Rock Out At A Christening!

Friday, 24 July 2015

 Hi everyone, I hope!

I'm off on holidays at the moment and I thought I wasn't going to be able to get this posted as my internet/computer are doing my head in!  I'm not sure what the problem is but most of the time, when I log on, the browser won't open any pages for me.  The computer seems to be doing updates and things OK so I don't know what the problem is.  I tried 3 different browsers and they were all the same.  I had just about given up but decided to check one more time and it seems to be working now.  Typical when it's now 11:30pm, I'm heading off first thing in the morning, and I still need to pack!
So, owing to that, this scheduled post is going to be short and sweet!

We have a new challenge at the Alphabet Challenge Blog today and it is...

L for Lavender!

What do you do when your Rocker brother is having his son christened?  You make a Metallica themed Christening card of course!  Here's what I did:

I actually made this card a while back and for the life of me, I don't know what I did with the details for it, but I suppose that's a good thing as I haven't got time to write them out now! lol!
I know the image is by Mo's Digital Pencil and I coloured him with copics.

The papers are by Pink Petticoat, again, I'm not sure which colour pack they're from.  They look kinda blue til you see the blue guitar beside it, then they look kinda lavender!  I think they look blue-er in the photo's too :/
I used a selection of Spellbinder dies and some fonts that I got for free from the net.  I particularly like the Metallica font that I used to spell Noah!  I added a little cross cos it's a christening card, ie: it's holy and also in homage to the Master Of Puppets album by Metallica!

The inside just features some of the same papers as the front and a LOTV sentiment stamp.

That's my card, I hope you liked it!  I hope you can join us at the Alphabet Challenge Blog for this challenge sometime in the next couple of weeks!

Fore You!

Sunday, 6 April 2014

 Good morning everyone!

This is an exciting day!  I've just found out that Sky Atlantic are showing the first episode of Game of Thrones series 4 tonight!!  It will be on at 2am to coincide with when it is being aired in the States.  It's a wee bit annoying that it's on in the middle of the night as I have to be away early in the morning so I won't be able to stay up to watch it, but I will record it and have it there to watch as soon as I get home tomorrow instead of having to wait until tomorrow night!!  This is the series where the scenes will be shown that were filmed on my family's land, I don't know which episode it will be in though but I will definitely recognise it as we were allowed on set! :D

So as I calm myself down I will tell you about the new challenges up today on Eclectic Ellapu - 2 challenges running side by side.  The Pink team and the Purple teams challenges are...

One For The Boys

&

Easter!

As I'm on the Pink team here's my card that I made for my Daddy's birthday

I made a twisted easel card, cos I thought it would look good as a wee golf-y flag!

I love this image from Mo's Digital Pencil as it reminds me a lot of my Daddy, he plays golf and he sticks his tongue out like that, all the time! lol!  I coloured him with the following Copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Clothes;E39,37,35,29. E47,44,43. YG97,95,93,91. Grass;E43,29,G17,14,YG97,95,93. Sky;C4,2,B00,000.

The papers are from Tim Holtz' Retro Grunge pad.  I punched out the triangles with a Stampin' Up punch and stamped them with the matching stamps for the edging.  The sentiment is hand-written.  I die-cut some circles and embossed them with my swiss dots folder and used the back as the front to look like golf balls.  I used a really old and crappy alphabet stamp set to stamp the letters on them after I had affixed them to the card, and made a total hash of it!  But, what's done is done!

And that's my card, make sure you go and see all the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the DT at Eclectic Ellapu and join the Pink team's challenge, I think we can do better than the purple team!! lol!
Go Pinks!!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks; Colour a stamped image
Allsorts Challenge Blog; No flowers
Craft Your Passion Challenges; Shaped cards
Cute Card Thursday; All boy
Ladybug Crafts Challenge Blog; Birthday
Patties Creations Design Challenge; Fancy folds
Simon Says; Happy birthday

Sassy Snow White

Saturday, 22 March 2014

 Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you've had a good week and are about to have an even better weekend!
I've had a busy week catching up at work but am slowly but surely getting there.
I got a date for my first cortisone injection for my shoulder, for the 15th of April.  I'm quite nervous about it but I just hope it works and that I have less pain, better movement and more strength, so I'm looking forward to it for that part!  Then I'll need another one for the other shoulder and I hate needles!  I have to go to the x-ray department to get it as it has to be guided down into the joint.  The more I think about it the more I cringe!  I'm such a wuss!!

