Dad Rock On

Hello Friends,

I am over on the Trendy Twine blog today and I have a treat box to share with you using one of the 3 x 3 Kraft Boxes which are on sale this month.

I started by stamping my images directly on the 3 x 3 Kraft Box to decorate it.  Next I added patterned paper to the top and a die-cut shape for visual interest. Using some fun masculine images in my stash, I stamped the faceplate, sentiment and hand in black ink on ivory textured cardstock and fussy cut it out to place on the front. Using some leftover scraps from decorating the top, I added a few banner tabs to stick behind the plate.
Using a die-cut made to lace ribbon through, I added Dad to the middle and wrapped a length of brown felt stitched ribbon around the box securing through the label bringing it up on both sides adding it to an aqua button designed as well to lace ribbon through. Now you have a secure way to open and close the box. I then took Krazy for Kraft Baker's Twine to tie the tab closed. The recipient just has to undo the twine, pull the ribbon out of the button to get in the box. A cute and functional way to dress up your gift.
Be sure to stop by Annie's Paper Boutique to pick up these items today especially since they are on sale.

A handmade flower...

Hi!

**Woohoo This card was selected as The Shabby Tea Room's Honorable Mention Cup of Tea! Yay! Thank you so much**

I have been working on some other projects that I am not able to post yet, but decided to take a break and create a handmade flower from felt. The Shabby Tea Room has a challenge to make handmade flowers this week, so I thought I would take this opportunity to try my hand at one I have been wanting to do for awhile. I didn't have a lot of extra time today, so I basically put this card together with things leftover from other makes.  The card came together very quickly. Making the flower took the longest and that didn't take long at all. Even the sentiment panel was already stamped and leftover from another make. Easy peasy!

I know I usually am better about being descriptive, but I am running short on time as I have to take the little one to his swimming lesson! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions! I will be happy to answer.
A close up of the flower.
As mentioned, I was inspired by The Shabby Tea Room: Homegrown Flower Inspiration this week.
Also swinging in Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge: All snippets on this make!
Moxie Fab: Handmade Embellishments - Felt Flower was all cut and made by hand.
Thanks for dropping in! I've got some things I am catching up on, and I will be swinging around real soon I promise!

A Rockin' Thank You!

Hey there!

Sorry to say it's been one of those weeks where I have had no time to stamp and post. I have not made it around much in blogland so I hope to catch up soon.

I have depleted my stash of thank you cards, so I'm sharing one I created today.
I made this rockin' little thank you using Wilson Designs Let's Rock and sentiment from Wilson Designs Everything's Owlright.  I used a quickutz polka dot embossing folder for the background and thought it would be fun to only emboss part of the card front.  The strip of star paper is from my stash, but was purchased at Hobby Lobby. I cut the stars using nestabilities. The pink patterned paper is from Stampin' UP! and I used a page from an old vintage book that I rescued from the trash pile at a thrift shop. The pages in the book are falling apart it's lost it's spine, but perfect for card making projects.  I added a pink gem to the centers of my crossing guitars!

I hope you have a fun rest of your weekend as I know many have an extra day.  Yay! Be sure to come back by tomorrow as we kick start with a sneak peek for the new Wilson Designs Countdown.

I created this card using color inspiration from The Color Throwdown. I didn't have Poppy Parade, so I substituted with Pure Poppy and I am also joining in at  The Kraft Journal: Color Me Red.
See you tomorrow!

Little Darlin' Thanks a Bunch!

Hello~

This is my second post for the day to see my Colourq card please scroll down or click here.
I am back with another Thank You card. I never seem to have enough of these on hand, but I am also working on some cards for a fundraiser and who doesn't need cute thank you notes right?

My card uses Wilson Designs Stamps from the Everything's Owl Right and Let's Rock collection. Super cute stamps to play with for sure.
I embossed the background for a little extra texture and I love how the eyelet dies coordinates so well.  However, what is not showing up in the picture is the white glitter paper...darn. It looks so pretty as a backdrop for that cute Polaroid. After rain this morning, the sun is coming into the house so nice and bright, but almost too bright to get a decent photograph.
I used the color inspiration from The Color Throwdown Challenge.
I used the CAS-ual Fridays Sketch this week. I took a little creative liberty and alerted slightly.
Thanks for letting me share my creative outlet with you today!

Get Your Glitz On!

Hi Everyone!

A real quick post for me as I have another busy day with home improvements and trying to keep a little one entertained while we do all the things that need to be done.

Today I have a card for the Get Your Glitz On Background Stamping Challenge. I just love this Distressing Musical Background by Glitz Designs, so I thought it would be fun to play along.

I wanted to keep this fairly simple for mailing purposes, but I think I might have killed that idea when I added the buttons! (I just couldn't help it!)  I stamped the musical background from the D 2961 Glitz distressing set repeatedly on my cream card stock then adding it to my card base. I then added the doily and peach felt zig zag (I believe from American Crafts)to the card. Next I stamped a frame from Glitz Fancy Frames S 2693 and fussy cut and distressed the edges.  Next I stamped a simple sentiment in the frame.  For a finishing touch, I added some vintage buttons to the top portion of the card.

I am also adding this to: Clear It Out Tuesday: Anything Goes!

