Head In The Clouds!

Sunday, 24 February 2013

Hi everyone!

Do you ever have days when you've been really busy doing loads of little jobs that needed done but you would never know you had done anything?  I've been having a few days like that this week, but at least I know the little things are done now!

Anyway, another challenge for you, this time it's the Pink teams turn at Eclectic Ellapu and the fabulous Claire's turn to host and choose what the theme is and she chose....

Masculine!

A difficult one for most people, including myself!  So I've had this one sitting in the "wings" waiting for a while so it could "swoop" in and save the day!  (sorry for the terrible punnage!)

I had made it for my dad for his birthday and we had gotten him flying lessons for his present so I made my card to suit that!

Here it is:

The image is from a set called Giraffes from The Paper Shelter and I coloured it with the following copics: Giraffe; YR24,23,21,E41,40,39,37,29 Plane; C9,7,3,1,00,110,R39,37,27. Sky; B000,0000.  I cut the image out with Spellbinder die Labels 6.

I also decoupaged the image and added some glossy accents and googly eyes!

I used some plane  ;)  blue card for the background and painted some white around the edges.  I've had these arrow brads in my stash for ages and thought they would go with the card.  The sentiments are computer generated (font; AR Carter) and cut out with Memory Box Marshmallow Clouds dies.  Ribbon is from my stash.

The inside has similar details as the front and a LOTV sentiment.

So pop over to Eclectic Ellapu to see all the other fab makes by the rest of the DT!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenges; Animals
Bearly Mine Challenges; Ribbon
Forever Friends Monthly Challenge; Animals
Incy Wincy Designs; Pop it up
Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog; Layer it up
One Stitch At A Time; Use a digi

Get Your Skates On - Or Maybe Skis?

Friday, 18 January 2013

Hello everyone!

Have you had any snow?  I was expecting to wake up to loads this morning but we had none - it has been snowing now for a while but is only just starting to lie.  If you have any I hope you stay safe, warm and have fun!

I am still attending the physio and yesterday she did a lot of work on my shoulder - it was so sore last night and still is today.  I just hope having to go through this pain helps the original pain!

Anyway, time for a new challenge at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and it was my turn to choose the theme.  We're up to Y so I chose....

Y for Yummy!

So any card or layout with food!

Here's what I did

The image I used is by The Paper Shelter and is called Cool Waitress.  I coloured her with the following promarkers: Sunkissed pink, Oatmeal, Blush, Pastel pink, Gold, Mustard, Daffodil bloom, Magenta, Carmine, Cerise, Rose pink, Baby pink, Pale pink, Leaf green, Meadow green, Apple, Warm grey 5,4,3,2,1, Ivory, Blender. and I finished off with a few prisma pencils.

The papers are all Pink Petticoat.  The dies are all Spellinders - wonky rectangles and grand nestibilities - decorative elements and cirlce.  Ribbon is from my stash and the sentiments are computer generated.

And lastly, the inside to compliment the front.

So go and have a look at the rest of the DT's fab work at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and have a go yourself - I'd love to see you there!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday; Sketch
Bunny Zoe's Crafts; Anything goes

The Big One!

Tuesday, 20 November 2012

Good morning everyone!

Another Tuesday is upon us and can you believe there are only 5 weeks to Christmas!!  Eeek!!!  I thought I was gonna be organised this year, but surprise surprise it's not going that way!
I shall have to really get down to business with it - it would be much easier though if I wasn't in pain from my back and the Bells Palsy and if my eye would stop running and make it easier to see!

But, we have a new challenge at the Creative Card Crew and we have a fab new sponsor!  Extra kudos to them for stepping up at short notice after our previous sponsor was unable to do the job.  And who is this fab new sponsor I hear you all cry.... Only the fabulous Marianne Designs!!

And their fantastic prize for this challenge is this gorgeous stamp and die set!

So to be in with a chance to win this gorgeous prize we've set you a really difficult challenge.  Oh yes, we don't make things too easy for you, we know you can step up and take a challenge when we set one.  So this fortnight our challenge is...

 Anything goes!!

Ok, maybe we do make things easy for you!! lol!  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!  So it's gonna be a busy week!

Here's what I did:

I cheated this week cos the challenge just wasn't easy enough and I used a pre-coloured image!  It's a digi from The Paper Shelter and is from the Giraffes set.  I thought my runny eye would make it difficult to colour so went for the easy option (saying as the option was there!) and in my wisdom decided to 3D it up and printed out a second copy of the image.  So it's not cut out brilliantly as it was a little blurry!  I also blinged it up with some glamour dust on the dummy/pacifier.