Anyway,  here is my second card that I made for the midway reminder for the current challenge at PunkYouGirl where the challenge is...

Fairytales Gone Bad!

You may have already seen the sneaky peeky on the challenge blog but here it is in full:

I used a fab image by Mo's Digital Pencil called Bite and I coloured her with the following Copics: Skin: E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair: 100,C10,8,6. Clothes: E9,Y15,13,11. B39,37. RV29,25,23. B06,05,04. Apple: YG17,13,R37,29. Background: 100,C10,8,6,3,2,1.

The papers are Lauderdale by Basic Grey and the font around the image is called Campanile.  The ribbon and charm are from my stash.  I distressed the papers and inked with black soot distress ink.

The inside has been decorated to compliment the front.

You still have a few days to enter the challenge over at PunkYouGirl so please go and look at the rest of the DT fab work for some more inspiration!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

First Christmas

Monday, 23 December 2013

Hello to everyone on this blustery Christmas Eve-Eve!
I hope you're all well and are ready for an even blusterier Christmas Eve!  That's what we're supposed to be getting anyway.
I was up until 4:30 this morning wrapping my presents - they cost a fortune, took ages to wrap nearly breaking my back in the process and now that it's all done it looks like nothing!  Ah well, at least it's all done now.

We have our last challenge of the year for you up today on Seems A Little Sketchy and our sponsor for this challenge - which lasts 3 weeks this time - is Di's Digi Downloads

http://disdigidownloads.blogspot.co.uk/

Here's is the lovely festive sketch we have for you this time:

http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.uk/
And here's what I did:

The image is a Bauble Baby by Mo's Digital Pencil and I coloured him with the following copics: Skin: E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair: E29,37,35. Clothes: B95,93,91. G16,14,12. C3,1. Holly: YG97,95,93. R29. Bauble: BG13,11,10.  And I used a gold gelly roll metallic pen also.

My papers are Santa's Workshop by Helz Cuppleditch and some of the little accessories match the papers too.  I used a Magnolia Doo Hickey for the swirl and Spellbinders Circle and Big Scallop Circles for the image.  I edged the image with a nice bobble-y ribbon by docrafts.  The bells, twine and nail heads are from my stash.  The sentiment in the bauble was computer generated and the font is Santa's Sleigh.  The other sentiment is a Wild Rose Studio stamp.

The inside is a lot more basic than the front!  The Merry Christmas die cut is by Couture Creations, Intricutz dies.

So that's my last Seems A Little Sketchy card of the year, if you get some crafting time over the holidays, please join us and make sure you check out the rest of the DT's work for some fab inspiration!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

You Stole My Heart

Friday, 6 September 2013

Hi everyone!

Thank crunchy it's Friday!!  It's been a long week.  I'm so looking forward to this weekend!
What better way to end a long week than with a new challenge?
How about one from PunkYouGirl?  :)

Our challenge this month was set by the lovely Jane and she chose...

Red & Black!

My favourite colour combo!!  I've said before but they are my county colours and my car (Clifford) is red with black stripes!

Remember that we are a darker themed challenge blog so gothic/steampunk etc entries.

So here's my card:

The image is Heartless by Mo's Digital Pencil and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin: E21,00,0000. Clothes and hair: R59,39,29,100,C9,7,6.

I used some plain black card and cut it to size, then I tore it and ran it through my bug in a Stampin Up! stripes embossing folder.  I then used my Crop-o-dile to add some eyelets.  I attached the two pieces to my red base and then threaded some thin black ribbon, corset style, up the card.  I die cut a Go Kreate heart and before I removed the card from the die I used a black fine liner to doodle a chequer-board effect over the heart (this took flippin ages!)  I fussy-cut the image and placed her over the heart.  The sentiment is computer generated and distressed with black soot distress ink.  The charm is from my stash.

