Doily effect on Chopping board

Hello Friends & welcome here!
I am sorry, though I have been neglecting my blog 😒 I am creating loads of projects especially decoupage & share them regularly on my facebook page & Instagram, feel free to follow me there for regular updates!
Today’s project is a chopping board wall décor piece that also serves as a post it holder.
A simple technique to add some drama to a project is to combine a shabby chic print with bright chalk paints. For this base I used papers some shabby prints.
Using a large doily as a stencil, I created a pattern on the decoupaged paper with chalk paint.
I loved the contrasting colors of the the paper & paints. To add some more texture, I have also used 1 step crackle medium on the board around the doily stencil.
Some random newsprint stamping with archival ink, further built on layers to this project.

Decoupage Bottle featuring Decopatch Papers by Bob N Betty

Hello crafty souls, back with my love – DECOUPAGE & DECOPATCH PAPERS.
These papers are very thin & blend easily into the background to give a seamless finish. I wanted to use these papers on a curved surface like a bottle. The papers are 50gsm, just perfect for use on such surfaces too. I fussy cut the gorgeous lady (Floral Adornments) & decoupaged her over on the BIRDS & BUTTERFLIES background paper. Do you see how easily she blends over the background!

For some dimension I covered the lady with glossy accents & the glass like look was hard to capture on camera.

I covered the neck of the bottle with crackle paste & once dry rubbed metallique wax paste for a subtle metallic sheen.

Added some dangling resin embellishments too –

Decoupage - Desk Organizer

Happy Monday friends! I am at the Letz CRaft Blog today working with a desk organizer from Papericious, that can along in my DT kit.

To begin I first primed the base with gesso -

Once dry, I painted it with white acrylic paint & let it dry. A popular decoupage technique for shabby chic project is to use doily, I love that effect but wanted to experiment with vibrant colors. I decided on the layout & with masking tape glued the doilies as desired.

Next I painted over with red acrylic paint -

I selected a gorgeous rice paper from Stamperia & tore the motifs I wanted to use -

Once the paint dried, lift the doilies & you have the most gorgeous doily pattern on the base, almost as if glued there.

Next I glued (Mod Podge) the rice paper roses on the stenciled doily.
I wanted to tone down the bright red & add a dash of another color in the background & what better way than adding crackle texture. For this I used Decorate 2 step crackle medium  & highlighted the cracks with Finnabair wax paste.
Here is the final outcome, love how easily the cracks complement the rice paper -

I also have a coordinating bookmark, here I have used Folkart 1 step crackle medium -

Some close ups -

We also have a crazy sale upto July 3rd, 2018.......go shop!

Decoupage Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Friends!
I am loving the new range of Bob N Betty decopatch papers - very high quality 50gsm papers, a dream for all decoupage artists. You can check my previous posts with this awesome release here & here.

These papers are very thin & blend easily into the background to give a seamless finish, they truly do! Check the canvas I share today -

Stay with me as I take you through the steps to combine decoupage & mixed media to create unique wall decor for your homes.
The USP of these papers is the ease with which you can use them on surfaces, just like rice papers & tissues. To highlight this I started by creating a textured base for the 12x12 canvas.

Next I fussy cut a section (OLD WORLD CHARM sheet) & also some elements from the FLORAL ADORNMENTS sheet. I decided on the layout & decoupaged them on the textured canvas.

Here is a close up to show how easily it blends on the textured background.

Next I colored the canvas with coordinating chalk paints.

Some random stencilling & stamping over the textures -

To add some more textures I stenciled clear crackle paste on the edges & added some paste with the palette knife too.

To finish the canvas I splattered acrylic paint.  The Crackle paste dries clear over the textures to reveal the background through. the cracks, perfect for the image I selected! Spray with acrylic varnish to seal the canvas.

You can grab these papers from any of our Sales Buddies   &  share your gorgeous creations using Bob n Betty papers with us on our facebook group Bob n Betty Buddies.

Decoupage Name Plate

Hello Friends!
Sharing today a name plate I recently commissioned. This is a hanging name plate perfect for an apartment/house or villa. I particularly love this design since there's so much opportunity to play around with techniques - different looks on the same name board.

On this side is a bright floral finish with lots of blending & stenciling.

A stencil design very similar to the tissue background made it so easy to bring it all together.

On the other side is a vintage design in contrast to the brights on the other.

This is a close up of the shimmery first names of the Rabadi family against the vintage crackle background.

For the intricate pattern of the hanging frame I tried a faux wrought iron look

Decoupage ideas with Craftreat Stencils

Hello Everyone!
I am delighted to be Guest Designing for the Craftreat Blog today with some decoupage inspiration using the Craftreat stencils.
I am in love with the designs, very well thought of & planned, the Indian designs are just in time for the festive season. I had loads of fun playing around with them & hope I tempt you to grab these designs too.
This is a picture heavy post, I have not 1 or 2 but 7 projects to share 😊

First I have a set of coasters using my favorite Indian themed design - Mandala

Next is a decorative magnetic chopping board in which I have stencilled the mandala to give a gradient look.

Here is a closer look, gorgeous isn't it?

The Indian motifs stencil was just perfect for this shabby mirror. In this I have used texture paste.

A close up of the stencilling, do you see the perfect design?

The Buddha stencil is my absolute favorite. Once again I used it with texture paste & the design imprint is flawless.

To pop the Buddha design I used inkagold over the stencilling, this just pops the image, adding some more dimension.

For this decoupage wallet I have used Damask Background..

This is such a versatile design, the stencilling blends so well with the tissue.

Priya also sent me some bangles & pendants for decoupage. I went with the traditional rice paper decoupage techniques & colors on them, the result a very shabby bangle & pendant with some fantastic crackle texture.

Hope you are inspired to grab some of these!
You can buy all the stencils here.
Thank you for stopping by!