Speaking of getting your Glitz on, I have a friend in blogging world (Colleen), who's 13 year old daughter just started an adorable blog called Glossip Girl!  She has a fun enthusiasm for Philosophy products especially Philosophy lip gloss.  I use to pride myself on being a little stylish and fashionable and then....well the Mom roll took over, so now my style is more casual, but no matter what I am wearing, I love a little lip shine, so I know I appreciate the young and fresh advice of this sweet young girl!  Please go check out her cute blog, I know she would love it if you followed her too!  She has a talent for writing fantastic reviews for such a young lady!

Well, I hope your weekend is going fabulously!

Wilson Designs: June Release Day 1

Hi There!

Today is Day 1 of the Wilson Designs newest release.  Kim has two sets releasing this month, but you will only see one set in my post since the US Postal Service didn't seem fit to actually deliver the second set. (Enter big sigh and sad face here).  As you read this, I will be on the road in the middle of a move without internet access, so let's hope at least blogger is working, and many of you know the frustrations of that challenge!

Both my cards today are mix up cards. This set was inspired by Jax.

First is a card using Let's Rock, with the new set.
In the card you see above, I used 6 of the new stamps in the set! A lot of background stamping to create my own pattern papers!

Next up for this set...a little onesie sweetness!
A close up!

This set uses 4 stamps from the new set. As you can tell, you can personalize the onesie.  I also used the clouds and hearts background from Ride Away with Me.

That's all I have today.  Make sure to leave a comment on all the design teams blog for your chance to win.  We never know where the winner will be picked from.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow night for more and of course the release!

A quick note...

Hello Everyone...

A quick little post for a CAS card! The challenge over at Ribbon Carousel was just that...Clean it Up!  Make a CAS card allowing the addition for ribbon, twine, or anything on a spool as they describe it!!!

The stamps I used are from Wilson Designs Stamps, Let's Rock.  The ribbon was gifted in a goody package sent to me from my sweet friend Laurel!
Well, that is it for now. I am off in a bit to take the short stuff to a Max and Ruby Show.  Should be fun! Hope you have a fabulous day!

Seeds of Happiness for Mom

Edited to note this card was chosen as City Crafters Artist Spotlight May 10th, 2011.
Hello~

Just jumping on to share another card I created for Mother's Day! Those who are married know that you must come up with not only one card, but two for Mother's Day! This one is on the way to my husband's Mom.

I used the colors from the City Crafters Challenge Blog as my inspiration.
Such a beautiful collection of flowers. So, keeping with the floral theme in the photo, I used a die cut from K & Company.  The tag is stamped Mom from the set Let's Rock by Wilson Designs.  My cardstock base is from Stampin' UP!, and the Designer Paper is from Me & My Big Ideas.
I am also playing along with My Craft Spot: We love you, Mom.

Hope your Mother's Day is filled with much love and appreciation!

Thank you so much for popping over to visit!

Mom

Hi

(If you are looking for the Wilson Design Release post from last night click here.)

Wow, Mother's Day is just a few short days away, and oddly enough, I have my Father's Day cards completed and I am just getting around to my Mother's Day Cards. My Mom actually reads my blog, so she has been instructed to NOT READ THIS POST until after Sunday! I have also had to be clever with my craftiness since I am staying with her so she doesn't see what I am working on. J
To kick off my inspiration, I used Jay Gee's Nook Photo challenge! So many possibilities!
Love the retro vibe and the Let's Rock set just released by Wilson Designs was perfect.
Creating a kraft cardstock to form my base which is layered with a mix of designer papers. Then onto trimmings of crochet lace, pink twine, and a crinkle seam binding bow finishing off with a pearly button to complete this retro Mom's Day Card!

I will also enter this card at My Craft Spot: We Love You Mom which is to make a card or project for your Mom that's easy peasy and The Kraft Journal: Mother's Day. That's a check!

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments over the last few days! I read each of them and they mean so much to me! As all crafters know...followers and your comments keep us going and I appreciate mine so much! I just wanted to take a moment to say that!

If you are a Mom, I hope you get to the Royal Treatment this weekend, if you are not, then may you be spending it with someone who has been very special in your life.J

Wilson Designs: May Release Projects Introducing Let's Rock & Scoot Away With Me!

Hi there and happy to have you popping back by for our second day of projects and the release!

First up is featuring a card from Let's Rock.

A fun little twist on your traditional vinyl records! Pink! My Mom had an Elvis album that was Blue, when I was growing up so I thought why not Pink? {Which I love {grins})
I sugar coated my flowers with some Martha Stewart Glitter and just had fun layering this little number with some goodies. Let's Rock is a sentiment that can be added to the record or left off.

Next up is a fun little number showcasing the Record  and another sentiment Got the blues? Totally wanted to make a card that would cheer someone up if they had the blues!
And now for a couple of cards from Scoot Away With Me....

Many of you may or may not know that Kim has a Vespa, so this set was a long time coming because she wanted a scooter set inspired by the authentic model.  I have to say I love her inspiration too! Too cute! I had some fun papers to piece this fun little scooter with! I want a scooter like that!!! See those cute little flowers? Those could be YOURS too in this adorable set! I'm just sayin'!!!

I wouldn't mind having this Scooter either! {wink} Fun Fun Fun stuff! And this is one Cool CHIC
I made my background paper for the greeting bubble behind the scooter with the new flower and added the new sentiment Ciao!

It's been a blast playing with Kim's new sets this month, and I know you will love them too! There are so many possibilities!
