Glitter-Fly

A very good morning to you all!

Sharing the tutorial I did for Color Conceptions Challenge Blog as a DT.

Let me take you through the pictorial to make flower stamens with glitter.
Gather your supplies - Glue gun, glue stick, floral stems, loose glitter.

Once the glue gun is ready to use evenly spread the glue on the tips of the floral stem.

Quickly dip this into the glitter & viola your stamen is ready! Easy, didn't I tell you?

I used all the glitter colors I had & used these to make calla lilies which I'll show you in a bit.

Another quick & easy glitter technique to add dimension to your embellishment.
I first die cut  a MB pippi butterfly in the corner of a CS (will be used later) to create a negative space. Then the CS was embossed & distressed with a blend of these colors squeezed lemonade, peeled paint & salty ocean. After which I stamped a script over it (hope you can see it!) with distress paint (picket fence)

Next glue a cellophane tape on the backside as shown here,

Now sprinkle some glitter over & spread it evenly into negative of the die cut & tap off the excess. This is what it will look like -

I also die cut the same butterfly in acetate & used the Wink of Stella clear brush marker to add a bit of shimmer to it. The die cut was distressed & both these were layered over the glitter one. This really looks fantastic in real with the glitter peeking from under the butterfly.

Here is the finished card...........hope you like the handmade calla lilies too!

The next is a very cute one & I think this is my first at using an animal stamp (Itsy Bitsy) on a card.  This is totally inspired by my dear friend Neha Bhatt! Hope she likes it. Stamped & popped the red sheep to make it special!

The minute I saw this cute inpiration pic at Inkspirational #52 I knew I had to ink that stamp.

Creative Colors Challenge #6

Hello Friends....................its time for another challenge at Creative Colors & this time Archana has selected a rather bold color combo - Fuschia + Yellow Gold + Royal Blue PLUS use Die-Cuts.

This is a cards-only challenge & it was rather difficult to make a card with these colors, but who wants to give up!! Here is what I came up with -

The cute digi is by the sponsors Bugaboo Digi Stamps which I have colored with distress inks.

This is a double pocket card having these two tags.

Created many layers on the tags with stencils & stamps.

Do hop over to the challenge blog for more inspiration by my teamies. We also have a second sponsor this time - SuhaFuha so move on to the blog for details.

A GIFT BOX

Good Evening & a happy weekend to you all!
Very pleased to share a upcycled project today, made keeping in mind a few challenges. Take a look at this gorgeous gift box...........

I find myself creating only in monochromes these days (hope I get over it soon!). Any guesses what is recycled here? Well I leave you with the snapshots first & will reveal it only later, am sure you can guess by then. I love stick pins & in this one I have a cute birdie perched atop the pin.

The crochet flower is handmade by my mom, she made many while she was here.

The sides are chipboard pieces distressed with stormy sky ink & layered with die cuts. Glued  embellished wooden clothes pins on both the sides. This one holds a mini Bo Bunny envelope from the Noteworthy collection. Isn't it perfect to hold a cute little message for the recipient?

Making the closure for this was the toughest part! I think now that it is open you all know what this is!

Yes it was a pringles can, inspired by a pin on pinterest. This is how I went about with the upcycling

Acetate Card

Good Morning.............it is so wonderful to have you visit here again.

Catchy Challenges is back with a new transformed look, lots of inspiration & a new name - CSCC - Create Something Catchy Challenge. Hop over to the blog here for deets & don't miss the new fun batches! For this months challenge Deepti has challenge us to create a card inspired by this picture -

This is my card -

I loved the challenge colors & the pattern paper (layered over black card stock) is so close to the colors in the picture. The front of the card is acetate & the washi tape border & the intricate die cut were enough to decorate the panel. The sentiment is glued to the inside of the card.
