Patriotic Hello

Hello Friends~

{*So Stinkin' Excited This was a Designer Challenge Winner at My Creative Time on 7/10/14*}

Summer is in full swing in our neck of the woods. Sorry I have been absent from making my rounds. I haven't had a lot of extra crafty time, but I did sneak in my very messy craft room and made a patriotic card to prepare for mailing for the upcoming holiday.

For my card, I used the current sketch and color inspiration from My Creative Time Designer Challenge
I started by stamping the Hexy Background onto a piece of Kraft cardstock and distressed the edges and added it to my card base. I added some Natural Jute Ribbon to the card front topping it with a piece of red star patterned paper. Then I took a length of Blue Baker's Twine and wrapped it several times and tied it in a bow.
Next I die-cut some stars using My Creative Time, 3 Star Stiched dies, as well as the arrow and small stars from 4 x 4 Journal Die + More. The Hello sentiment can be found in the My Creative Time set Floral Sentiments. After adding all the stars, I added some random sequins in red, blue and gold to the card front.

As mentioned, inspiration was found at My Creative Time Designer Challenge.

I am also sharing at Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes, Die Cuttin Divas: I Vow To Thee My Country, D.L. Art - Patriotic Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a Fantastic Friday!

The Kraft Journal #123 Use Any Sketch.

Good Morning!

{Woohoo, this card was selected as Top 3 at Craftin' Desert Diva's on 6/9/13...thank you I am honored}

For today's "Use Any Sketch" challenge at The Kraft Journal, I followed the sketch from The Paper Loft. I used a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight onto which I layered a white embossed honeycomb panel. I distressed the edges for a shabby feel.  Next I used papers from the Kraft & Black Cardstock PadC-Flute Corrugated Kraft Paper which I painted white and distressed with the sander, and then I used the Old Newpaper Washi Tape  on the circles Before adding the circles to the embossed panel, I took a length of Black Twill Tying Tape and wrapped it around the card face horizontally and tied in a bow adding another bow made from Natural Hemp Cord embellished with a white paper rose.
My final finishing touch was adding a handmade burlap rose and leaves which has a Memo Pin holding a Chipboard Flag Piece with coordinating Flag Banner Sticker for my stamped DeNami sentiment.

As mentioned, inspiration for this card comes from The Paper Loft May Sketch challenge.
I am joining in at Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes. 3GirlJam - Anything Goes With Ribbon. My Craft Spot - Ribbon & Twine, Sunday {Fun}day - Linky Party, D.L. Art - Anything Goes Linky Party, Craftin Desert Diva's. - Anything Goes with Ribbon and Twine.

This is my last post for The Kraft Journal as a DT member for the time being. I look forward to returning with the team in September.

DeNami Product Spotlight - Elegant Oval Frame

Hello Friends!

Today, The DeNami Design Team is featuring the Elegant Oval Frame on our creations for the current product spotlight. You get a 10% savings for one week only!

I started by adding my beautiful patterned paper to my Kraft card base and adding a die-cut doily to the left portion of the card front.   I stamped the Elegant Oval Frame on ivory cardstock which has been fussy cut and added to the center of the doily. Hello Friend was added to the center in Vintage Sepia Ink.  Coral Boutique Buttons were added as a decorative touch.
To complete the card, I took a length of Ivory Grosgrain Ribbon and wrapped it around the right side of the card front and tied off in a bow, embellished with a Coral Boutique Button and twine.
I hope you enjoyed this DeNami Designs Product Spotlight!

Hop on over to the other talented ladies to see their creations with this stamp!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Making my stash work for me!

Hello~

I have a little card for you today! I totally shopped the deeps of the stash on all this. I continue to try reduce, reduce reduce reduce. Sure doesn't seem to be going anywhere. *wink*
I started with a Kraft Brown cover weight cardstock onto which I added my textured patterned paper joined with my white embossed Whisper White cardstock.  Where the pieces joined I added some beautiful lace trim that was in my stash that I picked up at an Etsy store, but is now closed. I wrapped a beautiful length of aqua gross-grain ribbon around the card front and tied in a bow and embellished with a red button, pearl, twine, and a tag with a Hello greeting stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.
A die-cut embellie by K & Company was added to the right of the card. I have a stack of these waiting to find a home! :-) Finishing touches include adding some beautiful flowers to the lower corner and pretty pearls scattered about!

Inspiration for this card was found at the following:
Papercraft Star - Make a "Hello" card.

My Craft Spot - Flowers
Shopping our Stash - Use Old Paper
Crafty Steals Blog - Use Your Spring Stash - Flowers (K Company Die-Cut and flowers on card)

Thanks for looking!

Happy World Card Making Day!

How does a girl who is an avid card maker not post on WCMD?  Well, she's a sick pup for one with a long list of things that have to be accomplished before house guest to arrive this week. This girl almost didn't think she was going to be able to have anything to post today.

Well, I hope you will understand if I am not chatty with my usual design details today.  I wish I could have spent the day crafting, but I couldn't.  My heart went with the Paper Smooches challenges which is partnering up with Operation Write Home. That of course is near and dear to my heart. You had to use pink on your card somewhere because it's breast cancer awareness month...another thing that hits close to home for me. So it made my choice very easy!

The Owl from Chubby Chums was fussy cut then happily colored in with water-colored pencils and mineral spirits. Inspired by the Hello challenge at Moxie Fab, I paired the Hello from Chit Chat with I adore You from  Good Gab

The bottom layers are rolls of various washi tape I had that picked up colors in the plaid patterned paper.

Here is the sketch to follow:

A simple little card for a wonderful cause at Operation Write Home!

I am also adding this over at Papercraft Star - Anything Goes!

Just saying Hello

Hello~

{For My Colourq post scroll down or click here.}

I sure didn't plan on being back so soon today, but I wanted to squeeze this card in for the Crafty Steals Sketch Challenge. It's only open for the weekend. I have always wanted to participate, but with the short window sometimes I can't join in, but today I am going to make it happen!

When I saw the sketch I had in mind my version of the card I wanted to create. My next thought was how to maximize using up some of my scraps.  I have a ton of patterned paper and I have a ton of scraps from it.  I sure made a lot of work for myself in this creation, but I love the end result.  I die cut that butter fly 18 times! Then I punched a smaller butterfly 6 times to layer on top! Using my 1 3/8 circle punch 6 times. I realized after all that I really didn't make much of a dent in my scrap pile. Ha!
I started with a textured Close To Cocoa card base size 5 x 5. I had this in my scrap pile from a card I started and never completed.  I stamped CL106 Fantastic Flourishes from Hero Arts in the corners using an ink from Martha Stewart and Momento.  My sentiment is from CL272 All Occasion Messages.
I added some gold ribbon from May Arts in three strips.
I attached each set of the butterflies together and then adhered them to my patterned paper circles and bent the wings upward.  For a finishing touch I added gems from Hero Arts.

I stamped the Fantastic Flourishes on the inside of my card to dress it up a bit and match the front panel.
I am going to join in these challenges: City Crafter: Pretty Inside and Out,  Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge, Going Grey with Scrap Creations: Die Cuts DYSU: Patterned Paper, and the sketch Challenge at Crafty Steals.
Hope you are enjoying the rest of your Saturday and thanks so much for stopping by!
