Dad's Day

Hi!

**I am thrilled that this card received the Comet Award from Papercraft Star on 6/19/12**

I managed to make another "dreaded man card". I took a break from some other crafty assignments and quickly put this together. (i.e. out of necessity)! :-))))

So here we go......
I started with a Kraft card base from The Kraft Outlet. The next is a mix of this and that and all from my scrap pile. I still had a library card on my desk, so I incorporated it in this card too.

The stamps I used are all from Crafty Secrets: Car Classics. The car was paper pieced using some patterned paper also in my stash. So I got a "little" girly and gave pearls for headlights. :-)))

Happy Mother's Day

Hi!

**Woohoo, thrilled that this card was chosen as Hand Stamped Sentiments Artist Pick**

I am actually sneaking in with another Mother's Day card that I worked on the end of the week, but never got a chance to post. As stated on Friday, It's proving to be a busy busy, but fun weekend, so I thought I would I would quickly share this card. (no inky time this weekend)

I also want to say thank you and hi to my new followers and email subscribers! It makes my heart smile you like what I share to want to come back and visit me. I appreciate every one of my comments!

I started with a gray card base (Stampin' UP! ) and pieced together different papers and distressed their edges before adding it to my card base. A length of seam binding was added to the right side of my card and tied in a fussy bow dressed up with a button and some twine.

A lacy circle was die-cut adding a pretty patterned paper circle to the center which was embellished with some beautiful paper roses. A labels three was die-cut distressing the edges and stamped using Inspired by Stamping Small Fancy Label 3.  The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is from Inspired By Stamping Floral Love.  As a final embellishing touch a linen and crochet bloom was added to the lower left of the sentiment panel.

I found inspiration at Hand Stamped Sentiments. Close to colors as I had.

Happy Birthday - Skipping Stones Designs

Hi there!

How has your week been going??? It's getting closer to the weekend and we have a busy, but fun one coming up!

I started this card by stamping a background from Skipping Stones Designs Timeless Textures in Stick Candy Green by Jenni Bowlin ink and cutting into a square followed by distressing the edges and adhering to the Kraft card base.

A length of pink crochet trim was added slightly overlapping the hand stamped background.  Some green baker's twine was horizontally wrapped several times over the top of the crochet trim and tied off in a bow. The Happy Birthday sentiment from Skipping Stones Grunge Set was stamped in Momento Rich Cocoa ink to the lower right corner of my card.
The musical background from Timeless Textures provided the stage for the two glittered butterflies from Healing Wings which have also had their edges slightly distressed and their wings bent upward. For a finishing touch, some white craft paint has been added to the kraft card base.

I found inspiration for my card from Skipping Stones Designs Sketch Challenge.

I found my color inspiration from Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.

I'm also excited to share that this card was a Top 3 Challenge Winner at Inspired By Stamping Inspirational Challenge.

Sweet Little Irish Girl

Hi There!

**This Card was Featured on the CARDS Create Blog 3/15/12**

I was in a creative mood this morning and I came across this darling little image in my embellishment pile and I couldn't believe I didn't make a card with her to send out this year. I have sent my St. Patrick mailings, so I will have to put this in my keep box for next year and I can say I am one prepared! :-)))

I cherish making cards with vintage images, so when I come across one  I like I save it.

Here is what I have to share today!
I started with a Kraft card base and layered with a couple of patterns of paper.  Across the top, I die cut some cork I had in my stash for some visual interest and texture. Before moving onto focal image and embellishing, I tied a fussy seam binding bow on my lower panel adding a button and twine.
Now the fun part of embellishing! I used some foam dots to add some dimension to my focal image adding some lace trim and buttons. I had the diecut Shamrock leftover from another make so I added to the upper right corner adding a vintage button to the center. I just think an Irish card needs a bit of GOLD don't You, so to complete my card, I added a gold glittered star of course embellished with a button!!!! Anyone who knows me knows I love my buttons!

Go Green Take Two!

Good Monday Morning To you!

**This Card was featured on the CARDS/Create blog 3/15/12**

Since my last Go Green post, I decided to make another St. Patrick's Card. I always send St. Patty's cards out to friends and relatives, so I realized as I was preparing my cards for mailing this week I needed one more anyway.

So here goes.

I started with a White card base and layered another piece of trimmed card stock and rounded the corners. I diecut a shamrock in the center and used the negative and diagonally layered some saddle stitched shamrock grosgrain ribbon underneath. Stamped my sentiment below and finished off by embellishing with some buttons by DeNami Designs.

Thank you to all who left sweet comments on my last go green post! You do make a girl feel good when she isn't feeling good. Sometimes those sketches and visions just don't come out like we thought. I will say it did look a little better in person than in pics.

I hope you have a great week!

Go Green

Hi!

Do you ever create something and think that just didn't turn out at all how I envisioned it. Well that is what I am sharing with you today. I have read where people delete post or throwing out their "uglies" etc. Not me, and well, that is a crime and a waste of paper and this is after all is a "go green" post...ha. Seriously, I am all about the good and the ugly. I show the pretty and the not so pretty too. I hope we all accept we are all human. This may not have been my favorite card I have made, but I know someone will appreciate it because I have made it for them. It so did not turn out like I wanted or come together like I thought, but oh well...it's only paper and like I said someone will appreciate being thought of.
I started the card with a Kraft card base and framing with a layer of cream card stock and toped with a distressed green polk a dot patterned paper. I adorned an off-white crochet trim across the card front. I then wrapped a length of silk ribbon, vertically, around the left half of the card front and embellished it with a green button.

My focal images were then stamped on the die cuts and then adhered to the card face and now ready for mailing for hopefully a smile on a relative's face. Added to note they are not blurred just looks that way in the picture because of the patterned paper choices which thought would look cool with the matching stamps. Ha! See vision in head does not always match on paper. {smile} However, it does look better in person.

I am going to go ahead and join in at DYSU - Go Green (Although I don't think this card stacks up...ha)
I hope you have a great weekend!

Thank You So Much!

Hi!

I created a Thank You card today since my stash has been depleted as of late.

I was inspired by the DYSU challenge to use PINK! Well, you don't have to tell me twice since it's my favorite color with turquoise/aqua a close second.

Here is my card to share today!
I had a package of doilies laying on my desk so I decided to take a pretty background stamp and just go with it. I used Rose Romance Ink by Stampin' UP!  Next I created a border with a coordinating stamp from the same set and added my lace trim.
I created my own corrugated chip board heart by die cutting a cereal box and then cutting some white card stock and adhered them together next I ran it through my  crimper.  My final step was running the heart through my Xyron and added Martha Stewart glitter snow.  To complete my embellishment, I  added a darling birds nest.  I finished the card by creating a Thank You sentiment banner!

Check out this fun photo from DYSU!  I may have to create another card this week if time permits! Love love working with pink! J

Thanks for coming by!

Winter White

Happy Monday Morning to you!

For my DeNami Designs Blog Hop post click here.

I have a winter  white on white card to share with you today.  I have always wanted to do this, and the current Go Fish Challenge pushed inspired me to FINALLY do this.

Here is what I came up with! Ok, very hard for me to photograph! I was too lazy busy to take the time to reshoot it with a colored background.
My blog friend Colleen Dietrich always adds beautiful pearls to her cards and I just hoard them. She inspired me to actually use my stash!  I added some glitter touches to the snowflakes!
Close up of the snowflake border!
I promise you it is much better looking and detailed in person! :-)

I am also playing along with DYSU: Let it Snow, and Top Tip Tuesday: Anything Goes

Here's hoping your week is off to a crafty start!
