Since 4th of July is right around the corner our talented DT sister had issued the challenge of making any project with the Patriotic theme using any cart we like. I kinda knew in my mind what I wanted to do, but didn't have the details worked out until I dozed off one day and this is what came into my mind. I took 4 stars from George and Basic Shapes cut at 8", 6", and 4" in red, white and blue paper. I scored my stars and folded them so they were 3D and then stacked them on top of each other with hot glue. Then I attached my star to a stryoform wreath. I then wrapped blue ribbon in each section of the wreath, not the hole thing-just in each middle seconds of the star. After that I cut flowers from the Flower Shoppe in red, white and blue at 3". I rolled and glued my flowers ontop the open parts of the wreath form leaving the ribbon showing in the middle. Then on the top of the wreath only I glued flat back pearls onto each flower in the middle. Added my hanger and now it is ready to hang. I hope that you will stop in and see what my other design team sisters have in store for you, you won't be sorry. Then go and make something patriotic and link it up at BBTB2 or Sweet Sassy Diva! Can't wait to see what you make!

Blooming for you!
Hi crafty friends! This is Brenda from Friends Craftin' with Friends. This week on Sweet Sassy Diva we were asked to make something in honor of mothers since Mother's Day is upon us. Since my MIL loves flowers I decided to do a flower pot card to go with her gift. But I wanted more of a 3D look to my flowers.
I made my card base first, which is the pot. I started out with my base size being 3.50" x 9". I scored my base at 2" and 5.50". Fold down the 2" side and then fold the 5.50" score back.
One the 2" score, use a decorative punch and punch the edge of the paper. Here is my punched edge, at this point you can ink your base if you so wish too.
At this point put on ribbon if so desired around the punched area. I did not do that and it was harder to get it through once I decided to put twine around. Now move onto your insert for the base. I used the same color as I did for my pot. Cut your cardstock at 2.50" x 4.50". Cut a white mat at 2.25" x 4.25". Adhear to your insert base. Go ahead and decorate and stamp your mat.
Now come the slightly tricky part. Place your card base back into you trimmer. Place the 2" score line on the cut groove of your paper cutter and the 5.5" score line at the .50" mark and cut. Do the same for the other side of your card base. Now your card should look like a flower pot.
Here you can see that your base is in the shape of a flower pot. Those little slices of cardstock are what I cut off each side.
Now is a good time to make sure your base slides in and out without any problems. Now you are ready to put flowers on the insert! I chose to use flowers from CTMH Art Philosophy and Flower Shoppe. I also added some sticker insects to my card among the flowers and on the pot. I also hung a tag on my twine and used My Creative Time stamps and dies. Here is my finished card! All my MIL has to do is pull out the flower insert to see her Mother's Day message!!
I hope that you have enjoyed the design teams take on this challenge and I hope that you will take something beautiful for the mother's in your life!

Now would be a good time to add your ribbon, twine or anything else around the lip of the pot. I choose to use twine. And then I pop dotted up the "lip" of the pot. This is optional. Next you want to open your base card and place your insert on the base, making sure that the bottom lines up with the bottom of your pot. This fits perfectly. Now put adhesive on either side of the insert on the base. Fold card base back up.

Design Team Challenge: Spring Blooms
Good Morning! This is Jen from ; http://3catsandabug.blogspot.com/ . Today's theme at Sweetsassydiva's is Spring Blooms.
I used Flower Shoppe for 2 of the flowers and one leaf. The rest were flowers from my stash. For those who follow my blog know, I'm working on using up what I have before I buy anything else. To make the flowers from Flower Shoppe, I used the first one on the cartridge, cut @ 3.
I start rolling it with my tool from Hobby Lobby. I like to roll my flowers tight, but that's personal preference.
I added a glue dot to the bottom and the flower is complete.
Complete, but boring. lol I added Strawberry ice stickles to the petals.
I added liquid pearls, petal ink to the center.
From Paper Trimmings I cut 2 floral borders, at 1.5 each. Adding stickles to one border and pearls to another. I also added some left over swirled gems around the flowers.
I cut 4 pictures into various sized circles for something different. The main picture is 4 X 4. The light pink mat is 4 1/8 X 5.75 and I used Perfect Plumeria ink around the edges. The hot pink mat is 4.25 X 6. I added 2 colored circles matted on white for my journaling.
Thanks for looking! Did you apply for the design team? click the picture below and do it today.
Still time to hop for a chance at some great prizes. Click the picture below to start the hop.

Love is in the Air!
Hi Crafty friends, Brenda here from Friends Craftin with Friends. This week on Sweet Sassy Diva the DT was asked to make something fun, no layouts, no cards. So after thinking about it for a while I decided that I wanted to make a kissing ball. I started with a 5" styrofoam ball. Picked out my paper-old stack in my stash that was called Love Letters from Little Yellow Bicycle and then deciding on what flowers I wanted to use on my kissing ball. I decided on some spiral flowers from the Flower Shoppe, the spiral on page 12, the spiral on page 13 and the spiral on page 15. I my flowers at 2.25, 2.50 and 2.75.
There are around 160-170 flowers on my ball. So I started cutting and rolling flowers, and cutting and rolling.
I placed a piece of ribbon on my ball for my hanger using to straight pins with heads. After having a pile of flowers done, I started gluing them onto my ball.
Taking care to get them as close to each other as possible, I kept working around and up the ball. After I got to the top I glued flowers to each side of the ribbon hanger making sure to glue tight up against it so the pins wouldn't show.
Here it is with all the flowers in place.
Now I thought that I would add a heart from the Sweethearts Cart, with the lips from Hannah Montana and the "muwah" from Smiley Cards. I glued this to the side of the kissing ball. Then I took some pink twine and punched to hearts using some old Creative Memories punches. I sandwiched the twine between the hearts and glued the other end in a crack of the kissing ball on the bottom. Here it is handing from my ceiling.
Thanks for joing us here at Sweet Sassy Diva, be sure to keep checking in to see lots of inspiration from our fabulous design team, you won't be disappointed! You may even walk away with some inspiration!

Flower Shoppe Wreath!
Good Morning! This is Jen from 3 Cats and a Bug.
This week at SSD's the challenge is to create any sort of wreath and add of course some cricut cartridge in the mix. I thought it was a perfect time to use my Floral Shoppe cartridge and it was the only one I used.
I started out with the leaf cut @ 4 and inked around the sides.

Next I picked out some patterned paper that I liked and started cutting flowers in all shapes and sizes. Making flowers has not been my strong suit, so I cut out a lot of them to mix them up and see what worked. (I have to admit, I'm happy with the results... finally! lol)

I also cut about a dozen of the swirled ones at 3.5.

And put together....

This one I cut @ 4.

And put together (Sassy approved! LOL)

I loved the scalloped ones, cut @ 3.5

This one was cut @ 4, 2.5 and 3 for the scalloped.

This one was cut @ 5, 4.5, 3, 2.5 and 4 for the sunflower center with stickles added.

The finished flowers!

I used a 14in wreath from Hobby Lobby and covered it in orange ribbon, not the yellow pictured.

I also bought a spray from Hobby Lobby that cut apart and added to my wreath.

I used my glue gun and and put it all together. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out.

The inside of the wreath I covered in the leaves that I cut @ 4.
