SCRAPS TO TREASURE TEAM'S MONOCHROMATIC HOP!

Hi!  This is Paula and I will be your hostess this month.  I want to welcome you to the Scraps To Treasure Team's Monochromatic Blog Hop.  Our goal at STT is to use up all our scraps and leftover embellishments to create wonderful layouts, cards and other projects.  This month we are doing that using different shades of only one color.

Up for grabs is this RAK from me going out to one lucky hopper that is a follower of all the blogs in the hop and has left a comment for each entry.

Included in the RAK are:

10 My Mind's Eye Laundry Line Diecuts
2 Basic Grey Bling It On Rubons and Rhinestones
  2 Glitz Frosting Bling
  1 Martha Stewart Glitter Alphas
  1 EK Success Inspirables Embellishments
  1 Special Moments Embellishments
  1 Treasured Memories Metal Tags

For my entry I opted to create a card using one of my favorite colors - PINK!  I started out by using this sketch from the Colorful Creations Sketch-a-Thon May 14th

I have also entered this card in Whoopsi Daisy Pretty In Pink challenge and the Use it Tuesday challenge #55 for using some hoarded supplies.  I used scraps of paper and pink rhinestones that I have had for at least 2-3 years.  I also am entering it in Shopping Our Stash challenge #101 Scrap Attack for using only scraps.

I hope that you have enjoyed stopping by and seeing this creation and now you are ready to move through the following blogs and view more great monochromatic creations.

ALL IN THE DAY...

Today I had a wonderful creative day at a crop with my friend Maraline.  I was able to complete 7 layouts.  The first one was for Colorful Creations Twisted Blueprints and called for using chipboard and brads along with a sketch.  I have also entered it in Use It Tuesday Challenge #49 Fasteners which calls for using brads from stash.  I would say that the brads I used on this layout have been in my stash at least 3 years.  Many of the papers are probably close to that old as well as the key, bracket and diecut and the photos are from 2005!

Here is the sketch (which I rotated 1/4 turn right):

Here is my layout:

My next layout was using February sketch #2 from Let's Get Sketchy.

A FUN PRODUCTIVE CREATIVE DAY!

I am exhausted!  But I wanted to share about all the fun, productive, creative things  I did today!  I went to a crop with my friend Maraline - the first crop I have been to since moving to Delaware last January!  We traveled to Maryland to attend the monthly crop at Holy Trinity Croppers.  It was great!  Lots of friendly scrappers and lots of yummy snacks and food.  I was able to complete 5 layouts while we were there.  They were all done with photos from this Christmas.

The first page I completed was for the Colorful Creations Say It With Words challenge.  The word for this month is BLESSED.  The photos are from the Christmas Eve Worship Service at Kingswood United Methodist - my Delaware church.  I have been so very blessed by so many people there in so many ways over this past year.  I am also submitting this to My Scraps and More OLW Crop using my own word - BLESSED.

My next page were more photos from worship - the choir and the children.  I did this for the My Scraps and More OLW Crop using the word Peace.  I used the scripture Luke 2:10 in which the angels announced the birth of Christ to the shephards.  In the photo of the children you will see that they are dressed as shephards and angels.  I am submitting this also to Word Art Wednesday who is having an Anything Goes challenge this week.

My third creation was for the Colorful Creations Inspired By challenge.  The inspiration photo this month was a photo of food so I opted to do the photos from our Christmas Eve Dinner at The Olive Garden.  For this layout I used a transparency, lots of shiny embellishments and rhinestones.  The title of the page says Tis the Season for love and joy.  I am also submitting this layout to Use It Tuesday for their Make It Sparkle challenge.  The patterned paper has been in my stash for quite awhile as has the transparency and the rhinestones.

My next page was for the Colorful Creations Guest Designer Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch I had to work with:

and here is my page using a photo of my tiny Christmas Tree which we used again this year as I wasn't up to getting our big tree and all the decorations from storage.  I was so happy to get to use 3 little metal trees that have been in my stash for years!

My final creation of the day used photos of my son Thomas playing Joseph in the church Christmas Pageant. I loved getting to use this wonderful diecut sheet by K&Company. I also got to use some wonderfully sparkly holly leaves and 10 buttons. This page is being submitted for Kaboodledoodles Challenge #154 Buttons!

I hope that you have enjoyed viewing my days work!  Now that I have shared this I am going to get myself ready for bed.  Sweet dreams to you all!

Just a card before I sleep...

I managed to sneak in one card tonight after spending hours on the phone with tech support trying to get my printer fixed.  I used orange, papers from my scrap basket and a velvet ribbon I've had forever for Use it Tuesday, Thankful for Scrappy Moms and a sketch from There She Goes.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

and now I'm off to bed.  Sweet dreams to all.  Thanks for stopping by.

MORE CHRISTMAS CREATIONS!

This morning I decided to work a bit on Christmas cards again.  I've got two for you to see now!  I drew inspiration from various sources.  My first creation uses a sketch from Willow Sketchie, a face for the challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy, and it has a lot of red for Moving Along with the Times.

Here's the sketch I chose:

and my card:

My next card uses jewels (the word peace) for Alphabet Challenge and the sketch from My Time Made Easy.   Both cards were done totally with pieces from my scrap basket for Use It Tuesday.

I hope you have enjoyed your little visit to Christmas.  I'll be back later with more creations!

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A BIT LIKE CHRISTMAS!

Just this morning in my emails was a post about crafters getting ready for Christmas.  I am doing a show in October and realized that I should be spending some time making Christmas themed cards and projects.  It was time to work on cards and I started flipping through a list of challenges and came across Always Playing With Paper's Merry Monday challenge.  It was a suggestion to start on your Christmas cards and it came with an awesome sketch.  I grabbed some paper and got started.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

For my next stop I went to Use it Tuesday who was having an anything goes for using your stash.  I decided to go with another card with the leftover paper and I was using a card base from a box of cards I've had at least a year.  Now it was time to look into my Christmas stash.   There with the embellishments I found these great little wooden shapes that I have probably had for at least 10 years!  Just perfect!  I loved that sketch and decided I would modify it a tad and use it again.

Card #2

I had a bit more of the paper left and one red card base so I decided to go for it and do a bonus card using another of those cute little wooden shapes.

Bonus

I feel very accomplished making this cute little set of Christmas cards and now I had best get in gear and get off to work.  Come back tonite to see what my other creating will be.

Hope you have enjoyed this little bit of early Christmas!
