Caught A Bug

Sunday, 24 March 2013

Hi everyone!

Happy spring!  Although it doesn't look like it!  It's been snowing steadily for 3 days, but we seem to be getting a break from it today, hopefully it'll stay away - my mum is celebrating a big birthday on Wednesday and we'd need to be able to get there to help her celebrate!
We've been dealing with a combination of heavy snow and wind, and flooding, but I live at the top of a hill so I think I'm getting the better end of the bargain and am just snowed in!  There has hardly been a road open all through the countryside and the electric has been playing up too.  Who'd've thought it at this time of year?!  This time last year Ireland was having a heat wave - I remember cos I missed it - I was in Australia at the time.  After the heat wave, it started raining in April and hasn't stopped since, unless you count it turning to snow instead!
Hopefully we'll get a summer this year.

But enough of my weather rant!  Time for another challenge for the Pink team at Eclectic Ellapu!
Berni's turn to host this week and the fab theme she chose for this week is...

April Fools - anything whisy or funny!

See, didn't I tell you, fab challenge!!  Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this week - I need a good laugh!

Here's what I did:

I made a pop-up card!

The image is "Caught A Bug" by Whipper Snapper Designs and I coloured it with the following copics: B12,0000, YG17,13,11 YR07,04,02, E57,55,53,51, Blender.

The papers are Basic Grey "Lime Rickey" and I used a Magnoila tag die for the computer generated sentiment - I thought the name of the stamp said it all!  Ribbons, charms and pearls are all from my stash (which basically means that I can't remember where I got them!).

Here's the card flat so it fits in an envelope:

So go and take a peek at what the rest of the DT have come up with at Eclectic Ellapu - you're sure to have a laugh!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Birthday Bling!

Sunday, 15 May 2011

It was one of my crafty friend’s 30th birthday, so I wanted to make her card special. As one of my new loves are twisted easel cards, I thought I’d go for one of those

Photobucket

The image is a Whipper Snapper stamp imaginatively named “Little girl with dotted present”. Coloured with copics. The sentiment is a Wild Rose Studio stamp.

Photobucket

The banners are stamps from a Waltzing Mouse set called Bitty Banners. The papers are from MME Tickled Pink pad. The big diamante 30 is from a local craft supplier.

Photobucket

The sentiment on the inside (which is also the outside when the card is open!) is a Stampin’ Up! stamp surrounded by another WM stamp from the Bitty Banners set. I made a rosette by sewing up one edge of a length of ribbon and pulling it tight and sewing it closed.

This card fits the following challenges;

Get well soon

Thursday, 24 September 2009

I had the need for 2 get well soon cards, with little time to make them so I decided to make them both the same. They were for my friend who recently had an operation and my mum who had lazer surgery on her eyes for the second time after the procedure didn't work properly the first time.

I followed the sketch at The Pink Elephant

And here is my card

The image is Magan from Whipper Snapper coloured with my promarkers

Papers are from the bloom and grow set from My Mind's Eye.

The first one has been delivered and hopefully the other one will be delivered tomorrow evening.

I hope you liked it - thanks for dropping by.

A challenge card!

Monday, 17 August 2009

Here's the first challenge card I've made in ages! I felt I had to join this challenge for "week 1" as I'm such a fan of Basic Grey.

So the challenge this fortnight at Basic Grey Challenge is a fab sketch from Tara G:

And here's my card:

Photobucket

This cutie is from Whipper Snapper and I coloured her with my promarkers

Photobucket

The papers are from Basic Grey (I can't remember which set - I'll have to look it up later and I'll add it then) and ribbon, charm and swarovski crystals are from my stash. I glittered around the edge of the image mount, and cut out a heart with my cuttlebug die.

This is the inside:

I used the inside bit of the heart from the front (and another one) and glittered the whole thing and with the other one, I coloured it with a clear stardust pen and then coated it with glossy accents (I think that's the right one!) The wording was all adapted to suit how the cutsie wee girl would say it! ie, "Happy Birfday!"

Thanks for dropping by!