The papers are also digi and are from Summertime Designs from the Easton Papers 1 set.  I cut some circles with Spellbinder std lg circle and classic scalloped lg circle dies and I used one of my purchases from the NEC last week - this fab Baby die from our fab sponsors Marianne Designs!  I also had to bling it up a bit and added loads of blue Swarovski crystals to it.  The other sentiments are computer generated and punched out with a Stampin' Up! punch.  The ribbon and flocked brads are from my stash.

And finally the inside compliments the front with a Wild Rose Studio sentiment stamped with Bahama Blue Memento ink.

So go have a look at what the rest of the design team came up with for this fortnight at the Creative Card Crew!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog; Lets have sparkle
Divas By Design; Anything goes
Dream Valley Challenges; Anything goes
My Heart Pieces; Anything cute
My Time To Craft; New baby
Oldie But A Goodie; Anything but Christmas

Tyred Out!

Monday, 28 May 2012

Evening all!

I just popped on to share a card I made before I went to Australia and forgot to show - today is an appropriate day to show it cos the Monaco Grand Prix was on today!

I was in Australia with my brother who celebrated his birthday while we were there and as we went to the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne I thought I'd make it to suit that.

Here's my card:

I tried to model it a current Formula One Pirelli tyre, so my large Go Kreate circle dies came in handy!

The image is from the Paper Shelter's Giraffe set and I coloured the car red as we are both Ferrari fans!  So the stripe on the tyre was made red to match (which incidently means that this would be a super-soft tyre! :P )
I coloured the image with the following Copics: R29,27,24, YR24,23,21, E39,37,35, 100, C9,7,5,3 And Prisma pencils: Crimson red, Dark brown, White and Black.

(He's got some serious flat spots going on there!)

I hand drew and cut out the wording with a craft knife to follow the Pirelli logo - I was making this card when I should've been packing so if I had more time I might've got it a bit neater!
The "Colin" is die cut using the "Tina thinks you're cute" Sizzlets alphabet dies.  I finished off with some nail heads.

And as an added wee surprise, as we were Down Under, so as it would be the right way up at home, it did this!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge Blog; Colour combo, black with one other
Beyond Grey Challenges; Shaped Birthday
Charisma Cardz Challenges; No flowers allowed
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge; Cards for a man
Crafty Ribbons Challenge; Easel Card
Dream Valley Challenges; Humour
Little Claire's; Male Theme
One Stop Craft Challenge; For the boys
Oldie But a Goodie; Things with wings - the formula one car has 2 wings, I hope that still counts!  My old thing would be my Alphabet dies.
Totally Papercrafts; Animals

Top O The Morning To Ye!

Friday, 9 March 2012

Good morning everyone!

Yep, it's that time again, when I post early on a friday morning, which can mean only one thing..

It's Alphabet Challenge Blog time!

We're up to the letter C and it was my turn to choose the theme.  I noticed what date the challenge would be on, and as the Irish representative of the team, I had to go for...

C for Celebrate Saint Patrick's Day!
Or you can do a good luck card instead if you want!

So here's my card...

The images are from The Paper Shelter.  I've coloured them with the following copics - Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20.  Hair; YR07,04,02.  Clothes; G17,16,14,85,82,21,Y08,06,02,100,C9,7. Grass; YG17,13,11.  Shamrocks;YG07,05,03.  Pot; V17,15,12.  And all the same colours were used for the castle scene.

The floral paper is K & Co and I'm afraid I don't know where the green spotty paper is from but I wish I did cos I love it!  The spots are flocked so the texture is fantastic!
The sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps and I punched it out with a Stampin' Up! word punch using a technique I think I saw on Pinterest (only, I can't find it now) cos the phrase was too long for the punch, brilliant!

I made the Leprechaun sit out from the card by attaching him to a spring that I made out of two strips of card.
The cluster of shamrocks were made using Spellbinder heart dies.
The mushrooms, shamrock charm and flowers are from my stash.

I also made it a deep easel card so as it would close over the mushrooms which are quite bulky for the inside.  It needs a little tweeking, but it sort of works.

So that's my Paddy's Day card.  Why not head over to the Alphabet Challenge Blog to see some fabulous creations from the rest of the DT, including some for Saint Patrick's Day and some for Good Luck.
