Squash Book

Hello Crafty Friends!!

My daughter requested me to make a birthday card for her class teacher. This was on behalf of the

entire class of 25. Her basic requirement was a very simple card, so that the boys too can appreciate it & with ample space for all to write a line or two.
After much deliberation, I decided to make a very simple squash book.

I love textures & this handmade paper with a chevron texture is my favorite.

Some clicks of the inside of the card -

Hope the class & the teacher like my first attempt at making a squash book & so do you friends!!

Thank you so much for visiting & taking the time to visit my blog. I love to hear from you & truly appreciate your feedback. Have a crafty day!!

An Altered Chocolate Box

Hello peeps!!
A second post from me today with a project for my first time entry to LESSology Challenge#24. The challenge involves creating a cover & I chose to alter this Lindt Chocolate box for this.

This is the outcome of  embellishing the lid after covering it with a polka dotted handmade paper. I loved the combination of washi tape, pearls & distressing along the edges...............................& don't miss the cute ladybird crawling on the box!!!

This is the lid & the base of the box.

Guest Designing for Homyachuk Scrap Challenge

Morning friends!!
Sharing another Guest Designer post I did this month. This one is for a Russian Challenge - Homyachuk Scrap Challenge I won for the doodled card.
The theme this month is to create a Spring Notebook incorporating the following elements - the color green, a bird/butterfly & a flower.
Here's a look at what I made - a green handmade cover layered with a parchment paper stamped, scrunched & distress with vintage ink. Spritzed the paper & while moist I rolled the edges to give it a vintage feel............I loved this, what do you think??

Here's a snapshot of the distressed (barn door) doily  & the blooms, aren't they gorgeous??

The bow at the spine with a cute little butterfly charm.

Also used some chipboard laser cuts from Itsy Bitsy as you see here. The medallion was stamped, heat embossed in white & distressed (barn door & peeled paint).

Enjoyed using so many colors, techniques & cute embellishments in this project.............hope you all like it as much as I did making it. :-).

Handmade Calendar 2013

Hi all,
Am ready to share with you the calendar I made for this month's ICRC25 - New Year (2013) Calendar + Recycle/Upcycle Something.
I have recycled an envelope to create a hanging calendar with the look of a handbag!!
How???…..you will soon see!!!!

This was the envelope used

Changed its appearance by adding handmade paper & chipboard die cut (Itsy Bitsy)

The front - look of a handbag

The other side - a calendar

Each month page can be mounted at a time in the adhesive photo corners. Have also provided a small clip to hold mini to do notes/reminders.

The pocket behind can hold the pages for the remaining months....................

I enjoyed using so many PP & handmade papers in a single project. Have a insatiable weakness for handmade papers............……the colors & textures are just so appealing......................hope you noticed the embossed handmade paper used in the handbag.

All the colorful months -

A closer look at some embellishments

Thanks for taking the time to visit & do let me what you think about this calendar.
Have a wonderful day.
