A - B - C

Friday, 15 March 2013

Afternoon everyone!

Are you all ready for Paddy's day?!  Only another couple of days - and we get a day off work so woohoo!

And the F1 season officially started last night with the first practice sessions in Melbourne - I can't believe it's a whole year since I was there!  I remember at the Friday practice we got totally soaked!  I still feel like it was yesterday, even though so much has happened in the year since.

Anyway, time for another challenge at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and it was our lovely  Roxx's turn to choose the theme and she went for...

C for Coveted!

So all those things that you've been putting away and stroking cos they're too lovely to cut up - it's time to cut them up!

I made mine a while ago, but here's what I did:

The image is Charlotte by Kraftin' Kimmie and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair; E37,35,33,29. Dress; R59,39,37,YR16,14,00,100,W9,7,B95,93,91,YG95,93,91. Shading; W5,3,E41,40.

The gorgeous papers are by Prima and they're called Doodle Deux, I love the colours in the book and I don't want to use them all up!
The Dies I've used are Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles and Memory Box Simple banner.
The sentiments are a mixture of computer generated and I the name on the banner is hand written (very brave I think, considering how terrible my writting is!)
The letters and ribbon have been floating around in my stash for ages.

The inside is another page out of the stack and I thought is was so nice that all I added was a LOTV sentiment.

So go and have a look at how brave the rest of the DT were at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and what lovely stash they've used up!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge Blog; Seeing double
Bunny Zoe's Craft Challenge; Girly

How Arrrrr Ye Doin'?

Tuesday, 14 August 2012

Morning everyone!

Can you believe I'm on to my second challenge as a DT member on the Creative Card Crew challenge blog?!
And can you believe the Olympics are over?!  A thoroughly enjoyable couple of weeks and I can't wait for the Paralympics!  I'm looking forward to seeing the yummy Oscar Pistorious again anyway! lol!  That's not the only reason I've loved the Olympics though.  I think it's amazing what some people are able to do.  I watched the women's mountain biking on Saturday and it's astonishing how fit they must be to be able to go non-stop, on that terrain, for an hour and a half - and still have the energy to lift the bike over their head at the end!  Amazing!  I can only imagine how astonishing the Paralympics are going to be!

Now, back to the challenge...
We're being sponsored this fortnight by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp

They're offering a $20 gift voucher to the lucky winner!

And to win that fabby prize all you have to do is create something using...

Maps/Newsprint or Sheet music!

So I'm looking forward to seeing some gorgeous works of art this fortnight!

Here's what I did;

The image is by Kraftin Kimmie and she's called Alicia Strawberry Pirate.  I coloured her with my promarkers (which are available at Simon Says Stamp): Skin; Sunkissed pink, Oatmeal, Blush, Pastel pink. Dress; Midnight blue, Petrol blue, Marine, Henna, Terracotta, Cinnamon, Mulberry, Fuchsia pink, Rose pink. Hair & Sword; Black, Warm grey 5,4,3. Skulls; Morning mist.  And some clear stardust pen to finish.

The papers are DCWV, "Treasure Map" from the Once Upon A Time set, a Daisy D's paper and "The Spiders Web" by MME.  I used a distressing tool around the map to get it well worn looking and used Walnut Distress ink around it to dirty it up (also available at SSS)  The sentiment is computer generated and the font is "Black Adder".

The ribbon, charms, gems and metal corner are all from my stash.  The image was cut out using a Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles die.

And the inside looks like this:

And thar's me carrd!  I hope's ye be likin it.  Arrr!

Ahem...Go and have a look at the rest of the DT's fantastic work and join in with the challenge at the Creative Card Crew.

I Scream, You Scream...

Friday, 1 June 2012

Evening all!

I'm a little late in posting today as I completely forgot to schedule my post last night and had to wait til I came home from work, so here it is.
It's friday again and time for another challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog!
I really enjoyed seeing all your handmade flowers over the past fortnight but we're up to I and the lovely Roxx chose the fantastically fun theme of...

I for Ice Cream!

How cool is that??!!  Sorry, couldn't resist the pun! lol!

So here's my card:

I made a twisted easel card and used the base of the card as an ice-cream cone.  I used my scorboard to add the embossed pattern of the cone.  I then die-cut 3 different coloured circles out of card for the ice-cream - I embossed the mango flavoured scoop with a cuttlebug folder and heat embossed around the edges of the mint flavoured scoop.  The raspberry flavoured scoop looked yummy just as it was.  And a charm was added as the cherry on top!

The papers are Pink Petticoat Pinstripes in Sassy and the sentiments are Kraftin Kimmie - I snipped the rubber between the words so as I could curve the phrase around the circle and I stamped it with versamark for a watermark effect.  The other one is stamped with a chalk ink.

I used a Stampin' Up! pendant punch and the smallest spellbinder circle die to cut out the shapes for the smaller cones.  I added some of my ancient peel-offs for the wording.

The inside uses the same elements and a place to write your own message.

You'll see lots more fantastic ice-cream themed inspiration from the rest of the DT on the Alphabet Challenge Blog - I can't wait to see your entry! :P

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Ahoy There Matey...

Tuesday, 21 September 2010

It's my little nephew's 3rd birthday tomorrow and after our team lost the All Ireland final on Sunday, I decided to steer clear of the gaelic football theme...

So I decided to go with a hearty pirate theme!

Here's my card:

Photobucket

I used the fabulous "Captain Scurvy" from Kraftin' Kimmie and I coloured him with my copics. The die cut letters are from a Sizzix set called "Tina thinks you're cute" - strange name, but that's what it's called!

Photobucket

The papers I used are My Mind's Eye - The Spiders Web, Cauldron Bubbles and Witch's Lace. The wee bit of map is from Crafty Bitz. I wrapped some thin leather for making jewellery around it.

Photobucket

I used the papers again on the inside

Photobucket

I also made a tag to match

Photobucket

Again, I used stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie, coloured with Copics.

Photobucket

And here's the set

Photobucket

I'm entering this into the following challenges;

Merry & Bright

Another christmas card.

Photobucket

I used my promarkers (and my one and only copic!) to colour this gorgeous Kraftin Kimmie stamp. The papers are Imaginisce Polar Express.

Photobucket

I used a snowflake shaped button from my stash and some wire to make the swirls along with some very thin slivers of paper to make the twirly bit at the side (that is in fact the technical term "twirly bit"!) and I added a swarovski crystal bead to the wire and also some stickles on the buttons and trim on her skirt for a bit of glam!

Photobucket

I didn't follow any particular sketch for this (for a change!) but it does fit a few other challenges:
The Pink Elephant - to use your favourite colouring medium (which is at the moment my promarkers but I'm hopefully getting some copics for christmas! I'll still love my PM's though!)
The Cuttlebug Spot - Winter (I used the snow embossing folder - don't know what you call it but it's the one that looks like falling snow - on the blue band across the middle of the card.)
And Papertake Weekly - Christmas crackers (It's a christmas card!)

I think I'll never be finished my christmas cards on time - I added another one to my collection last night bringing my total to 10, so only another gazillion to go!

I'll be back tomorrow with another one and I have full intentions on keeping up the WOYWW pics!
