All that Glitters!

Good Morning!

Welcome to SweetSassyDiva's!  This week the design team theme is glitter.  Those of you who follow my blog (3 Cats and a Bug) know that for me, glitter means Stickles!!  I love using stickles on my layouts, I would say I go overboard with them, but I don't think that's possible.  : )

I've had this idea for a layout in my head for awhile, but it was only a partial idea... until now.  I've been wanting to use a train to hold photo mats since my Grandson loves trains.  Being only 7 months old, he has a variety of toys, so no theme really holds with him yet, so I was just holding onto the train idea.  Since I had some cute pictures of him on the floor with a bunch of toys, I decided to go with the train idea and assorted toys.  I only used two carts on this layout, B is for Boy and MS Birthday.  I prefer the train on MS Birthday, which was cut at 3.

The money was cut @ 4.  I used red stickles on his heart and lips and clear on his hat.
The stickles really make everything stand out so much more.

The dump truck was cut @ 3.5.
I used brown and clear stickles on the dirt.
I cut out the lion @ 4, the keys @ 3 and the Prince Charming and crown @ 3.5 and the rings at 3.5.

For the train, I decided to add some left over pictures to it.  For the two passenger cars, I just used a square punch.
On the back side, I used scotch tape to hold them in place.

For the other two cars, I used the hinge method.  On my gypsy I placed two of the same cars on one mat.  Next I added scotch tape to the top of some plain white paper on my cutting mat and cut out the two cars.
Do NOT remove from the machine, I just hit load paper, so I had room to move.  ((I should have hidden all the lines, except the insides one before cutting, but I forgot.  I did do it after cutting the white paper, before I cut the photos.  Shown is the missing white piece, the only cut that should have been made, although it didn't hurt anything.))
Next I inserted the pictures underneath the white paper, so I could see exactly where it would cut.
Since my mats are in pretty bad shape, I taped the pictures down on the mat and then cut them out.
I took the two pictures and inserted them into each remaining cars.

The left side of my two page layout...
The right side....
And together...

Thanks for looking.  Hope to see you over at 3 Cats and a Bug!

Sock Monkey Love!

This week we were asked to make a project with a cartridge that was not listed on the SweetSassyDiva blog. I knew right away I wanted to use the B is for Boy because of the cute and fun sock monkey! I love using qwirky little things on cards that I know will bring a smile to the recipients face. I made this card for our little neighbor boy :) As I am typing this, I am perfecting the art of 'cram'. We are packing up to leave to go fishing in Valdez and I am trying to get the kids fed, laundry done and everything packed and ready so we can leave in the morning YAY!! lol ~*Jen*~