The inside has the same treatment (more or less) as the front.  (I hadn't time to chequer this heart though)

So I do hope you can join us for this challenge - go take a look at what the first half of the DT have done at PunkYouGirl!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Welcome Baby Noah!

Friday, 2 August 2013

Hi everyone, it's me again, with my second post of today.

I have finally gotten around to making a card for my new wee nephew Noah, I just got it finished last night, I'm a bad auntie I know, but I'm sure he won't remember it! lol!

We have a new challenge starting today at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and it's the lovely Roxx's turn to host.  She has chosen the challenge of...

M for Micro/Mini!

So it's the little things that count for this fortnight!

Here's what I did:

I made a shaped easel card.

My image is by Mo's Digital Pencil and I coloured him with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair: E47,44,43. Clothes; B95,93,91.  I used some white pearl pain on the cuffs and edges.

The papers are by Pink Petticoat, a selection of different designs printed in the colour Pebble.  I used several dies - Spellbinders circles, scalloped circles and Grand Nestibilites decorative circles.  Go Kreate XL circles and Memory Box simple banner.  The sentiments are mostly computer generated and the name is stamped with Craftwork Cards candi alphabet.  I also used a couple of Stampin' Up! punches and the diamantes and ribbon are from my stash.

My mini-ness comes in the form of the mini bibs that the name is on and the mini diamantes (of which I've used loads!) and of course, the mini person!

So please take a peek at what the rest of the DT have done at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and have a go, I can't wait to see what you do in mini!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks; Bling
CRAFT Challenge; Monochromatic

First Communion

Tuesday, 14 May 2013

Hi everyone!

I'm starting todays post off with a moan and a grumble, but I'll keep it short and move on!  I was supposed to write this post up last night but my arm and shoulder have been so painful I wasn't able to :(  Thankfully it's not as intensly painful today so I managed to get to work even though I hardly had a wink of sleep last night, and I'm getting my post done tonight should I have to type one handed and keep my eyelids open with match-sticks!

So onto happier things and a new challenge at the Creative Card Crew with our prize this fortnight being sponsored by the fabulous Marianne Designs!

So the challenge this time is...

White On White!

We are allowing colour on images but nowhere else!

That's a decent challenge I think, difficult to do, but it can create some fantastic results!
I'm not so sure about my own card though, here it is:

I made a card for a First Communion - or First Community as my little nephew calls it! lol!
The gorgeous image is by Mo's Digital Pencil and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin: E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair: E47,44,43,42. Bow: RV11,10. Shading: BV31,V0000,C7,3,blender. Grass: E33,29,YG97,95,67,17.  And highlighted with white acrylic paint.

I used up some scraps of a sort of fabric paper with glittery stuff through it that I've had in my stash for ages and have no idea where I got it!  the upper part is plain white card which I ran through an embossing folder (again, I have no name on it but I know it's not a CB one).  The swirls are a Marianne Designs die and the ribbon, netting, gems and butterfly are from my stash.
The sentiment and the punch are both Stampin' Up!.

The inside, as ever, is done to match the front.

So take a run over to the Creative Card Crew blog and check out just how talented the rest of the DT are!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Bearly Mine Challenges: Lucky Dip - Diecuts, ribbon, gems
Crafts 4 Eternity; Tic tac toe - Ribbon, use up scraps, bling
Deep Ocean Challenge Blog; Lets sparkle
Delightful Challenges; Stash it
A Gem Of A Challenge; Things with wings
My Time To Craft Challenge; Show us the inside
Perfect Sentiments Challenge: Dry Embossing

Mo's Challenge Blog; Clean and simple

I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas...

Friday, 14 December 2012

Good afternoon lovely people!

Kinda dull and dreary today and cold!
I went to see The Hobbit last night and I have to say I wasn't overly impressed.  The high frame rate in 3D looked great but the story is a bit rubbish - the bits that came straight out of the book were great but the made-up bits were not!  And you could even see some of the prosthetics likes obviously fake noses and bald heads!  Also, it is just under 3 hours long and I was very uncomfortable as I was at the physio yesterday and she worked hard on me!
I was surprised to see Aidan Turner ie: Mitchell from Being Human (pic on left side-bar in the Eye Candy section!) and Dean O'Gorman ie: Anders from the Almighty Johnstons!  I was also trying to figure out whose voice it was coming from one of the CG characters and had to wait til the credits and it was an "of course" moment when I saw that it was Barry Humphries ie: Dame Edna Everage!

