Mousey Wedding

Tuesday, 25 March 2014

Hello everyone!

What a difference a day makes, to the weather anyway!  Yesterday was wild and today is lovely - lets hope I haven't jinxed it!
It's my mum's birthday on Thursday and then Mother's Day on Sunday and, organised as ever, I have nothing for her yet!  She is so hard to buy for too, I don't know what to get for her, so any suggestions, please share!!

We have a new challenge today at the Creative Card Crew and I missed the last one cos I had the flu so it's nice to be back!

This fortnight we have 2 sponsors again, the first one being one of our regulars, The Scrapping Center
http://www.scrappingcenter.com/
With a $15 voucher for one lucky winner

And our second sponsor is the fabulous Whiff Of Joy!
http://www.whiffofjoy.ch/
Who are offering 4 digi's to another winner!!

The challenge we have for you this time is...

Animals!

Great or small, we want to see them all!

We were given images to work with by our sponsor so my animals are of the small variety!  Here's what I did..

I made a diamond fold card - I think that's the name for them, it's a while since I made one of these but they are so easy and look fab!  They are difficult to get right in photo's though.

My image is by Whiff of Joy and is called Happy Couple.  I coloured them (very quickly!) with the following Copics: Mice; E44,43,41. Suit; E49,47,44. Dress; E40. Flowers; RV29,25,23.YG17,13. Ears & tail; E21,13,000.

The papers are Melissa Frances, 5th Avenue and I thought it would be nice to mount the image on a rosette, so I used 2 strips of left-over base card stock and started folding!  The sentiment is computer generated and the font is Curlz.

I added a few diamante's here and there for a bit of that all important bling!  There's space on the back for a written greeting.

So that's my animal card, I hope you can join us at the Creative Card Crew - go check out the rest of the DT's fab work to get you started!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Crafts 4 Eternity; Anything goes
Craft For The Craic; Something green
Crafty Catz; Bling it up
Eureka Stamps Challenge Blog; No square cards
Moving Along With The Times; Photo inspiration

Two Days Late & Too Many Dollars (or pounds!) Short!

Tuesday, 13 November 2012

Hi everyone!

Phew, what an eventful weekend I've had!  Very enjoyable and a lot of fun!
It was the weekend I've been planning and saving up for for ages!  I flew over to Birmingham to meet up with my forum friends who I've known for most of 5 years but had never actually met face-to-face so I was very excited about it!  They are all such lovely, talented and funny ladies - as were all their travelling partners!  I think I've met some friends for life there!  I think it's time to start organising the next meet! lol!
We took the opportunity to go to the NEC for the big craft show which I thoroughly enjoyed!  I spent far too much money and filled the empty suitcase that I brought with me!  So it looks like my fun is gonna last a bit longer when I get to play with all my goodies!
Unfortunately I had one thing that put a dampener on my trip as I developed Bells Palsy over the weekend.  It occurs when something happens the facial nerve on one side which stops working and therefore causes the muscles in your face to stop working.  My right side is affected so I couldn't smile or talk properly (there's a great impression for my friends first time seeing me!) it's also a challenge to eat and my eyelid won't close properly so it's watery and a bit inflamed.  I went to the doctor this morning (as I only arrived home last night) so she gave me some medication which should hopefully speed up recovery which could still take a couple of months :(  I think it happened because in the six weeks since my accident I have been so busy and have hardly had a chance to relax and recuperate, and have gotten a bit run down, so I need to settle myself down!

Anyway, back to something I should've had scheduled before I went away for the weekend and that is the (not-so) new challenge at Eclectic Ellapu from the Pink team!

The challenge for the next week chosen and hosted by the lovely Berni is...

Pink & Cream!

How fab is that colour combo?!

Here's what I did:

I used two Magnolias - Tilda with a small gift and the mini one is Birthday Tilda.  I coloured them with the following copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair;E37,35,33. Dress;RV13,11,10,YG07,05,03. Accessories;R11,02,00,24,27,29,E41

It's a bit of a Maggie overload (if there is such a thing!) as the papers and sentiment are also from Magnolia.  The cute wee frame and corner are from Melissa Francis.  The ribbon rose is from my stash.  The Dies I used are Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles for the image and a Crafty Sentiments Designs "Fancy Hearts" border die.

The inside also used the Maggie papers and the same mini Tilda as the front.  Oh and another Magnolia Sentiment!

So pop over to Eclectic Ellapu to see the fantastic selection of inspiration from the rest of the DT and there is still time to take part!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Summer Lovin'

Friday, 13 July 2012

Good afternoon everyone

It's Friday once again - Friday the 13th to be exact!!  So be careful out there!!

One nice thing about this Friday the 13th is that it's another new challenge on the Alphabet Challenge blog, this time chosen by the lovely boss - Lesley!  We're up to L and the challenge is....

L for Lace!

We didn't have very many entries last time but I'm sure there'll be more with this lovely challenge.

My card was made for my cousin who got married last week in Spain - at least she got better weather than she would've got at home, it's done nothing but rain here for weeks!
Anyway, here's my card:

I used one of my favourite digi stamps again - You & Me Baby by Tiddlyinks.
Coloured with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Dress: RV32,10,R00,E40. Suit: B02,01,00,000,0000,G00,BG10,C2. Hair: E49,39,35,33.

The papers are by Melissa Frances from the 5th Avenue pad.  The little heart is by Magnolia and I coloured it with a clear Sakura stardust pen and stuck a little swarovski crystal to it.  The frame and corner are also by Melissa Frances.  I die cut the Spellbinder fleur de lis square with my cuttlebug and computer generated the sentiments and punched with Stampin' Up! punches.  The ribbon and lace are from my stash.

The inside uses the same papers, ribbon and lace.  The left side is a pocket for the gift and the sentiment is from Wild Rose Studios.

So that's my lacy card.  Why don't you join us in this fortnights challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
