is the Rolling Stones "Paint it Black"

Did I inspire you or did the Rolling Stones get your black on?

Be sure to head over to The Rainbow Card Challenge , see what the other DT members came up with and join the fun. You have all month to play in our "brazenly black" challenge.

Blue birthday fishes

When you think of July- I think of July 4th, and of course my birthday, but I also think of hot sunny days at the beach, sunning and swimming. Not sure if I would want to run into these guys while jumping waves!

This month's color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge is blue. Blue is a good one. Blue seems to go with just about every other color in the rainbow, but this month we want you to showcase blue.
This really should be a no brainer, so I hope to see lots of participation. Who doesn't like blue.

I have had these funny little fish for years, but rarely used them because I didn't have those "fishy" sentiments to go with them. Waffle Flower came out with the perfect set and these snappy fishes have been getting a work out!

Today's music inspiration was tough. There are lots of great songs with the color blue in them. I went with an old fav. Blue Moon. Blue Moon has been done by lots of folks, but today I am featuring the Marcels version.

Join us at The Rainbow Card Challenge for this blue challenge!! You have the month of July to create your most awesome blue cards!!

Monster rock

Happy May Day everyone!! Yay!! I think we can finally put winter behind us and enjoy spring and the summer to come. May means my anniversary to the big guy- 32 years this year! He loves music and I love green! So I had to put them together for an anniversary card.

That's why I was so happy the color this month at The Rainbow Card Challenge is green! The most beautiful color in the world.

I have a very cute little set of monsters called Rock Monster from Mama Elephant for Hampton Arts.

I grabbed a bunch of music related stamps and went to town.

I even stamped the inside of the card, something I rarely do. I am usually scrambling to stamp a sentiment at the last minute. hey that's a good question. How many of you plan the inside of your card when you are creating it? Or are you like me- last minute Nellie.

Now for this month's musical inspiration- Simon and Garfunkle's Leaves that are Green.

Remember- the beauty of the monochromatic card is you can easily switch up the colors. this card can easily be done in any color of the rainbow.

Join us at The Rainbow Card Challenge for this best color ever challenge of green!! You have the month of May to create a gorgeous green cards!!