Anyway, it's time for another challenge!  This time The Alphabet Challenge  Blog challenge will run for 3 weeks to fit in Christmas and the New Year and during those 3 weeks we would like to see creations using the theme, chosen by Lesley, of...

W for Winter White!

So all white work for this challenge, not even any colour on an image (which I was very naughty and did for my first attempt but I managed to do another piece suitable for the DT entry!).

So here's what I did for my DT entry:

I made a tag!

I made it to match my card:

Which, as you can see, is an easel card

The image is the oh-so-cute Winter Fairy Talva from Mo's Digital Pencil which I coloured with the following copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair;E35,33,31. Clothes;B01,00,0000 and Black, Dark Brown and Light Cerulean Blue Prisma pencil.
I did the out-of-the-box technique using a Spellbinders Labels 14 die to cut the image out before I used a glue pen and glamour dust to go over the fluffy parts like her hairband thingy and her leg warmers and also on her wings.  I used glossy accents on the icy part of her wings and snowtex for her huge snowball and for the ground under her feet.  I stuck some little gems onto her skirt with a glue pen.

The fab snowy tree dies are by Dee's Distinctively and the big snowflake is from the Ironwork Motifs set by Spellbinders.  I used loads of glamour dust on the trees and white and pearl acrylic paint on the snowflake.  The sentiment is from Papermania stamped with Bahama Blue memento ink.  I put some white netting behind the snowflake which you can just make out in the photo.

I used matt white card which I ran through a ribbler and then edged it with Snowtex.  I matted it onto a pearl white card (which is showing up silvery!).  The sentiment on the base is computer generated and cut out using Spellbinder Fancy Framed Tags 1.  I got the gorgeous diamantes at the NEC.

So pop over to the Alphabet Challenge Blog to see some fantastic creations - it's amazing what you can do with just white!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges (There are so many Christmas challenges at the mo!) :

My Schedule Is All Askew!

Sunday, 2 December 2012

Hi all,

I'm a bit late posting this cos the post I had scheduled for Friday has disappeared!  So I'll try again and hopefully it'll work this time!

I had scheduled it cos I was away on Thursday and Friday for a couple of days of pampering with my friend in a fabulous hotel called the Galgorm Resort & Spa.  It is the most fantastic and beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in!  We were so relaxed and happy while we were there that we were sad to leave.  It was made all the better because I had won vouchers for the hotel at the Stonecrushers Ball in October so we didn't even have to pay for it!

Anyway, it's time for another challenge at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and it was the turn of the lovely Pat to choose a theme and she chose...

V for Vintage!

I always love to see other peoples vintage cards and projects because I'm not very good at vintage!

But here's my attempt anyway:

I made a circle easel card for my mum to give to my dad for his 60th birthday, so not only is the card kinda vintage - so is the recipient! lol!  Only joking! lol

The image is Big Guy Golfing by Mo's Digital Pencil which I coloured with the following copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Shirt;Y15,13,11. Jumper;YG97,95,93. Trousers, Shoes & Hat;E59,57,55,53. Club;100,C3,1. Grass;YG05,03,97,95,09,25,G07.
I love this image cos my dad has a habbit of sticking out his tongue when he's doing anything!

I used a large circle die from Go Kreate to make the card base and Spellbinders Std circle lg for the image and petite oval lg for the sentiments.  I used my swiss dots embossing folder back-to-front so the dots were debossed to make it look like a golf ball.

The sentiment was computer generated using the font "Chocolate Box Decoration".
The numbers were die cut from kraft card using Die-Namics "By The Numbers" dies and attached with foam pads and everything was aged with Vintage photo distress ink.

So go and see the rest of the DT's fab inspiration at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and join in with the fun - it's a great theme for Christmas cards too!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Boots Challenges; Anything goes
Here Come The Boys; Birthdays only
Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog; Anything goes excluding Christmas
